A total car 'anorak' using You Tube to showcase classic cars with a mix of classic show walkarounds, some occasional basic home 'spannering' with my own 1990 Mercedes-Benz and the odd modern classic review.
Despite the dodgy production and editing I still hope you'll enjoy watching the videos as much as I do making them!
Sure, there were some nice Classic Fords , here at this show. But there were also too many modded modern Fords driven by chavs, with backfiring big bore exhausts and 500 watt subwoofers in the boot.
@lordmmx1303 and the Leganza was one of their best designs, in recent times I don’t recall seeing any in the UK, numbers left must be in single digits?
Absolutely brilliant stuff There's something about a poverty spec car Love that three door MK4 cortina Don't tell anyone but I really like those Scorpio's in that ultima spec Great content as usual 👍
The Tawny mk 1 Escort was an XL, not an L. The rectangular headlights and different hubcaps, plus badging signify the main external differences. My dad had an 1100L and I still have the brochure from 1972. Good video, keep em coming.
Back in 93 I had a citrine yellow mondeo for free for 3 weeks…even back then it was a cool car…I worked for a big car rental company and one of these was shipped to us…no one would rent it because of the colour…my manager at the time was a lady called ‘lynn’…she gave me the car for free and was a fantastic boss…those times are now gone sadly
Thanks for confirming… I think some did shout that at me in the background as well. I was thinking Roman bronze but I realised that’s a much later colour.
Thank you for featuring my little 1.6S! We did meet last year and you done a little feature! 350mile trip for me. The trims are standard for this car, there is a couple options but two variants of that particular style. LX come with them and poss the xr2i. Difference being a bigger bowl or smaller bowl in the middle! S models come with a bigger bowl! Someone from the mk3 owners club taught me that so took me a while to find the correct ones/part number!😎
Excellent, yes I do remember from last year. So much rarer than the XR2i as well and it seems well up to long distances! I did doubt myself on the wheel trims as I think I was thinking of the Mk2 XR2 where alloys were optional.
@@Lot76CARS good as gold on the long run! Ah yes, that makes sense! Mine does have a lot of 'leftovers' from the MK2 Xr2 as standard from factory! Seems ford had a lot of surplus parts! The steel wheels being one are MK2 xr2 from factory just different style of trims. They're wider than standard mk3🙂 and of course the engine, 1.6 carb'd cvh rather than the injection! It's a cool variant! And I use it alot as intended!😎
You never see pre facelift MK2 Granada's yet we've both seen one only a few weeks apart. I can't say I've ever come across the LWB granny before though I think a few councils may have used stretched limo versions. Great to see the Fiesta 1.6S, I saw one two years ago at FOTU but haven't seen another one since. A former work colleague had the 150hp.Fiesta ST and said it was great but could have benefited from a sixth gear. The MK1 focus were great and looked so modern at launch. A neighbour bought one several years ago for £500 and ran it for a few years without having to spend money on it and sold it for as much again.when they were finished with it. 1600E Orion really is hens teeth, don't think I've seen one in the metal. Great to see a Probe and probably the best colour in blue. Interesting to see the 1700T as I'd forgotten about those. My pick would be the RS200 though. The road car.versions looked like a great little sports car with performance to back up the looks. That base model MK3 Fiesta reminds me so much of the ones my Dad used to hire on occasion in the early 90's when he was between cars.
I go to a lot of classic car shows, but I’ve never seen another one, only on another RU-vidrs channel Johnny gets cash as he’s got one of the rare Hendy cars. I was hoping to see you to get some video shots of the inside as the interior looks epic.! if you ever want to feature the car on the channel feel free to reach out to me!!
Good video Simon. Thanks for posting. Love a fast Ford ( well what do you expect from an Essex boy !). I think they owe a fair number of sales to their various Motorsport ventures in rallying and circuit racing. Name me a desirable new Ford apart from the Mustang ?. I'll wait.
I just realised I’d had a Fiesta, 3x Sierras, Mondeo, 3x Orions and 3 x Escorts…they were both the go to brand and had credibility.. when Focus goes next year then there is nothing with driver appeal for me anymore, sad really!
I could not get to show looks like I missed a great day glad you showed the mondeo mk1 citrine as I own one it’s being stripped for restoring she is not in bad condition im taken her back to metal then a full respray and restore back to original as I can get her keep up the good work love your videos
Yes, the Mondeo stood out (would be difficult not to) and I was fascinated about the back story. Good luck with the resto, if ever you want to see it on the channel please drop me a line! Cheers, Simon
9:29 is my friends late fathers MG Montego. It was being used as a "shelf" until he passed away last year. It appeared on the RU-vid Channel "The Late Brake Show" - Barn Find Unicorn 80's Turbo Classic Car - Will It Run? 10:49 That would be the Ford Courier (or Courier Kombi which was the seated version with panel windows in the back). Had a run from 1991 - 2002 with 3 different facelifts, was then dropped when the Ford Transit Connect van come along. 🙂
Missed an opportunity of buying a mk5 fiesta st, still think about that car whenever I see one on the road, this video too reminded me of that car that I almost bought. It only had 30k kilometers on the clock and it was back in 2022, with all the papers backing it up too.
@@Lot76CARS that one was like a third or a fourth car in some big mansion in Nürnberg, it barely had any miles and the owner was an old lady... For some reason I thought that I'd find some better deal somewhere else, ended up wasting my time on old mercs and lost the fiesta offer too. Pretty sad
Nice show! My parents owned a Carlton automatic like that GL at the start. It was one of the last ones 1986 2.2i CD. I got to drive it a few times when I passed my driving test and it was a delight to drive. Interesting history about the Monteverdi.
Really enjoyed this one Wow that Carlton, I had a B registered one in that colour, CD spec . It was beautiful, the memories came flooding back Thanks again for the fabulous content 👍
The Sabre looks interesting. I always did like the TVR Griffith 500. The Europa is a very rare sighting, perhaps even more so than the Jenson Interceptor. I've only ever seen pictures of the Monteverdi, what a fantastic looking car. Was that a Lamborghini Kalpa I spotted in the background or a Silhouette? Last time I saw either was Festival Italia a good few years ago. Love that Morris Traveler and spot that tray inside the passenger door. I spotted that Esprit Turbo reflected in the glass of the XR2, one of my all time dream cars. Nice to see the racing Puma. They cost as much as a Subaru Impreza which had a larger turbo charged engine and four wheel drive which definitely hurt sales at the time. I really like the Vitesse, and the Herald for that matter but that six cylinder engine and quad headlamps are a nice touch. Nice GT6 spotted there too. I've become very fond of the River P4 in recent years after having sat in one. That MK1 Jag looks great with those rear wheel covers. That BMC training vehicle is very interesting, never knew that existed. The 924S looks great. Sadly the lesser versions probably don't get the respect they rightly deserve.
The owner of the Monteverdi and the Lamborghini (Silhouette) was the same chap… now that’s a car collection! It’s also been featured on the Number 27 channel! Sad that the 924 aren’t appreciated by some of the Porsche community I’m told…
From Marina to Monteverdi..Sounds like a travelogue ! Loving the irony that the version of the Vauxhall Carlton is now practically extinct having been a go to choice for middle management back in the days of company cars. You can tell your grandchildren you saw one " in the metal" Simon !😂
