Southernplayaliystic from beginning to end, is still my most-played Outkast album... which to be completely honest, was more like an Organized Noize album that featured Outkast.
How about these comparisons. Which artist/group was better? (1) Hitman Sammy Sam verzuz JT Money (of Poison Clan). (2) Ghetto Mafia verzuz Top Authority, (3) Royal C (of The Hard Boys) verzuz Al Kapone, (4) Playa Fly verzuz T.I., (5) Kilo Ali verzuz DJ Smurf, (6) Raheem The Dream verzuz Kingpin Skinny Pimp, (7) D-Rock Ghetti verzuz Tommy Wright III, (8) T-Rock verzuz Verb (formerly of 2 Live Crew) (9) DJ Kizzy Rock verzuz Gangsta Blac, (10) Cool Breeze verzuz Indo G., (11) The Dayton Family verzuz Dirty (aka Dirty Boyz).
@@HypnoticHollywood CHRONIC is historic “RAP” album, however, AQUEMINI transcends just rap. It stands against any and all other styles of music. It had rap, soul, rock, spoken word, jazz, classical, blues, country, alternative, funk, pop, dance, etc.
@@TheDirtySouth404 I feel that needs to happen more often.. OutKast put Atlanta on when it comes to Rap.. I know it was others but they put Atlanta Rap on the map..
The two albums are a tie, because they're different. Southernplayalistic had more of a street feel. ATLiens was more radio friendly. Both are great, but different. They''re both tied for me.
I got Atliens! Sounds like OutKast needs their own verzuz against each other 🔥 I speak for most when I say this, I appreciate y’all & this channel family 💯
ATLiens is a top 10 album of all time. SouthernPlayistic is great, but ATLiens is a flawless masterpiece. Wicked just likes to speak to get these reactions.
ATLiens is good, but top 10 all time? Which one of these would you remove (these albums are in no particular order). 1. Illmatic - Nas 2. Amerikkas Most Wanted - Ice Cube 3. The Low-End Theory - A Tribe Called Quest 4. Ready to Die - Notorious B.I.G. 5. Niggaz4life - NWA 6. Fear of a Black planet - Public Enemy 8. Enter the Wu-Tang (36 chambers) - Wu-Tang Clan 9. The Chronic - Dr. Dre 10. Paid in Full - Eric B & Rakim
Wicked is absolutely right.....Southernplayalistic is the best outkast album!!!!💯 all outkast albums are classic. Both Southernplayalistic is the best!!
ATLIENS is the best. The execution of that record is still ahead of it’s time while being copied the world over in so many different genres. Big Boi and Dre’s bars, flows and concepts with that organize noize eary but funky beats set a tone. This is one of the GOAT Hip Hop LPs. Btw that lawsuit was BS I heard that Rosa’s family wasn’t even tripping like that it was her estate looking for a cash grab.
I agree with with wicked in this one. That atleins album when it came out no one really was banging that album‼️‼️ they had the one single off that album that’s popular but not to many other hits on it. At least in Arkansas we was still playing southernplayalisticcadillacmuzik‼️‼️‼️
@@gogettertv6402 right and when it came out fans at the time wasn’t feeling that adjustment. If I recall right it got poor reviews in the source during that time
Aquemini is their Magnum Opus…Top 5 hip hop album ever in my eyes. That was the equivalent of an athlete in their prime, where the athleticism and skills meet at the apex. The 1st album was more street the 2nd album the most lyrical and Aquemini was the perfect blend of the two and expanded even further. Went places musically hip hop had never been to that point.
@@hou-tanclan7612 I absolutely loved Stankonia !! Red Velvet is an underrated classic to me from that album .. I totally agree, Love Below/Speakerboxx, definitely gave Outkast a 5 for 5 !!
Southernplayalisic Ain't no thang but a chicken wang Hootie Hoo. Get up get out Crumble and herb This was one of the Hardest southern albums ever. I remember my brother bumping outkast in the early 90s. We traveled to atl from Tennessee to go to freaknik in 93. Mane those were the best days ever.
I agree that southernplayalisticadillacmuzik is their greatest album, it was so different at the time Andre voice was different his cadence, him and Big Boi were the perfect match. Rico, Ray and Sleepy production crazy!
Aquemini is the best. Synthesizer and Return of the G have classic content that apply to the world we're in today. "I'm ready to rob, steal and kill anything that threats mine." As a protector, no truer words have been spoken
Aquemini hands down from the return of the g to Liberation to the end it’s a all time classic best Atlanta album and top three hip hop album of all time
I've been saying this for years, every beat, every flow, every song on SouthernplaylisticCadillacmusic is fire. I'll never forget waking up and seeing them on BET & The Box, Andre 3000 hands waving on the Players Ball video, both of them flowing they ass off. All their albums are good
Fam, Liberation alone makes the album. Southern is cool, but OutKast didn't truly become Outkast until they made ATLiens and the seasoning kicked in with the Junior album.
So we all just gon disregard Stankonia? In my opinion that’s when Outkast really went neck & neck. All of their albums are an evolution each one. They each got better & better.
@@ursomajor4038 for me Aquemini is their number one album but Stankonia isn’t far behind .. their first four albums are all in my top 50 of all time .. maybe higher ..
Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik! This laid the foundation for Atlanta. And also when you listen to the music and look at the videos, you feel like you're in Atlanta. Side note: They're trippin. 3000 killed on Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik
Everything before this album was booty shake in the A! We never heard niggas from Atlanta with lyrics like up North & funk like the West, so you damn right this was the foundation!
@@intelligentidiot78 not all booty shake like my man Wicked right there we had Gangsta music, trap music, The Hard Boyz, Ghetto Mafia, Sam the hit man, CMP, Success n Effect and Organize Noise, but Outkast put the lyrics to go on the map.
Man hard to call this one. All 3 represent a different time in my life. All 3 are classics for different reasons. Can't call it. I still bump them all to this day.
How about these comparisons. Which artist/group was better? (1) Hitman Sammy Sam verzuz JT Money (of Poison Clan). (2) Ghetto Mafia verzuz Top Authority, (3) Royal C (of The Hard Boys) verzuz Al Kapone, (3) Playa Fly verzuz T.I., (4) Kilo Ali verzuz DJ Smurf, (5) Raheem The Dream verzuz King Pin Skinny Pimp, (6) D-Rock Ghetti verzuz Tommy Wright III, (7) T-Rock verzuz Verb (formerly of 2 Live Crew) (8) DJ Kizzy Rock verzuz Gangsta Blac, (9) Cool Breeze verzuz Indo G., (10) The Dayton Family verzuz Dirty (aka Dirty Boyz).
“ Even the sun goes down, heroes eventually die, horoscopes often lie and sometimes why Y, nothin is for sho, nothin is for certain ,nothin lasts forever but until they close the curtain, it’s him and I Aquemini “✊🏾
ATLiens is Outkast greatest album IMO. It broke the Atlanta rapper stereotype & gained the respect of their peers & fans. Andre3000 established himself as a lyrically creative thought-provoking emcee on the album. It's the album that made everbody take them serious.
Great discussion men, i've always thought ATLiens was their best work i always tell folks ATLiens is what you thought Aquemini was. You saw both artists mature GREATLY between these three classics. And man.........ATLiens had the perfect finale which was "Growing Old".
To be honest I went back and listened to all 3 ablums after this debate and I must say we all are wrong about this all 3 ablums are great I was riding with wicked but after listening I see where B high going and atliens a damn classic...3 of the greatest ablums ever period...
B HIGH...I love the discussion! To me, I believe STANKONIA is their best effort. I don't count Speakerboxxx/The Love Below because they recorded separately. Idlewild was a soundtrack. So really, STANKONIA is the full evolution. Every single album was sonically better than the last. There is no greater duo. Blessings to the Earth from the Musical Gods. Much love.
B- High is right on point with this one… Aquemini album 💿 is the best by the time I got to track 5… I was bumping so hard I had to turn it off! Whew! 😂
Best OutKast Album is always be (Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik) that album introduce Goodie Mob and the whole Dungeon Family. But all of OutKast Albums is Classic to me and the Next Versa i like to see is OutKast and Eightball & MJG that would make history.
@@resonatingtruths Not easy to place Idlewild album among the others, but I will say that _the Idlewild movie was a slept on classic, that shoulda been more mainstream_
@ Resonating Truth, I have a problem with Idlewild because conceptually, it's not as cohesive as all the other albums! Is it a standalone album or is it a soundtrack album? Southern kicked the door open, ATLiens proved that they weren't a fluke, Aquemini was showcase of styles (pimp & a poet), Stank was genre bending & SP+LB was also a showcase of 2 sides of the same coin! On LB, tell me you couldn't still hear Big Boi silently on each track & vice versa with SP! Idlewild is slept on because it had no singular direction! Great album though!
@@intelligentidiot78 I agree 1000% with your entire comment. The album doesn’t flow together at all. The Older I get the more the songs grow on me, but it just doesn’t feel like an outkast album.
Say it again for the people in the back...‼️ Southerplayalisticcadillacmusic is definitely the best album. Every album that came after was a change in them.
Good morning and DAMN what a question to log on to! I own on 3 albums and I cannot call it here in Cincy!!!!!!! Them 3 albums still get HEAVY play to this day in my system!!!!!!!
Soon as i heard playas ball i knew KAST was that group!!! The album dropped oh my goodness CLASSIC!!! Seen them in concert few times here in KY GREAT SHOW. 1ST ALBUM MY FAVE ALSO MY FAVE SONG WERE GONNA GET CHA HIGH!!!! SPLCM
Atliens is OutKast masterpiece. Perfect blend of the southernplayalistics and Aquemini. It’s a timeless classic from beginning to end and the purest OutKast album end of story.
This is the debate that always end with nobody is wrong and everybody is right...Their entire discography is legendary status...this all opinions...love all of the albums...my personal favorite is Atliens..but you can't be wrong if you choose another album...I think Stankonia is slept on...not sure why, but that is very dope album...
Aliens is the best to me cause after they got booed at the source awards 95 when Stackz said The South Got Something To Say then when in the studio got a Southern rap classic ATLiens They Step up they bar game on there too
1. Wicked is right when referring to the top 4 songs on those albums. 2. ATLiens is the best album because of the content and cohesion. I don’t skip any songs on there. 3. Aquemini is the best bar for bar. The rhyming and metaphors were on ten. 4. I’m living my best life….I ain’t going back and forth with y’all in the comments.
Every cd they've made is 💯. However, I agree with Wick. For that to be a "debut" cd, the whole cd was FIIIYAAHHHH! And really, it's no diss to all the others! And to think the 1st cd gave us Goodie Mob✊
I love OutKast! ATLiens is my favorite album from them. Two Dope Boys in a Cadillac, Elevators, Jazzy Belle, and Mainstream were my favorites. This album is probably my favorite because I started driving around that time. I bumped Elevators often! Andre and Big Boy did a lot of production on this album too! I still play it today and I’m 42 years old.
Aquemini is the best! They closed it with Chonkyfire, which was one of the best Mic Drops in Hip-Hop History! Andre became what he is now because of Aquemini! Southernplayalistic...was a Classic, YES. But it's not touching ATLiens or Stankonia!
Atliens was the best album to be. Growing old was such a real ass song. Jasibell was almost prophetic as it was telling a story of where the culture was headed.
Aquemini Is one of the best technical and creative albums of all time. Liberation and Synthesizer by themselves are just incredible. I literally play them a million times. B high is right. If not Aquemini it’s Speakerbox and love below. Which was ground breaking
Wait a minute...you take that back Wicked...lol...get ya headset ready... that's hell of a debate on the real tho ,them some classics mayne...sheesh... honestly I think Southern playlistic deserve a Grammy
Wicked, stay off that ish!! You bugging OG,Aquemini is the best of their legendary catalog! The entire catalog is classic, but the aforementioned stands above ⬆️ the rest!!
Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik is a classic, striaght from the old A, put us on the map striaght up the best album, had a introduction to our cities on the outskirts of Atlanta. Because ninjas in the Point ain't change. All of them fye, but ain't nothing like the first albums from any group or artist.
Atliens from Album Art to Lyricism to mainstream success is the best album. Aquemini is an extremely close second, darn near a tie, Stankonia then Southern Playistic. Their first album is southern classic. And does Garner mass love in the dirty dirty. Unfortunately outside regions don't get culturally what we were loving from that album. Atliens 5 songs 1. Atliens 2. Elevators 3. Millenium 4. Mainstream 5. 2 dope Boyz
100% agree.."Ain't No thang" one of my Outcast all-time favorites..One of the greatest verse in those days was Andre 3000/ time/ 2:50-3:40/ [Ain't no thang) gets me juiced to this day..Riding the beat like no other back then
"Life is made of half illusion,40% confusion, whatevs left I'm using,to keep my self from losing,u don't know what Ive been thru, hell I might go thru u" Synthesizer- OutKast
