Blizzard simply refuse to learn from their mistakes. Every single time they ignore feedback from PTR and the use of common sense. Only when people start complaining once a patch goes live, they pull the "we have listened to you guys and will do some improvements".
So glad Blizzard’s first prepatch ever is going so well. It’s a good thing they have a mountain of feedback to reference before changes go live……….. oh wait.
honestly, after getting WoW Remix to the point to where you could get all the collectibles via 1 character or by leveling multiple, it feels like a very dumb move for them to put the Prepatch Event as Alt required only. glad that they fixed it, but as usual, Blizzard is struggling to not make a timed event so effort focused.
100%, main reason why people quit wow is because not enough time any more or the content is too 'daunting', feeling like they are doing something wrong if they dont log in everyday
@@jamespark3510 the FOMO is getting strong with Blizzard. I remember back in Wrath I was able to hit my daily quest cap, do my random heroic, prep and join both a 10 and 25 man raid for current content, join pugs for old Wrath raids, and STILL have plenty of time left to just hang out, do Vanilla/BC content, PvP, etc. each week. Now? There's so much bloat I haven't PvP'd in months, stopped running old content... I don't raid current content anymore (only ran a few Awakened raids in LFR for some xmog). You can't go anywhere in DF without the zone screaming at you that some rare has spawned, or some world event has begun. Like, I thought the whole TikTok scrolling ADHD sterotype was a meme, but Blizzard seems like they hardcore leaned into that type of player.
Thank you! Info packed and in a way that is entertaining. I would be so lost while considering coming back and so many names and systems to relate and figure out. Great content as always.
btw i think Hero 4/6 is a great cutoff point, especially compared to Dragonflight's Champion 4/8 cutoff for Casuals. we wont feel like trash and yet it encourages us to go harder if we want to, that's the sweet spot imo.
I think casuals should be able to get to full heroic gear, even if a bit slower than heroic raiders. I also think casuals should be encouraged by the game design to try heroic, cus in the end it's not horribly difficult and it can be a very fun thing for people to try if they haven't. Just my two cents.
1/5 of the talents in the aff warlock tree still don’t work. Enhance shaman additional charge of ele blast doesn’t work, there’s a quest bugged that prevents you from getting your class mount, shadowlands bosses are still broken… so much more it’s so snnoying
I remember one guy saying: "I so love redoing reps on my alts from scratch because then earning that sweet gear/recipe/enchant is so exciting!" The world is full with strange people but I hope the trend of making everything account-wide continues, with the only exception of current season gear (anything above normal dungeon ilvl).
Reputation might not be the best example, but there're certainly people who look for a certain replay value in some grinds beyond seeing a different character in a cutscene
I like the updated version of the Event. The only Problem i have is the scaling. I don't have full heirloom Gear and while my heirloom gear is around ilvl 130+ around lvl 30, the items that drop during the event are around ilvl 30. I feel so weak and killing time for normal non elites feels kinda bad :(
LOL? Just tag everything and let the other people kill the stuff. I leveled a shadow priest from 0 to 70 by just spamming shadow word: pain on everything that moved.
it takes forever to kill the boss now it seems like. I get it you want people to be able to join, but this just feels bad. 35 minutes to kill hoggar in searing gorge is just not fun.
Scaling thr rewards with the number alts kind of made sense when the rewards are viewed as catchup gear, you'd scale how fast you get it between so many alts you need to gear. But for collecting, yeah the previous sytem wasnt so friendly for non-alt players.
Tbf, the original design of the pre-patch went against the philosophy of warbands even if it had warbands in mind. When blizz announced warbands they spoke a whole bunch about "respecting players time" - waiting 90 minutes grinding mobs for pre-patch rewards on a bunch of alts is not respecting the time of the avg player with a job and other responsibilities.
Probably going to level herbalist/tailor mage first, but will have miner/jc DK as group content main. Hoping to level both during "early access", with Sham/lock/hunter being the next trio in line. Main focus will definitely be getting ahead on professions (Tailoring > jc > whatevs) early on, and pretty much only raid twice a week for group content.
honestly the waiting part was ok, i was used to it... and could have coped it... knowing it will be 1 hr wait next week and 30 mins wait after that. The major problem was events not counting properly, and boss not spawning because of this. Waiting 1.5 hour for a boss spawn + boss not spawning, and it being the only quest left unfinished.... and next boss spawn is at 4.5 hrs? yeaa.... im not sure about that one chief.
It looked like there were many of the original events where the echoes just would not spawn all 6 things. I don't think this was all about the need for multiple alts as it was just broken for tons of people. I popped on one evening saw that they had 45 minutes left and only one of the things had been completed at that point. Sat there for about 10 minutes, looked up some vids to see how it was supposed to go and just decided it was broken real bad. At that time I decided that it wasn't worth the effort to do that pre patch event even with the time reduction through the weeks. I will be playing the current version
I am pretty irritated with blizz right now. I know they are doing what they can, but when I submit a support ticket about something I think is a bug, and they respond with "go to wowhead" or "itsa just your issue" when its not just my issue I am extremely annoyed at the lack of resolution. The issue: cross-realm guild bank access is not working for me or any of the new people in the guild that are on realms where the guild is not based. For example, the guild bank is on Quel'dorei. My toon from SEN'JIN can access the guild bank, because that server is paired with quel'dorei. But now that I am on Area 52, and the new guildies are on Sargeras, none of us can access the gbank.
Leveling is part of War of Warcraft for me but they made it easier by giving boosts, thats really helpful. I hope they fixed professions you want gear from them but you never get enough resources to get the gear at the appropriate level.
There's no one doing them anymore on Alleria, at least when I've been on. I can't get the Progress bar down within an hour, so it has been a little frustrating. I wish the scaling was tuned differently.
I'd like to see gear drops increased in the RE event. The event is running much better now, and they have dramatically increased the currency drop, but TO ME, collecting currency and incrementing counters is a lot less fun than gear drops for open world players. The best way would be a reasonable combination of both, but lately, the devs seem to be set on basically eliminating gear drops.
Rofl that's exactly what I'm going to do !!! I have 4 characters and my 5th will be an earthen.. my main will clear the board.. my dracthyr will be my gather..and the others will be backups..my content will be outdoor..and delves..I will try the new mythic plus..but if I don't like it then..I will try to raid my goal get decked out in all heroic gear whether it be crafting it or doing it via delves..whichever path is the one with least resistance.
Levelling ret pally moner/bs first. Havent decided on bs specialization yet. I dont mind not colecting all the appearances from quests, but then i usually transmog to LK or earlier sets. I really have not liked most sets of gear since LK. Doesnt look like armor any more. I also didnt mind the 90 timer, but wished it wasnt synced with other world content.
Just curious if your second character is your gatherer, what professions do you have on your main? it seems you would be missing a lot of value not having gathering on your first character, or is gathering disabled for the 3 day early access?
Gathering would not be disabled for the early access, that would literally kill the point of getting said early access in order to get a small headstart on things.
question about the warband vault, why i can craft stuff for myself with the mats in the vault but i cant complete an order with the mats from it? is it not an account thing anyway?
potentially having to repeating loremaster 3 more times for the other 3 armor types my warrior main didnt earn is a hell of a lot of quests, would really not like to do that. I am already potentially looking at at least one more repeat of loremaster, there is a plate glove that seems to be alliance only in feralas and there is a shoulder mog that is Aldor only, but I am not doing that until it's confirmed either way if we are suppose to get retroactive credit or not.
to be fair it feels prettsy lackluster when compared to other Prepatch events.. Especially Battle for Azeroth. All that lead up to the Burning of Teldrassil was fire..
Blizzard really needs players testing EVERYTHING on the PTR, im willing to bet he reason this and mop remix had flawed releases is because they had no one testing them, not even their internal teams, so the problems we face with them come crashing hard on us because now it’s officially out. They are making changes in the beta, but only because the large influx of players are testing there, meanwhile there’s next to nobody testing this event on the PTR.
You're mostly right. Blizz can't force people on the ptr to test things. I'd wager most of the testing ok beta ptr is made of practicing classes and looking for advantages in keys. World content gets a cursory glance by comparison
I've levelled so many alts during Radiant Echoes already - it's really fast. Plus t hey can get level appropriate gear (some of it actually useful) and the odd 70 warbound item.
@@sardonicspartan9343 That has changed. You can grind these things endlessly now and it gives a lot more currency. Remix is probably still faster but you don't get the gear drops that you can use in retail.
@@sardonicspartan9343 It doesn't take that long though? I took a lowbie yesterday started at 43, and after one event was 47 - (that's less than one hour). I've done this for all my low toons who are all now 70. Edit - you do realize the event is continuous now, right? Once the boss dies it just re-starts all the mini events until he spawns again and he can spawn multiple times within each location per hour.
@@sygmarvexarion7891 i get that, but tbh i'd say that it's better that you have nothing to do sometimes and be able to rest vs being kept busy until you burn out.
Despite all of this work, the fundamental problem with modern wow is that it is being designed around m+. Class design and world immersion has shit the bed because of this.
Yeah, burned through everything in less than a week. Got all my alts to 70 too (xp was crazy high). Everything seemed to easy. Back to pandamonium until early release
While there should be credit given to Blizzard for a quick response, it is also disappointing that they didnt do it early. The feedback that was received during the beta and the PTR was also consistent with what happened to live. There is no reason for them to not see it coming and have made the changes before it released.
Some people give different feedback. Mine was actually positive and I was fine with the first iteration of the event. I'm not the type who wants to feel "locked in" to a particular event. During timers I'd switch gears and get back to farming transmog from raids, fiddle with my inventory etc. I already had a plan in my head to just cycle the weeklies between alts and then during the last two weeks be more present for the farm and finish buying everything. With the changes, I slammed the event and with my goals reached, I'm no longer participating. Obviously I'm just a single person with a single person's playstyle, preferences etc. Many people feel differently and they made their feedback known. But all the changes did for me was make me play that event far less than planned.
I admit from a game balance perspective it seems werid that crafted gear is higher than delves. Like is blizzard saying crafting gear is harder then delves? more important? I dont know just is something that shouldnt be the case. Or at least id like to hear the reasoning, as right now i dont think i understand exactly how blizzard sees delves.
I just want some quality control. Blizzard really needs to pay a dedicated set of testers and adjust staff sizes and deadlines so that we can not have to experience beta testing on things that get released. For me and a lot of the people who I talk to this just really kills the hype for the game when stuff releases that could have been easily fixed by people playing the content and tweaking it. These aren't minor adjustments they're big glaringly obvious issues with playability that I feel most players could identify in an hour or less of testing.
I agree. Most large companies have a whole department for quality assurance. Blizzard should really consider such a structure. It seems more and more evident that they have internal testers and then they want the players to test their product. The sad part is, this has been going on for 20 years or longer. They have 20 years of experience and information to create a better experience. But they never do.
so i finished getting all the gear, I really only play priest so only 1 set for me but its mainly just the 50k. I was probably the one person to see 90 min as a good thing just because quick event than I go do other things while I wait for the next event
00:40 not everyone waiting at a boss is leaching. I usually don't participate in the fight to not bloat the hp of the boss even further which would be slower than just waiting and tagging it right before the kill
The event is the absolute fastest way to level. I took a level 50 toon I had sitting around and got to 70 in less than 2 hours. This statement does not take Remix into account.
@@rigormortis3219 You don't need to do the questline to do the events. Can just head to Legion Dalaran and go to each area - If you're somewhere it's faster to just fly to the location, can do that, and take the portal from there to Dalaran.
@@rigormortis3219 You can't do the part where you go to silithus and all that, but you do get the one that tells you to meet Khadgar in Dalaran. You can go through the portals and start doing the radiant echos event. I even went on my 33 warlock. Dinged 3 times in about 20 min.
I renewed my sub for the prepatch just to feel gutted by what happened to my chosen class. I really feel cheated, and may not even play the rest of these expansions. There are other games that I can play were I am having fun. However, they dont have what WoW has to offer. A new exp should make me feel kinda excited, but now I'm just sad.
Its probably better than it was before, once you figure the changes out. Some of the changes are frustrating though. At lease from my experience. Don't know what spec but it probably pumps once you figure it out. Hopefully anyways.
I heard they fired then tar and feathered the quest event developer for the massive misstep. I under stand slightly why they did this (Warbands) but they really missed the mark.
the fix they put out was fast and very effective, but people who just afk at the boss and don't help with events are leaches, them being in the zone bloats the time needed to finish the events and then they just tap the boss bloat its health and then afk again its real aggravating -.-
DID they learn, though? This is FAR from the first time they've released something, received strong backlash, and had to pivot. Hell, it's not even the first time this year. Do they understand their game at all?
i think Ion meant Crafting Order PK, because if even First Craft PK is disabled, that is a big fat YIKES. meaning you couldnt level your Crafting at all without throwing PK right into the Twisting Nether.
@@UltimateGamerCC I'm sure the trees will be disabled and doubtfully not the acquisition of the knowledges points themselves. We probably just wont have a way to spend points till the official launch.
@@williamcolgin1987 we'll have to see, personally i doubt that. not like all that much of an advantage can happen under the new changes. if people who get on early are ahead, those who waited will simply have more crafting orders than the early access players.
This event sounded so bad with what was announced I’ve literally decided not to log in all week. Didn’t even know they made updates. Maybe I’ll check it out now, kinda unsure.
@@SoulSoBreezyhaha players being totally over the top on social media that never happens! 😂 I’m sure it’s fine it just sounded un engaging so I figured extending the game break was more valuable and healthy. I’m sure I will check it out some first hand this week at least a little. Thanks for the great video as usual. I am also still very appreciative of the work you have been putting into the profession ones as well. I hope they have been received well and provided a meaningful return to you.
I wonder why do they have to lock crafting high ilvl gear behind group content. Why cant i as a crafter craft as high as i want without needing to do group content. It sucks in my opinion and makes it pretty pointless to go the profession route to get money.. but then again we can earn money from computers in the next expancion so it isnt a full loss. But i would still like to craft the best Sword i can without having to rely on group content but instead just hard grinding work and see the sword at its highest as the carot on stick.. i already got mounts i lose out on as a solo player i dont need to lose more..
There's a prevailing sentiment that players ought to find happiness when they "stick to their lane." By that I mean if you want good gear from the playstyle you enjoy, you'll find it and you'll have a good time in those activities. Applies great to dungeons, raids, delves, world content. Hard to argue that sticking in those "lanes" results with us feeling strong when we apply ourselves well enough. I don't *need* mythic gear to complete the heroic raid. There're opinions such as yours that break that philosophy. "I want the best gear without having to do group content" is not a bad take at all, I want that to be clear. But there're consequences to fulfilling that, because there's the familiar adage "players will take the path of least resistance." Supporting that, many gamers do NOT want to feel like they're forced to do things they don't want to do, but force themselves to do it because that's the optimal path forward. See Azerite essences, Torghast and other features for examples. In the case of professions, the sucky reality is we'd get a bunch of miserable players participating in crafting, who never felt forced to do it before but have to now. Because dungeons/raids don't give gear good enough or fast enough, participation at the lower level tanks, reinforcing this negative loop of "we have to do it this way cause no one's doing X content for gear anymore." The lanes are busted.
My alts feel cheated that they are stuck with those 2 pesky prepatch quests. They don't get the daily quest option, but have to do the 2 openers just to get rid of them from the quest log. 'Delete' them you say? They just pop back up and force you to retake them until you finally do it. SOOO...Once one of your warband characters has done the required 2 quests, it should go away for the rest, UNLESS they are getting daily quests!!! AND is it really an advantage to be in a raid? I mean, I have noticed yesterday they are snatching players leaving some realms empty of players doing the echo events. Do raid members actually get 'more' for being in raid? AND I'm sorry, blizzard should not reward anyone doing echos that never gets off their mount. Lots of freeloaders just hovering over the echos and doing nothing. It makes it harder for the ones actually doing the work.
Does Blizz really expect that players have the time to gear 25 alts let alone your main going forward. I have specific uses for my alts - like everyone else farming, camping and collecting. Are they going to force us to gear catch up now to play current content? What I mean is that I will use only a few in the new expansion but most are for old content or collecting pet charms or whatever. I'm worried they think that now they all have us engaged in these armies that we will be required to use them in other systems to keep us playing. I have a main for a reason, it's my preferred play style and the one I want to do all the content on. I'm not sure where Blizz is leading us here but I don't like it.
Why can't we just get gear, so tired of having to upgrade my gear. Give me gear. I have to do the same dungeons over and over and over with no new dungeons. Now I got to have the same gear over and over and over with no new gear. We were doing some transmog runs the other day and it's funny we had 14 dungeons in wrath.
This is a beta test and we are paying for it. It's not right to make customers pay for something not fit for use and we should not be charged a monthly fee until it's out of beta testing and the majority of the bugs are removed. Now in the L King boss kill event, if you tank the boss on top of the broken pillar, you make Arhus non targetable and he will stay that way until 3 hours later when it comes around to that portal again. You don't get to turn in the daily and all that time and effort gone. Again, shame on blizz for forcing people to pay for beta testing their game.
Its a travesty what they did to elemental shaman. It went from a smooth rotation to a clunky mess. It needed to be nerfed in beta but they over did it, barely beating tank dps now with the clunkiest rotation i have ever seen for ele. Enjoy your warcraft people i'm out.
Seriously this is the most boring prepatch since dragon flight prepatch because it's exactly like dragonflights prepatch.. Run around a zone kill s*** kill a boss get loot TBC wrath and legion all had the best prepatches in the history of the game
Aside from the horrible lag, the event still has massive issues. Scaling is not working properly, so good luck killing most rares and the end boss if you're in a layer with no geared level 70s to boost you. I can understand giving these rares more than usual HP so people can tag them before an overgeared lvl70 1 shots them, but they are 2-3 shotting low levels, so only minor events that can be completed are non-rare ones. However, this limits the choices and slows the progress so much that I just came out of a Searing Gorge event where 15-20 people could not fill the bar to spawn Ragnaros even once! I don't think that's the intended experience by Blizzard, but it's the reality. I play on a top10 population server, so it's not a dead server issue either. Most things work unrelated to the server nowadays anyway.
who cares about that retroactive transmogs, the mogs gets better and better each expansion and for the most part what people transmog is raid sets not quests so please dont make blizz devote resources to solve something that will take months to do in order to enjoy only for like the 3 seconds it takes to display on your screen and then you never use it again
pretty friggen boring event tbh. the changes are better but still, not much to it. i guess it just feels like, meh. its fine, im sure they need as much dev time as they can find to polish up the xpac, cant be wasting it on current stuff. biggest thing about this event for me is not being able to see where i need to go on the world map, i just cant figure out why. probably an addon, but i cant be arsed to go through them all to try and find the fix. i came back for this pre xpac event. gear catchup, blow the dust off some alts i never leveled to max with the xp nerf. that was my plan. i find myself not wanting to do any of that. i dont want to slog through all the addon updates, i dont want to set up all my addons again on every character. i dont want to relearn all my different specs/talents. i guess im a one toon andy now. honestly, im not all that excited for the xpac now either. i guess i might be done with WoW. been playing since end of TBC, i feel sad.
And people sing praises of them for making the event how it should have been from the start, they shouldn't be getting praised for the way they handled this.
This damn AD covering the CC is the worst thing ever. I am learning english and I like Soul but this video is not for me because of that. Please SB fix this issue, I understand how RU-vid works but please let us enjoy your content. Isn't there any other way to have a sponsor in your videos? With love
This practice of having your players test your game is just embarrassing. They're paying for an expansion, they're paying a subscription and STILL they need to test without being paid? Honestly disgusting.
For any other game, I'd say it's OK and at least they're fixing it. But when we take into account how much money we give this company, it does certainly make me feel angry.
LOL, what a stupid take. People WANT to test the game. Heck, people pay more to have guaranteed access to the beta. Besides, it's a fact of life that many bugs or problems cannot be found without a bunch of people actively trying to break the game.
Like a bunch of whining children crying and wanting everything without having to earn it. Why don't we just log in and we have everything from every expansion even the newest ones we don't have to do anything but log in
They need to look at and change who is A. In the beta server. B. How feedback gets to devs from the beta server. There’s no fucking way that the radiant echoes event was tested by anybody with a brain and if it was the devs just didn’t hear the feedback cuz the changes they made should’ve been obviously how it worked from the start. Just say it out loud how it originally worked and you should stop yourself halfway through going “oh this is stupid and won’t be fun”. Now I’m a real new player so maybe I’m super uninformed how their beta works, but these are changes that any body who plays it should be able to see are required to make the game not shit and shouldn’t take longer than a few seconds to see or think up.
