Greasus needs one of either two changes. In lore, he’s an amazing fighter (in his youth) defeating rival tyrants, ice drakes, and literally ripped the great black orc war boss, Urk Ironskull, in half. So one option is taking away his scooter and making him a world beater using a beefed up tyrant model. The other option is using him when he’s older and no longer able to walk. He’s supposed to be a trade master and genius at bribing enemies, managing coin, and making money. So I would keep him terrible, but have the rest of the army be cheaper if you make him your lord.
@@user-fu2tx9hp4r It depends, if you make everything cost 25 less gold, then you're effectively doing the same thing as giving him a cost decrease. The only caveat is that this becomes more cost effective the more units you bring. Incentivizing bringing cheaper worse units rather than OP strong ones. I think it would be an interesting gameplay mechanic that feels unique and better than just making him dirt cheap.

I wish they made Sceptre of Titans actually as crazy as it is it TT and lore. It literally imbues Greasus with the strength of a Sky-Titan, these things were much larger than the giants currently existing and Giants already hit like freight trains. In TT it gives him 10 strength whereas Skarbrand only has 6 and Kholek, the highest natural strength, was at 8. In game I wish it gave a 100% base and AP weapon strength bonus and MA buff instead of BvL. Greasus should just demolish anything he fights with that thing popped with how slow and cumbersome he is. Obviously he needs more changes than that to be good (Why does he have only 1300 more HP than Grimgor?) but it would make his item a little more interesting and befitting of its status
I've been saying that for a long time! On TT he could crump the hell out of even greater demons in a single turn with good rolls. But in Total War he's just....awful. Can't do anything well.
I think some simple changes could be made to really help Greasus out. 1. More health. He already has a lot but lets get him near 10k. He's super slow (that's fine) but make him a real anchor. 2. Maybe a small physical resistance buff for his layers of fat protecting him. That or give him an armor buff. Those aren't game breaking changes, fit lore, and would make him much more tanky.
Agreed. The fattest of them all should have something to reflect that. Or at the very least, he should have the ability "snack" that the Tyrant has that let him regenerate. I mean you can literally see him eat all the time ffs!
I've never felt more colorblind in my life than watching that blobfight on those pink tiles with the pink-ish lighting from those lanterns lmao. It is a cool map though.
Greasy really needs his regeneration I think. That is when greasy finds his stride in campaign and would definitely make him a unique choice for ogre in multiplayer.
I feel like a fire belly would be a solid pick against vampire counts. Especially with the meta of ghosts becoming awesome again, having that aoe buff that gives fire AND magic damage would make even gnoblars a threat. Also gives another target out there to make the opponent chose for their spirit leech spam, leaving your tyrant to shred away.
Honestly I feel like with what we have seen of this matchup, I think greasus does better as a support piece for ironguts. Mostly just because of how tanky they are, and they provide some mass to clear for him so he can get the favorable engagement he wants with a large target without being swarmed. I’m thinking back to that one blob fest fight with greasus and a ton of ironguts vs vampire counts
Spirit leach spamming is so disgusting and so effective at the same time. I think in combat Chonkertyrant did well but you couldnt really handle the beatdown of the Vhargulf+Strigoi+spirit leach.
I really enjoy the fantasy of the Ogres, but their current implementation is definitely lacking. I can't wait for the coming dlc, I'm so excited to see what they've been cooking for them.
Domination mode is all about generating supplies to call in new units right? How cool would it be if Greasus generated supplies faster while he was on the battlefield, or in combat or something. Give him SOMETHING cause i never really got what he was supposed to do in battle. 😅
Ogres do not do well in static blob fights. Their low model count goes against that, and it is a waste of their mass(impact damage) and good charge bonus. Use Greasus+ Ironfist Bulls and Gnoblars to hold the ground and tarpit for a while, then hammer and cycle into it with various Bulls and maybe Ironguts. Maneaters hit hard, but have poor armour, so they do not want to stay in prolonged fights either. Ironguts should be 100 gold cheaper. All Maneaters should also be 100 gold cheaper. Greasus should be 150 gold cheaper and have access to the Snacks ability.
I mean really, why should Greasus have high melee defence form a lore standpoint? His lore is all about being fat, strong, smart, and rich. Not about being a especially skilled combatant with a impenetrable defensive stance
He should be able to take a hit because of how chunky he is. If you're gonna make him move at 2 mph then you might as well make him tanky when he gets to the fight
That's not true actually. He is meant to be a melee powerhouse who beat the crap out of a ton of Ogre tyrants to get his place as the overtyrant and his club is basically an equivalent to Old One tech in that it was a weapon used by the Sky Titans before they devolved into the Giants. He shouldn't have a crazy high MD but it could do with being a bit higher. 38 is awfully low for a slow melee character.

His weapon is also supposed to give him the strength of a sky titan, super giants that used to live in the mountains of morne. If you talk about strong Warhammer characters, he's in the top tier, beaten only by insanity like the daemon leaders, kholek and so on, but amongst "mortals" few can touch him. He didn't win his hegemony over the Orges by being a good talker. Its so goofy to have such a legendary character, the leader of all the orges, be an obese dude on a mobility scooter... not to mention from a balance sense there's no reason to ever use him.
an idea to make greesy boie more sustainable: a Once/CD-charges activate-able bite of his food to restore flat hp. takes no new animations, and very little effort to implement. also isn't a boring "add re-gen" answer.
I hope that Greasus will be given buffs, at least in the new DLS. I think he should have the ability to dismount from his throne, which raises his speed to the level of other ogres, and this will make him the equivalent of a regular tyrant, but stronger, but also more expensive, and also the ability to sit on his “Throne of Gnoblars”, which gives more HP so he can absorb more damage, but will become slower. I would also change his characteristics, since according to lore he is a fighter of the major league, the strongest of the ogres, easily defeating tyrants and dragons, I think he should increase his defense to about 45, as well as his HP, even if he already has a lot of HP, it doesn’t matter. he is the biggest and fattest ogre, this will also make him more durable. I think I can give it to him active abilities for attack and defense, and I think he should have higher armor, due to fat. I think this will make him a great lord fighter
Yes, if we consider the words of Josh Reynolds as canon, then in the battle between Greasus and Grimgor, Greesus won, but did not finish off the orc, and decided to eat it, and this gave Grimgor time, and he managed to take Greasus’s weapon, and when Greesus did not expect it, he killed him same weapon, so I agree that Greesus should not yield to Grimgor.
Suggestions for improving Greasus: 1, increase his melee defence 2, give him his gnoblar throne 3, increase his girth, he doesn't look fat enough to fit his title of 'shockingly obese'
my power fantasy is to more or less leave greasus the way he is but give him a HUGE MA and WS buff, make him able to beat the shit out of lords like kholek, a slow ass glass canon that will almost never be able to catch up to anything but if he does he should shred it within seconds!^^
But in other topic I wonder if you could do a tournament with any faction but the Lord has to be to be the generic kind, they can't use any named characters heroes are fine though I just want to see more gameplay in which people have to use the Lords people don't usually use. And I think we'll be more interesting to see the more generic fights without overpowered abilities.
I feel like too many Greasus games I see on this channel are games where you take him and write him off as bad immediately. So you throw him into combat against 2 SEs and he tanks for a bit then dies/does nothing. If you run Greasus more conservatively like you would an actual lord I feel he would do better. Not amazing and not in many matchups but better. I still remember the game where he kept Belakor from landing all game. He is still an anti-large specialist with good access to healing, I don't think anything actually wants to be in a sustained fight with him.
