There is no bigger moment in Hip Hop, for Atlanta and the whole south than when Dre said 'The South got something to say at the source awards. Nothing will ever top that out of Atlanta. Changed the whole trajectory of Hip Hop. Atlanta will always be about Outkast. If we really wanna be real about the fashion, Dre was the first one outta Atlanta to test the waters with the different fashion. It was weird to us at the time, but look at how these dudes dress now.
Outkast definitely kicked in the door but I think future influenced Atlanta sound more and he have many more people trying to immulate his sound then Outkast

Just because future influenced a younger generation while an older generation got older started having families and outgrew a past mindset doesn't mean OutKast impact should be minimized. T.I had the biggest influence. In the sense of making trap Muzik. Now trap music is basically a sub genre of hip hop and is the main genre going today. Future had a lot of influence with what it sounds like today but you also got give that credit to lil Wayne with the whole auto tune sound. More people wanted to sound like Wayne not necessarily future but most rappers subject matter can be linked heavier to future. So TI. For the genre, Lil Wayne for the sound, Future for the subject matter. OutKast had a bigger influence outside the music. Especially when you got to Atlanta and see how people dress and move a lot of that is outkast

He is not being serious sometimes I think ppl try to be contrarian without any supporting facts. To question Outkast impact on Atlanta and the region. Outkast set the stage for being who you are and being from the south. This is one of my biggest complaints about hip hop no other genre does this except for hip hop. Personal preference is not the same as who had the most impact we all have our personal preferences but facts are facts.
