Sleeping on the "Big Agnes" - hihi. The guy who came up with that name must have had good humor. Must be a really comfy mat - thanks for showing!

Thank you for actually testing it out before you told us how great it is. Excellent review of the Big Agnes. My pad is 310 grams or about 11 oz. I have to watch the weight cause I have won heaviest pack for the past 4 years in a row!

I also use the b.a. air core in conjunction with my b.a. lost ranger, and it is so damn comfortable, and warm, that I sleep better in that system than in my own bed. And I can also confirm your experience with its durable construction. The only down side for me is that it takes me about five minutes to blow up, but its a small price to pay for ultimate trail comfort.

@NotSoOldHippy I have to say, I like my indulgence. : ) I was in the Sierras about 4 years ago and an older buddy of my, a Vietnam vet, slept on slab of granite for 2 nights with no padding. I couldn't believe it. Meanwhile, I snoozed away on my Big Agnes.

@deepcreek101 I use the Lost Ranger and it works great. I have broad shoulders so Big Agness is the way to go for me. I can sleep on a rock ledge like a baby with this mattress. I absolutely love it. I don't know much about the Big Agnes Tents. I use an REI $99 tent if I use one at all. Usually I just throw up a tarp or sleep on the open ground. Thanks for the comment.

Do you need a pump? Or just blow

Thanks for this review, I'm one of those that has a tough time sleeping with a regular foam mat. Plus, here in SW MT you can go from average summertime to nearly winter conditions @ 10K feet in a heartbeat so warmth and shelter is important. Been looking to update to a BA sleeping duo and this + a Lost Ranger w/ a S2S liner will probably be it. Would kinda like to try one of their Copper Spur UL1 tents, too, but I'm nervous about them handling the high winds we can run into (40kts.+).

@steintanz Yeah, there are some funny Big Agnes-related t-shirts... "I slept with Big Agnes", etc.

I still use my old blue foam mat. I've wanted to try out an air matress.

@EconoChallenge If I review, its only because I've used it more times than I can count. I've got a beat up back from playing football and the Big Agnes saves me from waking up stiff. Enjoy the Spring in Canada my friend. I hope you and your team have some safe outings.

@Woodenarrows Thank you so much for that response. It is just the most amazing sleep device. I have friends that toss and turn all night on their thing little mattresses while I sleep like I'm at the Hilton. It doesn't seem fair. : )

Do you use the dog as a pillow?

@TS50ER lol.... that's my wife's little rat dog... he wouldn't last 5 seconds on the sidewalk outside of our residence, let alone the woods.

@NotSoOldHippy Well, my back is so torn up from playing football that if I sleep on the ground like I've done so many times before, I might not be able to get my boots on in the morning.

@davidsquall351 I tell you what David, you will love this thing. It is 27 ounces, however, so you need to decide if you are willing to carry that kind of weight. I think its totally worth it. No matter where I go, I am guaranteed to seep like a king.

All the glue has given loose around the edges the mat is useless I think I spent 75 bucks On It originally probably wouldn't have bought an inflatable mat if I knew I had to buy one a new one every couple of years

Worst mattress I've ever owned. Micro air holes after a couple uses. Just go for the classic thermarest basecamp. Save money, good insulation, hardy and comfort.
