Bible Review: TBS Westminster KJV Bible in Black Meriva Calfskin

I love the layout of the Westminster Reference Bible. TBS did a great job on this one. I enjoy mine.

Looked at 4 different review in the same bible and yours was the best. Enjoyed the angle and the fact you brought the Bible close. Almost like it was in my own hands. Great!

Lots of note paper and a nice size concordance, no red distracting letters. Yea price is very reasonable I got the hardbound version. Nice dark writing. TBS knows how to do bibles.

I just received this bible this morning and it’s excellent for the price and reading it has been a blessing

Having spent a couple of weeks researching all my options, I have - finally - ordered one of these. Good printer and binder (and NOT from China where they persecute people for their faiths), good price, clear, readable font, reasonable thickness of paper and some interesting information above and beyond the usual (I am thinking especially of the tables of units and measures). I dithered between this and the calfsplit KJV Concord (with thumb index) but the extra £40 - for the Concord - only seemed to get me thinner paper, an old fashioned font and slightly better maps. I am not a collector (this will replace a cumbersome Oxford paperback as my only Bible) so I am not bothered about goatskin that can be rolled into tortillas for £200, or any of the other expensive nonsense (how big is your ‘yapp’?) that I would feel guilty about buying and be frightened to take out of the box! This TBS version seems to have a very practical, and good value set of criteria balanced for everyday use, comfort (on eye and wrist) and longevity (I hope).

excellent review Mark. Lovely bible. However the first smaller print edition was a huge publishing mistake IMO. The type of people who read the KJV are not the type of people (i.e. teenagers or twenty somethings) that read NIV,THE Message etc.
