The fact that Angelina is the focus in 60% of the video just goes to show how much of a master negotiator and courageous ladder climber she really is She may have gotten zero votes at Final Tribal But she won the title of Sole Survivor in our heart 🙂
As if we needed any more proof that Jamal is way nicer than all of us, it's amazing that he at least tried to spin the fake Legacy Advantage into a positive for Dean, when I know most of us would've just laughed in his face.
I agree, the way he tried to help Dean out during FTC when he could have just dunked on him really shows his character. I'd love to see him get a second chance some day
People hate Idols cos of the Dan situation and call it the worst season and unwatchable, but for me it’s redeemable due to people like Jamal and Janet. Some of the kindest people ever on the show. I would love to have them both back.
I thought Jamal lacked ingenuity. Rob literally said this advantage could be anything you want. Personally, I would've gone completely innovative and written something about nullifying all forms of immunity at tribal council (including the necklace).
Okay but consider:that final six and five with Angelina was the funniest stuff I’ve seen in a while only due to Mike’s reactions. The wine glass while idol hunting, the face when Alison finds the fake idol. It’s perfect. Call him Mike TV
What do you mean nobody cared about Angelina’s big moves? She nearly climbed 200 feet and almost died plus was so selfless when getting rice for the tribe that she swept the jury vote against the White Lotus creator
offhand, there's: sarah guilt tripping troyzan abt how she needs the money maryanne downplaying her involvement with the taku 4 to gain relationships with the minority + lower her threat level natalie w getting in with the galu girls + throwing out erik's name natalie a telling jon to play his idol (as well as arguably switching her vote the next round but i feel like that's too big of a move to include) tony *somehow* convincing woo that cutting him at the final 3 would lose him the game tyson playing up his shoulder injury erika purposely downplaying her intelligence + making herself smaller around others sophie constantly convincing albert *not* to flip fabio "bein cool" i'm sure others i didn't think of !
@@uglyaniimals Fabio really doesn't get enough credit for fully leaning into the stereotypes people had of him on day one. Hell, the fact that we all still call him Fabio and not Jed, when it had never been a nickname of his before the show, says a lot. On top of just being a nice dude the whole season, it severely lowered his threat level even when he was doing great in challenges. Because as he pointed out, who would take a guy called Fabio seriously or see him as a threat?

Side remark, but I am so happy that Mike (DvG) participated to Survivor and was such a pleasure to watch. I watched his show White Lotus today and it is 100% smart, funny and fully his. Thank you for an amazing video!
All jokes aside Angelina is definetly one of those people who do small things and thinks they did ground breaking things that everyone should know about and make people acknowledge it.
I'm watching this new season 44 and I gotta say I'm enjoying every second of it cant wait for the next episode, havent watched survivor since I was a little kid and the commentary channels on youtube finally brought me back to something I didnt realize I was missing
So far 44 definitely seems to be the new-era season we (and Jeff/the designers) have been waiting for. It took us a minute but hopefully it keeps delivering!
A lot of huge moves are simply summed up as 'I have this person willing to vote this way' when in reality, there's a good chance that person they glossed over REALLY stuck their neck out and made a risky play, but because they aren't a major character in the edit, it's glossed over. Matt from the current AU season is a great example, he completely flipped on his super solid alliance to another alliance, but it was just summed up as 'we have him'. I wish we could have extended episodes available on paramount+ or something that really lets this stuff get fleshed out. Also Angelina is easily the only character post-Cagayan to ever have a shot at my top 5 of all time. What a miracle casting she was.
Why didn’t you include Ciara voting our her mom? That was such an iconic move than the community, especially Jeff, has forgotten about. I mean, SHE VOTED OUT HER MOM, how could we forget. Disappointed.

Imagine, a dude mentioned in passing in this video is also a multi-Emmy award winning creator of a multi-Emmy award winning show. Oh, and he wrote School of Rock. Oh, and he put some people from his season in said multi-Emmy winning show. Mike White seems like such a cool dude.
dean was the only person i was rooting for after kelley and janet left, and i remember lulling myself into a delusional thought process of thinking that dean could win the season once he got to ftc lol 😭
I'd make a joke about Ciera voting out her mom, but... honestly, it *was* a legitimately great move. It enabled Ciera to work more independently, she was a better player than her mom, and she was able to position herself well for a few votes.

You forgot when Sami lied about his age and didn't tell anyone he was only 19. Fr my jaw dropped when I found out he was 3 years older. Couldn't believe that he had been deceiving them the whole time about that.
Might be remembering it wrong but I think of Domenick Abbate with the fake idol making a very performative scene at tribal council, only to not play it, and lose the votes of all the people who were still in the game at that point. I rolled my eyes at that whole situation..
What do you mean ? Angelina's DARING 100 foot ladder climb was 100% a huge move that everyone cared about. Just like how she heroically got her tribe more rice using her negotiation tactics

I feel like Deans legacy advantage maneuver was legitimately a big move… that no one cared about. Him thinking it was real hurt him. If he’d said “it didn’t matter if it was real because perception is reality in this game” it might have played better. But instead he just looked clueless
Hate that this is how I learned that Nick WIlson is anti-trans. This fucking blows. DvG was my first ever season due to not finding survivor until I was nearly an adult. So having that winner that I genuinely enjoy be anti trans is a shot to the heart.
I don't even remember Romeo's season. I might have liked it but I don't remember anyone from that season. The last season I really cared about was the season where Denise won and that was years ago. Really haven't cared much for the seasons after and I'm mostly watching out of habit. Although I gotta say I do like this season even though I hate having three tribes each season. Two was enough. Pretty sure by next season I won't remember anyone though. Not sure if there will ever be anyone memorable to me again on the show.
