Nah if it was Noel's outfit it would have been a dress paired with a giant sombrero 🤣 I love some of the stuff he wears, he just does his thing and it's fantastic. I would kill to be turned loose in Noel's closet for 15 minutes.
It's so hilarious...I laughed my butt off again when I saw it here, and had to pause. My partner does a character on Twitch called "I am not a cat," which is a lawyer who is an expert on cat law, who reacts to laser pointers and meows with sudden movements, and I redeem that character every time I can. EricTheReddVT if you want to see it -- I'll redeem it with my own channel points every stream I can LOL.
The amount of legitimate anger James feels when he learns Jimmy was actually on an Ed Sheeran song makes my day. "Hold on a second, that's not a joke answer, that's true? So there's like an Ed Sheeran song where the backing vocals are like HUH HUH HUH?"
@@GeorgiaOverdrive ...for Doctor Who...I agree with that assessment. I stopped watching Doctor Who as a result. I had suggested instead of a sex change to instead pick another Time Lord: the Doctor's granddaughter Susan, the Doctor's daughter (Tennant years), River Song, Romana...then after a few years (if necessary), go back to a male Doctor, like a guy who looks like the guy who thought he was a Time Lord but really wasn't (Tennant years). Richard Ayoade, maybe James Acaster could step in. Too bad Jimmy Carr couldn't be the Doctor, but he'd be a good sinister Master.
It was also a missed opportunity for Jonathan Ross to get one leg over him too, simply just adding that "Who hasn't been singing with Ed Sheeran?!" given that he was in the Ed Sheeran/Elton John Christmas song video. That would, most assuredly, have made him as angry as when Lorraine suggested Piers Morgan hero of the year on The Last Leg last year.
To me it's funnier how there are more and more non-white kids each year. Are they running out of whites? Or are they just too expensive to hire these days? Lmao
Ironically, until James circled back on it, I assumed that 'Japanese Toys' actually had the 'sullied' inference. Then I realized they intended actual toy toys.
I love seeing James more engaged. normally he'll wait until he's addressed and he'll have really good one-liners every so often but it's really cool to see him starting talking points more. He's really evolving as a comedian and person over the last couple years
@@regan3873 thats really what it is. when you know the group of people you are with you can really open up and crack jokes, but when its a group of people you dont know its harder to crack jokes because you dont know how everyone will take it.
I attended the filming of this edition of the BFQ. Here are some good bits that were edited out: jimmy gave more examples of unfortunately named reporters, one being Roger Boyes reporting on abuse of choir boys. Jonathan said Candyman five times at everyone's protest and a guy dressed like Candyman jumped out from behind the set. There was a reoccurring joke about kicking a tortoise. The only bit that made the edit was Jimmy's reference of "how did the tortoise get up so high?"
the Roger Boyes is an old joke. Are you too young for the old cartoon series Captain Pugwash…his right hand man was Master Bates and the cabin boy was Seaman Stanes.
@@gracehiggins2666 25 minutes in and I finally gave into the urge to click the original comment. And there you were, just 7 minutes prior, dropping the time-stamp. The time-stamp I was hoping to find. Brilliant! Thank you for your expertly timed comment.
It’s just there as an opportunity to say something funny, like the mascots in Cats does Countdown. Also, it would be weird to immediately start with the actual quiz, so you need some banter while introducing the guests.
@@daviddieudonne7829 I have always fast forwarded through that school act. It's quite pathetic considering how great show this is. Sean was the only one courageous to say it as it is. It was shite. Yet everyone here pretends to like it and they praise it so much that someone outside would think that these kids deserve an Oscar. Why do they do it?
@@badbadrobotrobot959 honestly, I never cared if they were good or bad, but Sean s reaction was just perfect. Only he could have done it that way and that’s why he’s so missed. I’m not British’s not even an English speaker, only know all of them thanks to RU-vid, but I watch the big fat quiz every year on yt and in 30 years I’ll still watch it and hear Sean s rant in my head. Same with school plays and other stuff we make the kids do, Sean is gone, but parts of him still remain and thank god for that.
Dolly Parton is an American treasure, but she will come for you. Seriously, an amazing lady for those who don’t know about all her awesome charity work.
@@FrenkTheJoy The only people that call it the "Trump vaccine" are the same ones who just call him "President Trump" without "twice Impeached" or "disgraced" or "objectively worst ever" preceding it.
@@rogergreen9861 not saying trump doesnt suck but lets not pretend the rest of the presidents from the states were great either. nixon, reagan, jackson are also some of the absolute fucking worst types of people
@@rogergreen9861 Watergate, the aids crisis, and the trail of tears. Look in not saying trump is "not that bad" by any stretch of the imagination but when we get blinded by the present we end up forgetting the atrocities of the past. Often they're not things you can simply rank either.
If you enjoy watching Jimmy genuinely laugh, check out 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. The comedians on that show bring him to tears of laughter a lot. Yet another great British show.
@@JG-kk1mr funny how the comment you are replying to has been removed but the comment counter still says it's there... kinda like they are protecting us but still padding their stats. I know the clip the comment was about though, I've seen it on about 12 different clips right here, I'm not sure why the comment was removed... maybe the all mighty algorithm doesn't like seeing the word spit written but the entire clip is just fine.
This was a perfect lineup this year IMO. I love the classic faces like James Acaster, Sarah Millican, and Sara Pascoe.. But also I thought the newer guests were great too, Judi Love, Guz Khan, and Tommy Petrol.
50% Taskmaster. My "Possible Enjoyment Scale Test" (PEST) for just about anything is now (Panel show guests /Taskmaster participants). A 50% result...sweet.
As I said in another comment : If they bring Mitchell, Ayoade, Noel etc, then they won't be able to fill their quota of a black (unfunny) person, an (unfunny) Asian/Indian/Muslim, some LGBT person or some (unfunny)feminist like Sarah who is likely to get offended by most jokes and everything is about patriarchy and oppression. That Judi lady was awful. She barely made one joke the whole show. That Guz guy wasn't anything good either.
@@badbadrobotrobot959 While i agree that those guys are fun & i dont like some of the people involved with this year's episode either, you dont have to be such a d*ck about it? Overall it was still funny? Maybe just grow up & accept that you wont always like every single person (involved in whatever, not just this example of a tv show) and move on?
@@MM-xz5by You know that my statement above was just a complaint and not an attempt at being funny, don't you? Of course not. You'd obviously reply with you punchline "you're not funny" irrespective of the original statement. You're such a genius.
I so love the big fat quiz, and in all its various forms, this has become an institution or a tradition that lifts us between the joy of Christmas and the exuberance of the year. this show lifts us from that week where we sit in the doldrums between the two celebrations. From its first conception, I have looked forward to it. Sadly we lost Sean and he is and will be missed, but this is a great show. Jimmy is a great personality and it is also a great stepping board for many comics and celebrities to get out there and launch themselves into becoming household names. It is also during these difficult times that we all feel that shows like this do lift us all. I had been looking forward to this year's show, and I was so surprised and gladdened to see it here, I do not watch TV much I tend to just use the internet to watch what I want to see, as the programs listed this year had nothing of interest to me. Long may this show, shows such as QI carry on. Learning can be fun. Thank you.
@@AlanHope2013 No, expressing happiness and appreciation shouldn't be stopped just because socially stunted internet people have learned that this is something to be repressed. In other words: we're being happy over here Alan, if you don't like that Alan, then you can fuck right off.
@@MobioDEN The way I see it, it should be the other way around: Richard does silly very well and he does serious very well, but he does not mix the two well, whereas James has the ability to make serious things seem silly and silly things seem serious, so with Richard we would get someone more like the twelfth Doctor and James would be more like the ninth - the only thing is he would have to something about his diction.
When Sara Pascoe called the The Children of Mitchell Brook Primary School "very very good" I could only think of the late Sean Lock "I thought they were shit, really bad. If I was their drama teacher I would be absolutely ashamed, I'd throw myself in the canal. It was some of the worst acting I've ever seen". Damn do I miss that man. Hopefully we can get some more Frankie Boyle on panel shows to fill some of the void he left with his brutally honest comedy. Also, I would definitely have given Sara and James points for their James Bond answer and on the Candyman question either giving them points for just getting "saying his name in the mirror", not having the amount of times as a criteria for getting it right, or not giving Guz and Sarah points because they put down both answers which is kinda cheating. So it would've either been a split win or Sarah and James would've won if I was the quizmaster.
I live in East Texas in the US. I'm so addicted to this show. I've watched all of your list at least 3 times each. Even if I don't know half of the answers, it's still awesome!
When I was a kid I was always excited for Santa and presents at Christmas more than anything. Now as an adult, this show is what I get most excited for at the holidays (gingerbread is a close second.)
I was thrilled to see James on this last year but I could tell he was a little low energy, as almost everyone was that year. This year he's absolutely in his element and it's such a joy!!
Apparently the last one wasn't filmed in front of a live audience, a laugh track was added in post. Must have been difficult for them not knowing whether the jokes were landing or not. They did well under the circumstances.
iT'S bIG fAt QuiZ tIME!!! The only thing I've been looking forward to this entire second bin fire of a year... although I love everyone on the panel, it's very strange not to have either Noel or Richard in it... Thank you for the upload, Rikki Sixx!
Bob Mortimer, too. Still feeling shock and sadness about only yesterday finding out Sean Lock died, and have no idea how I managed to miss the news as I am an info addict who attends to it constantly every day.
If I ever get to visit Britain, I so want to attend a taping of one of these. They've been my favorite thing for the past several years. I'm American and got into British panel shows in college, maybe about 6 years ago? Been obsessed ever since; I've never genuinely laughed at comedy as much as I do at British comedy and these uploads keep me going. Thank you for posting!
I feel the same way! Which ones do you watch? I wish we had more shows like this with the same vibe. I feel like American shows like this would miss the mark but I really wish we were good at this too.
8 out of 10 Cats, 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown, Celebrity Juice, Would I Lie to You...just to name my favorite 4 that are widely available here on YT with full series
This was a wild ride. I loved the slightly unhinged energy of it. Judi was just great and the teams overall were a wonderful match. Just one thing, where was John Snow?
Also all the thanks in the world to Rikki Six. I've been waiting literally all year for this. It's quite honestly been the highlight of the last 12 months
In my admittedly low number of BFQs watched, this is one of the if not the best. Jimmy actually makes good jokes and all the contestants make good jokes and balance it by actually being invested in the quiz. If any other better edition exists, do reply.
this might be the most competitive episode of the big fat quiz i've ever seen - i've never seen all six contenstants actually try their hardest before bahahahha
I used to think that Richard was one of the worst, most annoying panelists on panel shows........ But I realized he's really not that bad after I saw Judi.
Loved how instead of a banana, pizza or cheese plate James brought two pints of ice cream. I’m usually sad if Richard isn’t on, but this turned out to be one of the best panels in a long while, to my mind. All three teams seemed well-matched. Jimmy good as ever. But please come back, Jon Snow!

Do you really think that I consider you important enough to specifically "push an opinion" on you? LOL get over yourself. I hope your as diligent in putting up this years quiz as you were for last years. Thank you again for posting these for all of the non UK viewers. I wait all year for this show.
This was my first time watching and as an American I was rolling on the floor. Watched for Sarah, loved all the guests and the host. Can’t wait til next year!
1:01:31 These "say what you see" questions are very popular. They have similar rounds sometimes on Pointless, House of Games, Only Connect etc. Catchphrase is based on the same kind of concept. There should be a quiz based solely on the idea. It could include animated phrases like Catchphrase but otherwise mostly be rebuses and other visual word puzzles like the ones called 'dingbats' in pub quizzes. Examples of dingbats are: poFISHnd (big fish in a small pond), mil1lion or milonelion (one in a million), he's/himself (he's beside himself) etc. The show could be called Say What You See.
