Ruben, it was a pleasure to meet you at last, many thanks for telling me about your car on camera. I am amazed at the level of detail and work that you have put into this.
I’d seen this car couple of times, but never managed to track the owner down until today’s show. The passion he had for the car and a massive amount of work he’s done to bring it up to standard with all the period correct accessories was truly amazing.
Thank you for your comment on the car. They worth saving it's something you can spend months on the road and not come across another one. Never quit on this little cars
The Seicento really is becoming something of a modern cult classic. Only a few years ago I used to see a Seicento Schumacher on the school run and the owner had no idea of how desirable these cars are becoming. Z3 coupe always did look.a little odd but certainly have a reputation as a great drivers car. I still hope to try a Z3 at some point. That Phase 2 Clio V6 looks interesting, I wonder if that's the same car I saw at Autos de France? It's the interior ID pack leather interior that makes me wonder as it's a rare option so would be unlikely to see two the same colour combo. I really liked the R50.and R53 Mini but they seem to have grown a bit since and become a caricature of itself. The Honda MSX was a great car . Unmolested Civic Type R a rarity these days. I still think the XR4i 3 door looks great. The Renault 5 Campus did run for a while on the MK2 facelift model from around 1987 to 1996 but there were some changes. Most were 1108cc and four speed but the last three or four years or so the car was fitted with a 1390cc fuel injected engine and five speed gearbox. They ran alongside the Clio as a budget model instead of the MK1 Twingo which was never built in RHD for the UK market. The RS mk2 Twingo were great value when new. Nice to see a MK2 Laguna, I loved the one I had and yes they were the model that introduced the hands free key card system.which is now seen in so many cars.
Thanks Mark, the Seicentro owner was a brilliant model expert, having all the original period correct Abarth accessories which he’d sourced from all over Europe. I love the Clio V6, they just look like they’ve come off a rally stage don’t they? All in all, s surprisingly good late season show despite the freezing temperatures!
Thank you for your lovely comment on the seicento. They need to be saved even everyone thinks they are a 300£ max car and that all of them are rotten and deserve to be scrapped and not saved. It's crazy the amount of people that look at it at these shows and laugh and make silly comments about it without any knowledge and saying it's a Abarth wannabe , little did they know they came out of factory like that.
Thanks for that, I guessed it wasn’t a wrap but good to know an accurate colour. I agree, it is amazing and stands out from the standard colour palette.
TVR..Where did it all go wrong ?. The cars they made are so standout you wonder why they are no longer making cars today. I still think a Cerbera would show an Aston or a Jag a clean pair of heels but they were an esoteric choice. Always stop to chat to a TVR owner at car shows as they always have something interesting to say ! Small,UK sports car companies like Lotus are doing well but sadly I don't think we will see TVR rise from the ashes. I am pleased you captured the lesser spotted C55 estate. That is such a "Q" car ( until you hear it!). I would love one but I can't think of a quicker way to go bankrupt. Well done for your output and this year. Great ( not too long !) content. Hope to catch up with you in 2024.
@@kevinbray9550 Kevin, thanks for your support this year too. I think cheaper (arguably better built) competition took the legs from underneath TVR, but nothing since has had the sheer British bulldog character like a TVR. Their threatened restart looks like it’ll never happen as the car they proposed will be out of date before it sees production… what a pity.
