We link back up with Joe Mackey for chest training.
This time he has his nephew Alex training with him going set for set and rep for rep with him.
Big Joe Mackey is in his offseason and talks us through how he structures his chest training routine.
"I always have at least one exercise where I try to go as heavy as possible. That sets the tone for the rest of the training session."
Joe uses a variety of exercises and rep schemes to totally "fill the chest with blood" which is his goal with every workout.
Alex talks about training with "Uncle Joe" to get bigger and stronger in route to a body weight goal of 200lbs and his first competition coming up next year.

I like the fact that u wear ur shirt while training I always tell ppl u don't have to brag or show off but when it's time to show they'll be brutally shocked lol

Yup that’s why Ronnie was always saying light weight because it helps mentally with heavy weight you have to tell your mind that the weight is light

So to get the maximum amount of growth you have to both work out heavy in that 6 to 10 rep range and work out lighter in the 15 rep range and squeeze the muscle under constant tension? Why not just one or the other? And as far as scientific studies go, don't they say for hypertrophy anything over 12 reps is basically useless?
