I've known Rico for many years. I chilled with him for years. I recorded at the studio and hung out with him for many years. All the bro's over there were super cool. Rico was actually a good guy. Never hurt anyone. No ego. He loved to laugh, smile, and have fun. He was a handsome dude. Very smooth. Stand up guy. He wasn't judgmental. He allowed me to be at his house when I came from a different rap crew, he didn't care, he treated me like a friend. At this moment, I feel like a part of ATL just died. He and Ray and Pat, gave ATL Rap credibility. Before Organized, nobody took ATL rappers seriously when it came to lyrics. Rico and them created groups that no other coast could deny. I still remember the last time I spoke to Rico. He was very positive, as always. I'm grateful that I had the opportunity to hang out and chill with ATL'S biggest legend. To his kids, your dad was great even before you all walked earth. To the rest of his family, thanks for giving us Rico. RIP TO THE LEGEND RICO WADE.
@@trusoldier77 yeah I did.. I agree, it was dope! I want like a Straight Out of Compton type feel, that shows how all of the Atlanta artists and record producers came up and interacted etc. I think it would be interesting. Too many for one movie so a series would be dope. I think..
H.U.G.E CEO you right fam. The A is at the forefront of rap right now. I mean ny might have started and west did they thing but the South runs rap music. Every rapper out right now try to sound like they South artists. No one sells unlike the sound like the South
Straight up salute 🫡 to the brother they put it down. A lot of people think New York wasn’t messing with OutKast maybe the Radio but in the streets the first album that shit was hard. All the elements of hip hop but they had their own sound. Definitely top 10 greatest producers of all time to me
Rico was right. the ONE outfit i remember from that video was Andre in the Braves jersey with the teal Diamond Turfs. to be honest, before THAT we always thought we had to match. that video gave us the freedom to mix colors and styles.
Actually it was Diddy told Andre to wear the Atlanta Braves jersey so people would know where they are from. And directed the video, Andre said that himself
Let's appreciate the determination and work ethic of B-High. I always wanted to see you at this point because of your vibe gee. I've been following you since the beginning gee 💪🏾 💪🏾 💪🏾 I would like to be on your show
I just remember seeing it, when it used to air before they changed the chorus from "...on Christmas day..." to "...all day, errrr'day..." The beginning/ending was titled... Outkast : Player's Ball LaFace Records LLC Directed By : Puff Daddy
I'm from Chicago and live in da A for 15yrs. Dudes from the A hate out-of-towners to a fault blocking their own blessings. We are poor blacks in every state IL and GA included. There's no them and us when it comes to black folks north or south.
I peeped that shit too.l'm from Jers and we was bumping that Soul Food but this nigga Gipp got a upnawf hata complex.Always lowkey dissin north cats in every interview I hear

@daystar73 nothing to cope about.U Bama assniggas been holding a grudge for a whole region over the fact everybody didn't think y'all could rap.Y'all done held the crown for hip hop pr whatever tf u call what y'all doin for damn near 20yrs and y'all still bitter.U and this monkeyan lookin mf need to cope n let that hate go.Have a good day shawty
Yeah I feel him bcuz this is how CALI FELT WHEN EVEYBODY WANTED TO GANGSTER RAP AND WE HAD THE 808 DRUM FIRST AND MOVED ON FROM IT AND THE SOUTH STAYED WIT IT AND MADE IT THERES.
@wo to - GTFOH with you're lack of knowledge of the 808. "Planet Rock" was the first usage of 808 in 1982 and then it went to Miami in the mid 80s. Cali was all techno back then, where niggas was dressed up like the World Class Wreckin' Crew.
Naw..not really. West coast was running it for awhile but back then every side had their own sound. Scarface, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu Tang, Bone thugs, UGK...none of these or a million other groups sounded anything like the West Coast. It's way different now..for the worse. Hard to tell who comes from where.
Nigga wasent rapping gangsta shit the south got down with th movement and I dont mean south east..but the rest of dem niggas was rockin African cross color medallions in shit ..POSITIVE RAP .. UR RIGHT A TTIBE CALLED QUEST NIGGAS WAS MSKIN SELF DISTRUCTION AND ALL THAT SHIT... BONE THUGS IDOLS WERE WEST COAST GANGSTER RAPPERS , SCARFACE WSS AFTER THE WEST COAST WIT GANGSTA SHIT TO... XTOP
NY had the 808 first... that's where the "boom bap" came from.. the 808 bass (boom) and the hard, clapping snare (bap)... Rick Rubin created that sound
I've said for years that the Atlanta music scene is now made up of a whole lot of people that's not from the city and don't represent the real Atlanta. I feel validated after hearing Gipp say the same thing.
Coach Dollar almost got me to play Bball at Doug, my Mama wouldn't going fuh it tho. Coach had it all laid out fuh me! Dang Mama, I would've been da thang at Doug man!! Oh well, #FredDougInDaMfHouse 👊🏽
People complain but don't support the REAL shit so it go to the wayside. If I open a restaurant and I start off with pulled pork sandwiches and chicken salad sandwiches and I see the pulled pork sandwiches are selling a hundred times more than the chicken salad, eventually, all Imma have on the menu is pulled pork.
