I've learned to never discount a child's prayer. When my now 28 year old son was 5 we were in the process of moving from CA to TX - his father was working in TX and I was at home with he and his 2 year old sister. One night as I was tucking the kids in for the night my son prayed that he would see his daddy tomorrow. There was no planned flight, and I was just thinking this poor kid is going to be disappointed by an unanswered prayer. Not even an hour later the phone rang and his daddy wanted to warn me he'd be driving up our driveway in 30 minutes and not be alarmed. Yep, that 5 year old trusted in the Lord, and the Lord answered his sweet prayer. And... the Lord answered that exact prayer TWICE before we moved. Nothing is impossible for the Lord!!

When Chad was telling the story, every little eye was riveted on him! God bless y'all, raising Godly children! Stay strong!♥️

It's such a wonderful time to give our children a chance to talk about things tht are bothering them, and to teach them that Jesus cares about every little thing about us. ♡♡ Idk what we would do without HIM!!!♡ what you said about them getting to see their prayers answered is so so true. My kids are just 4 and 2 but have already seen Jesus answer their prayers (a home when we didnt have one, a new car, even food at one point) and they already KNOW that Jesus can trully do anything!! ♡♡

Every night before my 3 year old goes to sleep we ask her what she would like to thank God for. It helps her with prayer and to be grateful.

I really appreciate how you keep God the focus of your channel, and not yourself/your house tour/fake lashes/designer purses, etc. You talk about God in every video, which is so refreshing and RARE. Love your humbleness :)

I LOVE IT! Wish I was raised this way. Wasn't as good as y'all with my kids but better than my childhood, but will do better with my grandchildren, Lord willing.

This was so special. It always encourages me to see you all and remember there are people that love the Lord and are doing all they can to teach their children about God and to live for Him. I would greatly appreciate your prayers for my niece and our family. Her home burnt the 17th and they lost everything. Far worse her 16 year old son didnt make it out. We are so devastated. He accepted the Lord as his Savior and we rejoice in that. Learning to live without him will be so hard. We know God has strengthened us to get through the funeral. Please pray for my niece and the family.

The kids got sucked right in and you had their full attention. You are a great storyteller and you can tell they love your stories.

I’ve got a 4-year old and a 1-year old! My husband reads the Goodnight Bible every night with them. It has a story, questions, a prayer, and a word to remember like “pray,” “helper,” or “heart”- whatever word was focused on in the story. My 4-year-old LOVES it! We read it with them before bed. Thanks for sharing how y’all do it! Praying the Lord blesses y’all for it!

Every evening after dinner growing up my family had a devotional together. We would eat dinner, where we were expected to show our good manners like napkins in laps, elbows off the table, eating not talking, etc. Then as dinner started to wind down, my dad would tell a dumb joke or a funny story and we would all laugh and talk at once about our day, then one of the kids who could read would read the designated scripture and my parents would engage us in conversation like you all did in this video. All this around the dinner table. Our dinner hour was a literal hour. These are among the sweetest memories I have of my childhood so many decades ago. Your children will cherish these times.

First time watching one of their videos. More dads like that are needed to plant those seeds in their children’s lives who’ll come to appreciate and know how important family devotions are. I remember my dad letting us have turns with some readings.

We really got a blessing from this, would Chad consider doing a weekly devotion on the channel?

When my kids were little, we did a memory verse for a couple of weeks or so (as long as it took for each of them to put it in their heart). We would usually try to tie in an actinity to reinforce the verse one night a week. For us, Friday nights worked. We had coloring pages or a hunt for objects or made bracelets. I really felt like each one had a learning style. Visual, auditory, etc. By reinforcing through the week and the projects, we prayerfully touched on each style. Some wonderful memories and keepsakes were made as well. Thank you for sharing and God bless your family.

It is so encouraging to see that you are making this a daily routine. The earlier children build their own personal relationship with Jesus that better, its precious and our biggest responsibility as parents/grandparents. They'll see we aren't perfect, don't expect them to be but God loves them and He is always with them. So very proud of you, what a beautiful family you've been blessed with.

Chad and Erin, I remember way back at the beginning of Bringing Up Bates, when you two weren't feeling very cheerful, but Erin put her best foot forward in helping bless Whitney and Zach with a lovely baby shower. "...for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap(Galatians 6:7)." I realized back then that you were sowing into baby showers! Love this so much. Mine are grown, sweet to see. I was blessed ttoday to be speaking with someone. I am Catholic, speaking about the rosary. I pulled one out of my pocket and said they were blessed by the pope. He asked if he could touch them, I said, please keep them.

1st I would like to thank you guys for sharing a part of your daily devotions with us. Your children are so blessed to have parents who teach about things that are about every day life situations.. Chad you done an outstanding job. I know as a child my daddy would teach me and my brother about the Lord, and he would do a scripture like you guys do and he would do examples from when he was a little boy. He went all in and my Mother would pray with us. My children we had a daily devotional book and done that and then as they were learning to read, I would let them read scriptures from the Bible and we tried reading the entire Bible by the time school was out.. Some days were harder than others but you as a parent have to keep encouraging them just do their best, God knows your heart... I do have a prayer request if you all don’t mind me asking you to remember a cousin of mine. Her marriage isn’t what it was, her husband after 20yrs wants to end the marriage. She knows that God can put it back together but her husband don’t want to here anything pertaining to God! She thinks he’s running from God too. Please pray that God can put her marriage back together she’s a mess but she knows we serve a powerful God and He’s still on the Throne! Thank you in advance!🙏🏻

I love this. Brings back memories of all of my siblings, cousins, and me sitting in the floor having family devotion. We oftentimes lived with our cousins or grandparents before we finally got our own home when I was 15 (maybe 16). There were 6 of us kids and our mom along with our 3 cousins and their parents and another cousin plus whatever friends were over. So, our devotion time was like homeschooling and church together. The adults would read Bible stories then ask us questions on how it related to our own lives or things we’d seen. That was back in the 1980s and ‘90s. Now, it’s just me and my husband. We have our devotional time to but it’s not the same without children. I’m blessed with 3 nephews and a niece I get to help teach on occasion, though. Y’all are doing an awesome job.

Completely adorable ! I wanna start doing this with my little one. Sometimes you get so busy running and doing that you don’t prioritize setting that important time aside to do these things and I want to implement this into our routine ♥️
