Totally agree with you mate, hopefully more local businesses can stay strong with the support of their community even though big business is booming. Feels like there's a McDonald's on every street corner these days 😂
I am PROUD to know that a man of your age, can see and figure out all that is wrong around us.... and where we are headed. If you can See... you can Do...... Hopefully, there are many more people of your age, who can also see and are not too distracted.
Aaron, though I have more life experience, I find your content thoughtful and enjoyable. I think it would be intriguing to challenge yourself to exclusively support independent stores for an entire month. This would encompass everything from coffee shops and grocery stores to butcher shops, farmer's markets, street vendors, clothing stores, and food outlets. The only exceptions might be petrol, utilities, and phone providers, as independent options for these are not available. This challenge could provide a fascinating experience.
Mate it's always been the same my family have been involved retail trade people you would make more if the shop was on High Street , the rents & business rates were more expensive . The trouble is everyone wants cheap goods. I was told about 15 years a go about an indepenant shop complained by a then now definct well known department store he was selling below the minimum price and supplier got award needless to say the independant trade soon went out of business . Amazon will find out who your supplier s and sell direct and cut you out. I fyou have a pension your part of the system .
