This was helpful. We are starting the process of selling our home. Paying the buyers Agent's commission, is something that irritates me. I understand the part that he's showing our home, but He is showing our home and doing what's best for the buyer, not for me. It's kind of like paying somebody who's against you. Selling our home right now will incur the cost of $25,000 for potentially one week's work because it's such a quick selling market.
Very nice explanation of a muc000h0 miss0understood topic. I was a Realtor for 5 years in Fl. , we went through a situation like this , all it did was cause confusion and create a bunch more mostly useless paper work .
People who can afford a house these days are not worried about 6% finders fee. It's like buying a Ferri and being worried about the price of gas. I don't believe there will be much change at all.
I have a good friend that is a realtor and she was explaining this to me yesterday (but not as clear as you did here). What I do have to say is that if anyone "paid" a $418,000,000 settlement without admitting any guilt (to me means) that they just admitted guilt and they are hoping this will all just go away... I will most likely be selling my home in CA and moving to MI to be closer to my daughter & son-in-law so I will be paying those fees on my sale and reaping the benefits of my next purchase... I do see where agents will now be having contracts with buyers so that the buyer does not jump in with another agent and possibly get both sides of the commission...
Thank you and that’s fair! This video is definitely not intended to be trying to defend NAR, simply stating the information within the case, but that’s where the confusion lies within the industry and why there’s been so much hatred toward NAR, since they accepted this outcome without working for the agents that allow the association to exist. I’d be curious to see where this goes as I heard the DOJ is now investigating.
As I've heard people from NAR explain, they settled because they know it's better to close the whole thing out on their own terms. Continuing with the lawsuit puts all NAR members at risk. With the lawsuit settled, Realtors as a group will be safe from further frivolous litigation on this subject.
@@littlemissprickles That’s what I saw noted as well. I can see their perspective on doing so, but I know that’s the misconception right now in the public is, “why admit to something you’re not guilty of”
