That’s why I love it, it just works in almost any mix, whether you have it as a low overdrive or all-out mayhem. My only complaint is that it doesn’t “clean up” well with the guitar’s volume pot.

I love the rat. It reminds me of r.e.m.'s monster. Great tones on that album. The muff always reminds me of the pumpkins or zombie by the cranberries

Isn't the Rat supposed to emulate a a Fuzz Face (rather than a Muff) into a Marshall amp? I call a Rat a fuzzy distortion.

i feel like a RAT with the distortion level dimed does the thick creamy wall of sound that the big muff is known for, but with way more clarity and midrange so it cuts through. big muffs tend to disappear.

That is definitely why I prefer the rat. Or at least I’ve have several muffs come and go through the years, but the rat hasn’t left my board since I got it.

I love both but the Rat is definitely the more versatile and more useless in a mix.

Get the rat clone pedals they give out loads of fuzz at the top end , I think there all the same , probably made in the same factory, ive got sonicake rudemouse. Cheaper aswell

It’s just a true bypass switcher to compare the pedals so the output of one isn’t affecting the other.
