FAb you guys . . . Theo 'goat henge' is a masterpiece, NOT to be a (,,,you should person), but the goats will seek shade and they love stone in shade i.e. what about UNDER THE TREES also for an an eventual second one or even scattered slabs they can just splay selves across on in shade? OMG the cats willlll be sooo intrigued. Hope 'you know who' kitty does not get up under their kicking hooves. Lots of farm type cats even ride on goats backs, so funny.
What beauties, goats are so entertaining. They certainly lucked out when they found you and Theo. Can’t wait to see how Furnando reacts to them. Gingy Bear probably won’t have much interest in them. What is your neighbors utube address? I am so excited to see the sofa set up in your beautiful home. Okay, the goats are settled, let’s get you settled in your home. Cannot wait to see it finished. The kitchen will probably delay the move in but still so excited to see it.
Remember to cover up the tiers on the trailer otherwise you won't have any tier left! The same if you have any trees in the goat garden.. 🙄 good luck with your new family member..
Hi from Australia…..Just a tip about goats, I’m sure you have had quite a few by now. The gate. I would suggest putting the fencing mesh on the gate as well. My goats would stick their heads through the slats and get trapped by their horns. How many times did I do rescues day and night until I sorted the issue? Lots!
Your in Australia? God bless you. What a hell hole your country has become. Hopefully your far enough to not have to deal with the tyrannical and ridiculous mandates. This hoax has got to end!
Goat henge is a brilliant idea. Our goats loved to climb. They will play games climbing and jumping on it.. Also good idea to not have it near the fence
Just an idea from watching other videos - what would you think about adding a small donkey too? People actually use them as "watch-dogs" for their sheep to keep them safe from coyotes. If you did move the chicken coop in there, the donkey could help keep the chickens safe from foxes! Ok... maybe a silly idea, but if you'll be traveling it might be an idea to help keep your livestock safer. The Goat fencing is looking so wonderful! You're making them a safe haven. They'll be the happiest rescued goats ever! I didn't realize how excited I was about you really moving into your new home! To know it's so close now - amazing! All of your hard work about to be realized!
yes, my donkey from years ago knew which animal didn't belong to our property! He never chased the hens but chased a wild pheasant. Chased out a stray cat, but never ours. Such lovable creatures
It's essential that the donkey knows what goats and chickens are, and that the donkey will respond the way you want to predators. They have to have a strong protective instinct and be attached to the animals they protect. Even then, it's a big ask - the donkey could get injured. I had a goat get attacked by 2 dogs that neighbours let run wild, her throat and udder were shredded. My horse was doing all she could to protect the goat, but the dogs had already attacked her before the goat was able to get into the area with my mare. I shudder to think how bad it might have been if I hadn't heard the goat howling and ran to the arena and chased off the dogs. That fence looks excellent for keeping out predators and keeping in chickens - but the chickens need shrubs or other places to hide from eagles, hawks, etc.
In my opinion you need another flat stone behind the upright stone. I am so proud of the both of you. I love watching you both. You are absolutely one of my favorite videos to watch. God bless you both.
Brilliant paddock for goats, love "goathenge". You may need to think about running some wire around the tree trunks of any in the enclosure as they will eat and pull off bark and kill the trees. Theo must be thrilled to have 4 goat powered lawn mowers to add to his tractor to keep the land managed lol ❤
Quite right about goats and stripping tree bark. Rather heart breaking💔 To have trees die like that. Lumnah Acres(New Hampshire) has goats as does Red Poppy Ranch(Idaho). I hope that you take just a little time to get to know them and their animals. Bless wishes to all!
Keep in mind that the trailer will be as hot as an oven in the summer. At some point you may want to build a stone building for them as it will remain cool inside during the summer.
It's only a temporary shelter. They have said in many of their other videos they will build them permanent structure once they have finished and moved into the barn.
A note from my goat keeping friends..it's worth getting them collars (goat bells are optional but make such a cool sound on the land) and getting them used to being walked on a lead just in case you ever want to move them...or have to take them to the vet...mind you they'll follow you wherever if you have a bucket of goat food!!
Goat bells might make "cool sounds", but imagine how horrible and annoying it must be for the goats - every single move is accompanied by a sound they cannot control themselves. In my opinion, bells around animals' necks are just cruel.
I just love watching you guys. Just 2 real and normal people not tainted by social media. Truly inspirational. Theo is a hoot seriously and you darling are just perfect. So happy you guys are getting to the fun parts of your dream!
Your home looks so pretty , can't wait to see all furnished and you guys enjoying your cozy and beautiful home ! You Bea and Theo did a wonderful job transforming that dirty and ugly barn into this beautiful and so well finished home, the surroundings looks beautiful as well. ! CONGRATULATIONS in your soon moving in ! I am so happy for you guys , well done ! 😊💗
We made two small mounds and placed an old telephone pole across like a bridge. The goats loved pushing each other off and playing king of the mountain.
Ok I really don't know what's cuter, the goats, Bea riding in the tractor bucket, or Theo acting like a goat!! Loved the video you guys always make me smile!! 💗😊
I just love rascally Furrnando! What a fun cat! And love “GoatHendge”! So excited to see the completion of their sleeping quarters! You two are so fun! Can’t wait to see the goats and how they are going to love their new home!!! ❤️. The goats look so chill and relaxed in their new home! ❤️
Well.. These goats have won the lottery! Just as your chickens and cats have... The heart expands :) Love the heart and soul you put into your home, travel, each other and the other dear souls you continue to add to your lives. So excited about these new additions! Go goats!
Theo's having wayyyy too much fun!!😂😂 Love the set up for their night times. Great that you've positioned the trailer in the shade too, aww, your family is growing 🤗😍
Congrats on the new additions! I am sure Fernando and Gingy will be fast friends with them soon. I loudly exclaimed Oh Fernando when he hopped the fence! Great job guys!!!
Talking about goats being escape artists, what about Fernando? I’m absolutely thrilled for you that you’re ready to move in. Congratulations on all your hard work xxx
Bee got me crying tears of joy after goats were delivered. The smile on her face made me so joyful. Thanks. Oh and Theo you are always so generous and gentle with the animals warms my heart.
That's a beautiful piece of art for your home! Minimalist. Speaks volumes and very elegant and personal. I love everything you do, you two! The goats...what a delightful family you're aquiring. I look forward to seeing all the animals meet. Thanks for sharing your magic with us.
Goat henge is a brilliant idea. How excited Theo is about his goats. I love the way the fencing was done. Theo and Bee, Ii you look at Lumnah Acres he built a hay feeder for outside for his goats.
My goodness, can you call goats majestic or stately? Because those four girls ARE majestic and stately! 😱 So excited to hear what you name them - great job on all the hard work, AS USUAL! 👏👏👏
Use to have goats they eat everything. We always wrapped our tree trunks with wire and two by fours. Our goats eat the bark from our trees and then they died because they ate the bark all the way around. Good luck with the goats.
Goats are quite strong. As long as the fence is sturdy, it should keep them in. A goat also utterly destroys trees. Just keep an eye on your precious trees. Goats are not finicky and will eat everything and anything ( even your washing from the line!) They get attached to you and naughty! Goats and chickens get on together famously. Enjoy!
Such lucky goats to have a mom and dad like you two!!! Your homestead looks STUNNING! You both must feel so proud of your accomplishments!!! 😊❤️💗❤️💗🎶👏👏👏🐈🐈🇨🇦
Don't forget the salt block for them with the proper nutrients for their guts! Lovely way you have them set up! Gingy Bear must think you are starting a farm! Love that girl too!
I really love to see how you take care of the animals on your farm 🙂 You do it with love and I wish you all the best. The goats will be four lovely family members, I´m sure of that 🙂
Hi Be a and Theo. Your tiny house is looking fabulous. Talk about blood sweat and tears. I think you two have gone beyond that your both amazing. Your farm is coming on and has a lot of character.. God bless you both. All my love Sheils. XX
I had my lone goat living with the chickens. It was good because the goat let us know when something was wrong, and they all got along fine. Goats can climb anything when they want. You'll see, it'll be fun.
So many wonderful comments from so many wonderful people to a couple of wonderful people. LOL About the goat shed if it gets really cold there, leave the straw on the floor after they poop on it. Just add another layer and the decomposition will give your garden a treat after composted. This process creates heat for them.
deep litter. That's what we used to do in our goat shed (also with the sheep barn and shelter for the ponies). I still do it today with our horses (except for that I pick their droppings every day). It's a pain to clean though.
Bee, here's a little trick for securing the wire at the overlap corners. Get the cordless drill, put the piece of wire where you want it, leave the ends a little long and stick them into the drill chuck, tighten the chuck on them and then put the trigger. The drill will twist the ends as tight as you want. Then fold the ends facing out of the pen. Bam, easy peasy!
I absolutely love how thoughtful a bloke you are Theo. Reading up on the goats and trying to make them as comfortable as possible when they arrive ( dare I say " leaving no stone unturned " lol ... GOAT HENGE is BRILLIANT ! ) also the way you transported those heavy lumps of stone with the tractor was ingenious ! ( great improvisation, you would have made a brilliant collier .... if you weren't such a big unit of a fella lol ) I am confident that no goats have ever existed that have had such remarkable " Penthouse " living quarters :) I can only imagine what sensational parents Bee and Theo would make. A child would have the greatest life with you two beautiful big " kids " ( couldn't resist the Goat Pun )
Wow another Milestone with the Goats now living in a wonderful home, just loved watch them, I’m sure they will soon be best friends, after all they sure have a wonderful couple looking after them. I feel about laughing as you were both building their sleeping 💤 quarters. xxxxxxxxx
This was a wonderful video, really enjoyed it! Love the idea of the art but Theo's dad really is a fantastic Artist (going by the Art that was in their home on your visit to the UK) and would love to see a few of his works at your home. Fencing is great, top job and I adore "Goat henge" haha brilliant! Goats love to climb so this is a "top class idea" really fantastic! Looking forward to your next instalment and even though I feel I have lived a small life, I am very much enjoying everything you are doing. Love the whole project and lifestyle.
The goats are beautiful. I don't know much about goats but there seems to be lots of different kinds. Jared Crocker has 6 newborn pygmy goats. They're adorable. I know they like to climb. A big pile of tree stumps would be good and probably free. 😊
Don’t forget that goats need free choice of baking soda and trace minerals (with copper) and a salt block on a rope. You will need to trim hooves on a regular basis too. Purchase the appropriate hoof trimmers.
Love the goathenge. They will too. They may enjoy butting their heads into the trailer, SO be forewarned it will never look the same. For love of goats.
Watch your trees carefully. If they get a mind to, they will strip the bark from the trunks of trees. Just put some fencing around the trunks to discourage them. They look very healthy. Do goats in Portugal need dewormed from time to time? About the most ecologically friendly land clearing method on earth. Thanks again and good luck.
With goats, the nail glue and screw principle is required. So run some wire around the posts and fencing near the top and staple that down too. Limits sagging. Start researching a single electric strand along the top too. Stone is really good for their hooves!
Your man is smart and quite the strong and hard working man. Love the stone goat henge. You are both so creative. Can’t wait to see the goats having fun in this enclosure. 💕
There is a company near me in Missouri, USA that allows you to “rent” goats to clear a property of brambles and such. They bring the goats with an electric/invisible fence and allow them to wander whatever enclosure is set up with said electric fence. The same concept might be good for you guys to be able to move your goats around your property specifically for clearing purposes. Love your stuff, you’re the most genuine people I’ve ever seen! I’ve recently found your stuff and have been going back and watching all your older stuff too. Love it all so much! I could never be an off-grid person but I am inspired by some of your diy stuff!
The barn is absolutely unbelievable been with you from the beginning and all I can say is its absolutely brilliant what you have done keep up the brilliant work and looking forward to the goats coming to the channel and us all getting to know them also you coming up with their names stay safe and take care guys love from Lincolnshire England
Theo great idea to use wooden rollers to move the stones. You might find it even easier to use much bigger diameter logs to make the rolling much easier. Those small ones don't offer as much surface area on the ground to take all of that weight.
They like animal cookies, I trained the baby to go into a large pet carrier with them. I shut her up at night, so I can milk her mom in the morning. I also use a large metal framed hamper for their hay. You will also need to feed them some pellets along with the hay. I also give them mana pro goat treats. Free range minerals and baking soda, they will eat what they need. You will also have to trim hooves ever so often.
How sweet of you to build a goat henge and a place for them to sleep and “ socialize “ Too funny ! Just love following you and looking forward to the inside of the barn to be furnished . Take care , ❤️ from 🇨🇦
My husband had one made for our son of the moment he was born with a message of what he would also say to him when he was little. Sadly we lost him to cancer before it arrived. His Dad couldn't have given a more perfect gift it means everything to him. So if you are looking for that something special don't hesitate you wouldn't be disappointed
Ordered one for our 34th wedding anniversary 🥰. The goats’ enclosure looks awesome! “We’ll adapt to who they are”. You guys are the best critter parents!!! What a fun project the goat barn is. I’m guessing the kitties will like hanging out in there with the goats 😉. Aaaaaawwwwwww, the goats are lovely! I think having the chickens live in the enclosure is a great idea! Can’t wait to see the next video!!!
Goats dont need higher beds, they only need their beds changed once in a while and would be better to close the backside of the horse trailer because of the cold wind at night. Make sure you protect the tree trunks with fence, goats can eat everything and most likely kill any tree inside their enclosure by constantly chewing on the bark, branches and leaves....
Great job on the fence! Also, If you have Oak trees in your goat pasture make sure low hanging limbs are trimmed so that the goats can't reach them, because if they eat to many it will kill them.
