I was definitely outside when it was released and lots of my friends swore it was hard I was an MJG guy but oddly Ball turned out to be the more consistent artist in my opinion. I am not taking anything away from Andre 3000 as a great southern rap lyricist, but Scarface is the TRUE GODFATHER of Southern Rap. Scarface is in a class by himself for Southern Rap. As a matter of fact, Scarface is the first rapper from the south to be taken SERIOUSLY as a REAL EMCEE coming from the south. Scarface goes back to the very early 90s when EASTCOAST AND WESTCOAST rappers dominated Hip Hop. Back then, Scarface singlehandedly held Southern Rap on his shoulders. Scarface was to THE SOUTH what Ice Cube and Ice T was to THE WEST and what Kool G Rap was to THE EAST. Scarface has the BEST hood storytelling lyrics of THE SOUTH, plus he had SUBSTANCE in his lyrics as well. There are a couple of other Southern Rappers who are Great like Andre 3000, Big Boi, Ludacris, Mystical, and T.I; but NONE OF THEM could EVER touch SCARFACE in his prime. SCARFACE is the G.O.A.T of THE SOUTH. All other Southern Rappers come after SCARFACE.

I'm taking The Geto boys all day, The Resurrection was one of the greatest albums of all time. You can't put Andre over Brad. There's no skips on none of Faces albums and Deeply Rooted was wayyy better than The Love Below. BHigh must Be high.

If we are talking about body of work it’s not even close. Stacks doesn’t even have a solo rap album. All his best work is with OutKast. All of Face’s best work is without the Geto Boys. It’s such a great debate… and to remain non emotional about it is very hard. Such respect to Run DMC, their legend cannot be disrespected. However, B High is correct. When 3000 said the south got something to say, that statement unlocked the South in so many ways… and made ears really listen to the fact that the south has so many lyricists that needed to be taken seriously. Geto Boys and Scarface are legends as well…. But we cannot overlook the GLOBAL brand that is OutKast…. They are the greatest hip hop group of all time. PERIOD…
