The weekend before Halloween, it's the return of Scary Cars to Bicester Heritage, dressed up cars, dressed up drivers, or a car with a bit of a reputation… It's Sunday 29 October afterall!!
My first time at an “Assembly” and wasn’t sure what to expect but I’d also have liked to see a few more classics. I’ll do my best to deliver next week at the Lancaster Classic Motor Show!
@@SpacedOdyssey not at all, appreciate the feedback and to be very honest I’d expected a bigger turnout but it was the last run out with my car before SORN for winter so I gave it a try. They have a Collecting Cars event next month which might be a bit better. Sadly, the show season is at an end then😭
An interestingly diverse range of cars as always. I do like that Porsche 944S, so very 1980's. I remember the MX5 NA with the 1.6 engine and steel wheels. I think those were also used for the full scale Ridge Racer arcade game in the mid 90's where you sat in a real MX5 Infront of a large projector screen. I remember the rave reviews about the Nobel, I think the only issue was that they had to use the ford gearbox with the transverse ford V6 engine, something that changed with later cars I'm a bit scratchy on my pre war car knowledge but a few nice examples there. That Triumph looks stunning and reminds me of the early Bugatti being painted that shade of blue. That black and gold Abarth I believe is a Scorpionaro, can't remember if these were numbered or not as there were so many special.editions but I think the produced a few thousand units. The Quatroporte are an impressive car that are seldom seen. The BMW M2 remind me if the 2002, probably the compact proportions. The phase 1 Clio V6 I think we're around 230hp and 250hp on those phase 2. Definitely a non standard colour.
Thanks Mark, for a late season show it brought out a few unicorns. Thanks for the information on the Abarth.. I like them, but there are just so many 'specials' to keep track of!
@@Lot76CARS Yes and many but not all are badged as a 695 rather than a 595, some have the 180 bhp engine, but not all. Some are numbered but again not all. The.syandvout specials i.remember are the Anniversario, tributo Ferrari, Tributo Masserati (which were mega expensive) and the Revale but it's not easy to keep track. 😅 I still think the Fiat badged model with the TwinAir105 engine is my pick of the bunch.
Got a very different " vibe" off this meeting compared to the " Scramble" events. I guess it being a members only event and late in the year are limiting factors. I doubt the changeable weather helped. Hope it was worthwhile for you to go Simon. Just got the feeling from your video that turnout was low,
