Big concrete driveway-FINALLY finished!

Join the concrete crew as we finally finish off the last two concrete pours on this big Wisconsin driveway. We fought rain all throughout this job and it feels good to finally put some caution tape at the end.
There were a few issues on this job that we had to fight through. First there were employee problems which is never fun. Also I misjudged the amount of excavation that was required which delayed us, and of course all the rain. But the job turned out really good in the end and we will see if we can make up some ground next week.

I’m a truck driver and I deliver to residential all the time, trust me we don’t want to do residential. However, when something big is ordered there is only one way to get it there. And not all truck drivers are like that, I’ve made mistakes and always own up to it. But there are definitely drivers that can do no wrong.

Your change in respect for the cement truck driver is well founded. The success /demise of many projects can trace their roots to the attitude of the mixer driver and his willingness to actively participate in the placement of concrete in an efficient manner by doing what is requested of him. Too often their "opinions" on how the work should be done can frustrate even the seasoned professional.

That is really frustrating when drivers argue over their screw-up. A few years ago we were pouring 2 curbs going down into an underground parking structure and the driver dropped his chute and rolled forward blowing out all of the forms from top to bottom of the ramp. We had to reset 120' of double curbs and drive about 400+ stakes, then try to catch back up with the concrete that sat in the truck while we fixed the forms. I understand how irritating it is, especially when they try to blame something besides themselves....
@oui_ofc9751
@oui_ofc9751 2 года назад
I have been binging these playlists. Yes, that is actually true. Not taking the blame. "the front end did what it did" Sorry but you make the front end do what it does. The back end is what cuts the turn short. So, if you are blaming the front end doing that, That is fully your fault since you turned it short to start with.

As one person, set an example for you family and those around you. Then in turn they will do the same and so on. The tide needs to change in America because we are in trouble as a nation.

Another reason to get a pump. No plywood sheets and the trucks stay on the road. No damage has got to be a winner.
