Vernius player here, they say "Only through suffering do we learn." And I certainly feel like I learned a lot this game. 1: Connecting through Deep Deserts is tempting for allowing you to skip territories otherwise required for your neural nodes, but is a poor idea if you are unable to reinforce the village afterwards. Losing a special region hurts tempo so much just because of the authority investment to grab it in the first place. 2: Build missile turrets, if I had built one in the village bordering my Main Base, it would be another nice advantage that may have let me counter-attack better afterwards. 3: I need to tamper with the army composition more, this game was an attempt to field a mostly Fighting Mek army with C'tair (his trait was allowing me to get 3 armory upgrades on them.) A fun idea but maybe not ideal against Harks, should maybe have invested in rail guns more. Especially against the Overlord. 4: Beware the new Overlord, dear god. 5: Remember other faction tech-trees better, I specifically remember cackling as I obfuscated the Craft Workshops, then like I shovel I was hit with the realisation that Harks have the Tech in a different spot. This was a dark moment for me. Overall, was pleased I didn't fold completely under aggression, but clearly need to optimise some more things with the new faction. Gg's none-the-less, and let the spice flow!
Love Turin as always but wanted to give a shout out to Daevohk, he has been uploading some Dune content on you tube and if you like Turin his stuff is definitely worth a watch... I'm sure Turin would agree!
I really appreciate the shoutout everyone. I just ask myself "how would Turin do this" and then I do that thing because he is the best in the business! @@turinRTS
i have no idea how you can articulate your decision-making process fairly calmly even when there were like a hundred things happening all over the map. Well played!
Hey Turin, any thoughts on doing a beginners guide for Dune Spice Wars with all the new content? Just picked this up on the Steam Spring sale, I’m sure others are getting into it as well with Dune part 2 out recently. Love the content man, keep it coming!
I once tried my hand at a beginners guide and it was already 1 hour long when i was about 1/3 of the way through my planned content. It is a really, really difficult subject to tackle in totality.
I love dune content you are one of the rare youtubers who makes dune content please do more keep it up I love it started my subscription just because of dune gameplays. Waiting for more vernius gameplay
Vernius really struggles under pressure. It is SO expensive to replace an army and are terrible on defense. Aggressive assassination and skirmishing is a must. If you let them attack then you can't defend cities because EMP. No second missile turret either, those militia drones are trash.
For a while I was avoiding the dune vids because I wasn't interested but I figured if you've still been playing after all this time it might mean something and now I am HOOKED. Hopefully it keeps picking up steam.
I really like the dune content. I can't get over you always crunching the numbers to see if you have the most Landsraad votes, while the bargraph does a great job at visualizing just that though >:(
For nearly the whole game I was thinking "oh, he remembered to pay his taxes this game." I don't intend to sound mean, but I'm glad you didn't disappoint.
Loves these videos, learning a lot, want to be as good as you one day! What is your favourite faction to play as? And I don't want to sound like a big nerd, it's actually pronounced 'Pie-ter' for your councillor Piter. When I was reading the books I read it as 'peter' as well! Same with Leto, it is pronounced 'Lay-toe'. Dune is weird! Love your vids man! Bless the maker!
How does Turin keep his harvesters going without using the ornis as scouts? I recently picked up this game and my harvesters keep getting shai-hullud'ed non-stop unless I put them on safe mode. Thank you to anyone who can answer
@@johlin94Just did, so I guess it's just worth letting them die in the early game? He also didn't have any ornis on recon during his Vernius streams so that's why I got confused
I would say it is worth putting them on, whenever you can, unless you really are trying to stock up on spice early game and want the extra production. Turin is probably just letting them get eaten knowing him.
