I would love to hear more about your experience with Generations curriculum!

I would love to share more about Generations! Definitely on my list. In short we are loving it. I mostly just use it with my 6 year old, but we all use the history portion. Is there a specific subject from them you would like to see more about.

I love that there are so many options to choose from! We actually use Biblioplan as a literature based curriculum. We mostly use the read alouds and the text is the supplement for us. We are a history loving family and have found it to be a great fit for us but I don’t use it with my young children. I think it’s also important to note that it is a classical history curriculum and with that comes TONS of info that lines up with timeline songs and memory work as well as a big focus on art as well (hence the pictures 😉) I loved hearing your review and was happy to contribute! And I’m also using Generations with my younger kiddo 😉

I tried Biblioplan a few times. It really didn't remind me of a Christian curriculum. There was too much paganism to teach intertwined. I skipped over so much that it ended up not being worth it. I love Generations so much❤ it's night and day compared to many curriculums. Also, MFW for Middle School or the FREE lamp and light living curriculum for elementary:)

I hadn't considered the teaching of other religious beliefs with younger children, but that's very insightful. We also prefer to wait to go into depth on those issues. Generations is great with presenting just enough but not too much information in those areas for the right grade level. Thank you for your comment!!!

I would love to hear which curriculum you do use for history. I’m going to have a 5th and 8th grader next year and I would love to find something more fun and interesting with loving books that I could possibly even combine my kids for and do as a family. We’ve been using Mystical of History, but I don’t feel it’s a good fit for my younger child. I also feel that at least half of the time, it’s boring and the activities are boring as well. Looking to switch.

I LOVE your quilt type art piece behind you! can you tell me if you made it or where you got it from?
@FamilyStyleLearning

I made it out of foam, fluff, hot glue and fabric, it's attached to a cardboard backing. It's really light and hangs on pop can tabs. Thanks for noticing and asking!

I own this. I was so excited to use it for 3rd to 8th graders looked through several sides but still haven't opened it after 6 months.

If you still want to just remember no one does it all. Make it work for you. It's a tool. Use what you want and leave the rest

@FamilyStyleLearning I know I have to let it work for me. I figure we will just reading through it and do the mapping. I saw the generations taking America for Jesus and had some serious FOMO

@@faithhomeschool2789 😆❤️ We are really enjoying the Generations America's! It isn't nearly as in depth but it's a great read at age level. Very gospel focused! Highly recommend!

Did you get the textbook for the younger or older children ?
@FamilyStyleLearning

There is one text book for the whole family. I showed that one, then there is an additional text for high school. I did not get that one.

We were looking at this for my first grader but decided to skip it this next year. We are looking into Without Doors Early America now. There’s actually no reviews on RU-vid about it. It’s literature based, and CM inspired.
