@B_Bodziak I think it really may have been true at the time. We were all looking in too many other directions, and the GOP gets in because it insists on ONE direction, as horrible as that one direction may be. Dems have a short time to get it together right now, and it's probably just as well.
I also think the timing is underappreciated. This has gone way better with him stepping down after the Vance pick and the GOP convention than it would have if he had dropped in the first week after the debate.

I have peen pointing out for a while now that Texans barely participated in the revolutionary war, but didn't fight, begged us to fight their war for them, tried to separate from the US, and then lost the civil war, too. Now, they are the most openly patriotic people, like they're trying to prove something. Do you know why I think everything is big in Texas? This comes from years of traveling to Texas, and I just got sick of turning the other cheek. They want to move us away from the ideals that this country was founded upon, like the idea that the federal government exists to protect it's citizens, not to give immunity to federal officials or claim that states have rights that people don't, like they don't believe in the seperation of church and state.
