Im a huge geometry dash fan, and spaceUK’s hacking was heartbreaking. We were praising a cheating scandal. it hurts even more when the community of geometry dash nominated him for best player. Many famous levels were verified by him just to be hacked. Truly devastating.
Another thing he didn't mention is that because everyone else was basically competing against a bot it pushed every other player to get better and better trying to beat him.
@@ajharris2690 The thing is, spaceuk was planning out when to make the bot beat a level. He was keeping it at a normal pace to not raise suspicion. People weren't competing with a bot, a bot was trying to blend into the competitive community. The bot could've easily beaten every hard level in the game in one month, but it would be extremely obvious that it isn't real.
As I Geometry Dash player and someone that is pretty into the community, seeing this was insane. One of my favorite Pokemon youtubers talking about recent drama in my favorite video game ever? That blew my mind. Sure, npesta became a meme outside of GD, sure, some people talked about the GuitarHeroStyles situation, but I think this goes down as the biggest event in the GD community of all time.
crazy seeing you react to geometry dash content. i will say, geometry dash at it’s harder difficulties genuinely becomes one of the hardest games in the world. you wouldn’t think much about it if you don’t know about it but it’s crazy
As a now quitted geometry dash I feel I can safely say that to me this this is the biggest cheating scandal this game has ever witnessed. The fact that space got away with all of this using simple and easily detectable methods and won awards is truly baffling in hindsight. The community has faced cheaters before (Xander, Cyclic, Neptune, NoctaFly, Andromeda come to mind) but space hits harder due to the sheer dominance he had over the demon list. I also want to highlight the fact that a small RU-vidr named Kolo made an exposal a year ago and he sent it to the Demons List and they just said “You are wrong👍” which is just so frustrating and I think the Demons List team as you said should be put in check because who knows whose cheating now.
As a Geometry Dash player, although I don't really keep up with the competitive side of the game, when spaceUK was exposed I couldn't believe it. Also I literally almost died of laughter when I heard that 64 pixels exposed him lmfao, it was so random
im a speedrunner, verifying just means that officials have confirmed that your run is legitimate and will have a spot on a leaderboard. at least, thats the general definition. geometry dash is a little different than what i run with leader board rules, but they should be fairly similar.
The worst part of all this is all the talented top players who were robbed of their rightful #1 spot and their potential for influence. Spaceuk got so many views and so much money off of pure lies
Omg geometry dash is such a throwback! Loved this game as a kid but yeah it was hard never got that far. But of all the games to cheat on geometry dash really?
it's extremely hard (and when i say _extremely_ , i mean extremely) to get even close to the top of the game. he probably was already in the community for some time and then saw potential for fame and so he started cheating. idk, just my guess

Matpat is making a theory also why i ask if you watch gtlive because during a gtlive stream him and ash made comment they think HaMln is Amanda the adventurer world version of pied piper. If you don't know pied Piper is a personal who was hired to kill all rats in a town . He played a flute that cause all rats to drown themselves. The towns people's refused to pay the pied Piper so he played his flute to cause kids to drown themselves. Sean Mclaughlin found stuff two out.
he didn't really TAS, he used a bot called a bot called a 'macro' to combine all of his practice runs into one big deathless run, and then played the 'macro'.
3:29 omg yeah 2 months isn't enough. I started playing fortnite in s1 but didn't get into the game till end season 2. The season were about 3 months at the time and I didn't get a solo win till the storm ltm in s4 which wasn't till towards the end I think
