This is my personal updated List of New Bugs Found on PA5X 🪳 🔻 For musicians that use lower such as strings, almost 100% of us do, you cannot turn of the pitch bender for the lower. It will bend with your sound on uppers. This function does not work. 🔻 Songbook entry will not start on intro if your intro is selected to begin with. It will play the selected variation for a measure THEN go to intro as you saved it. Also you cannot select the songbook entry to the other player. Meaning if you’re on player 1, you may not select your songbook entry for player 2 and have it ready. 🔻 Estimated converting time from .SET to .KST: 2 hours (500Mb set) 🔻 Loading same set on keyboard: 20-25 min 🔻 Pads of screen should not act as a play button. When clicking on a pad on the screen, it should open the menu for you to select another pad like on every previous model. 🔻 Fill-in button after half of measure with your style on will play only your drums from the fill-in while the variation drums and accompaniments play altogether. 🔻 Home Screen needs mixer at all times. For live performers, we need levels of our drums, bass, accompaniments, lower and uppers on the screen the whole time. We don’t have the time to look and switch pages for this. 🔻 If your style is on and you turn on a pad, if the pad is more than two measures long, it will only start on the second measure. Regardless of when you click the pad. 🔻 When selecting a different pad, after clicking 4 buttons and pages to get there, it takes you to factory pads and not where the original pad is on your user. When you do select another pad, the volume automatically goes to 100 and the FX send automatically goes to 40. 🔻 Selecting a style is not fast enough. After you click on a new style while playing, it will blink a few times before it selects it. Most of the time, this is way over a measure and a half of the current style playing. This is not ideal for live performers. 🔻 There is no way for you to select the second style and have it in sync with the first one even with tempo lock on. It’s humanly impossible. Your tempo will match but you cannot physically hit the second style perfectly on beat with your first one. 🔻 If your pads are on while your style is playing, as soon as you select a new style, your pads turn off instantly. Way before the new style even comes on. 🔻 Intro 1 is not supposed to play your lowers when selected. Your lowers should work for intro 2 but not for intro 1. There’s a reason for that. Some peoples intro 1 plays a melody or plays different chords. 🔻 We should have a preference of not having the lists of styles, sounds and pads be in alphabetical order. People had these organized on the 4x into separate folders and pages. 🔻 If you are used to having a certain sound or drum kit you like on (user 1, page 3), you know it’s there 100% and you learn it that way. Not anymore, because everything is alphabetical order, things will move every time you add a new sound, pad, style, song, drumkit, etc. complete disaster if you know where your things are. 🔻 Acc. 3 freezes on the first chord you hit instead of chords you are playing. Same goes with some bass on styles. I’m playing a different chord progression, acc. 3 is stuck on the first chord without changing. 🔻 Some styles I made have drums or percussion that is detuned using my pitch bender. It will not play the correct detune until the second measure of the style. 🔻 If you are using quarter scale, this is not the keyboard for you. It will switch on and off at random. It’s almost like every few seconds it will play your quarter tone and then go back to equal scale. Non stop. 🔻 When making a new style, the menus for quantize, delete, velocity, cut and others are missing. 🔻 The bass should not be the first in order. Every keyboard since day 1 has it as follows….drums-percs-bass-acc1-acc2-acc3-acc4-acc5. 🔻 We need an option to customize your own keyboard. There are photos for every sound and drumkit next to it. You cannot select the photo you want when saving a new sound or style. 🔻 Website says we have 4GB and 8GB compressed but the keyboard shows we have 2.5GB. Not even close to what Korg is advertising on their website. If you think your going to have 4GB of space when buying this keyboard, you’re going to be extremely upset to find out you have only 2.5GB of space. 🔻 There should be an option on the main Home Screen from the drop menu to show only one style instead of two. Not everyone will be using two styles since they can’t even sync them perfectly anyways. It would be nice if you hold shift and play on the style for it to sync with tempo and for it to start perfectly with the current style playing. 🔻 When playing a pad that is a loop, a slice from the loops starts when you press the button. It doesn’t start where the loop should resume naturally. 🔻 If you start with a pad that is a loop (without the style being on) and then turn on the style after, the pad will be off from the style by milliseconds. Your ear will catch it and you know it’s not perfectly on. 🔻 When you hit your fill button, the variation will not go to the first measure, regardless if you have it set to start on the first measure. 🔻 If you have a pad that is an accompaniment or guitar, it turns off when you turn off the memory for your chords. 🔻 There is no Kaoss. 🔻 There is no option for midi to style converter. 🔻 Locked sets will not work nor convert. 🔻 If you have a folder with only styles, you will not be able to open it and view any of them. It must be a set folder for it to convert to the the KST format. 🔻 No support for EC-5. 🔻 For existing style, cv length cannot be changed. 🔻 There are factory styles that are still on here from the pa80. The house, dance, techno are not from this century. They are indeed what they say they are but not anywhere near the year 2022. So when you select dance, it is dance, just not this year. More like 1998 dance. 🔻 The screen, when all the way down, is not flush with the rest of the keyboard. It is slightly off and sits a little higher. 🔻 On the 4x, we were given a limit of approx. 15000 samples for 1.5GB of space. You are now given approx. 30000 for 2.5GB of space. Even though Korg advertises it as it giving you 4GB. 🔻 Korg needs to stop changing the format of extensions for styles, sets, sounds, etc. The person buying the pa5x is 99.9% coming from a 4x. And that person also came from a 3x and so on. It was already annoying enough that you couldn’t load 3x sets on the 4x without loading the folders separately. Now it’s just a jumble mess for people trying to switch over to a keyboard they thought they were familiar with. 🔻 Let’s be honest, wood sidings with a metal body do not go. Ever. With anything. 🔻 If you are from the balkans or middle eastern region and have a locked usb set, it will not work on here. ------------------------- These are coming from one musician only. And that’s for the way I use the keyboard. I know there are many more that other musicians know of and have found. Biggest flop of an Arranger Keyboard release from any known company. It’s extremely sad when it comes from a huge company such as Korg. You, the customer, are the beta tester. The beta testers that were given this keyboard months and months before it’s release, did absolutely nothing but leak photos and videos of it. And the sad part of it is, Korg hand selected these people to get their input on the 5x before they released it to the public. I understand that Korg can make a new OS for the 5X. This wasn’t ready for public release. Nowhere near. Same thing goes for the Pa4x. I know the 4x was release in 2015 but in all honesty, with all the updates they had to do to it, the 4x as we know it was released in 2019. 4 years of bugs and problems. If you are looking for a 5x and they are not in stock at the moment, call your dealer or store every few days. I know for a fact that there are customers returning them back after a few days of playing with it. You might be lucky and get a 5x for a used price. Still waiting for a Native Instruments proper arranger! That’s a company I would trust to deliver a 2022 sound, workflow & software. They have it all, it just needs to be done 🤞 These korg arrangers are the sound of the past! Still dull and fake, they’re only focusing on adding more & more features, while the audio-production trend is to simplify them, and increasing sound quality. And above all, korg is selling us 2010 tech, asking 5000 € 👀
@@Ahmad-Mounir44 I sad “I’m still waiting”, doesn’t mean it’s going to happen…But if it would, just think about it! They have it all already: drums acoustic and synth, guitars of all kinds and top quality, strings, horns, mallets, synths modern and analog, textures and innovative instruments, the most complex sampler, etc. All of those packed with patterns and presets for the most modern sound. I’ve been working on korg PA’s since pa1x, and trust me, it’s 80% the same sound. Here in the Balkans, all Korg Pa users will do the same thing: upload the old .SET from pa4x, and expect a better sound, but in fact it’s all recycled sounds, going back to pa3 or 2. The arranger segment must come with a totally different approach
Im surprised no aranger module or vst . These are overpriced .. and the os is lacking . But people still buying them . I bet 1 5k sale pays for 10 or 20 to be put out . And to put different pros and cons . Sampling should be easy it's not. Even importing a sample to make it a sound is hard on this stupid thing. No our appreciator on certain models and the cord. Chaos included in these models can only be used in style play. I would like to drop a sound and use chaos, and just use one sound. And play back on my d, A. W they don't let me do that. I think anything After the 3X is total garbage, including the 3X oriental cause. That was put out 2 years after the 3X.
I agree that NO firmware update since then. Most of their products have this problem. Unlike Yamaha and Roland, they are providing a regular update of their software.
Might I add you are the only channel that has been useful in determining the differences between all the PA's throughout the market? They make it very confusing, and they really do not define the memory the sampling the after touch. Or the individual ability of every keyboard? Or model they put out, I currently own pa588, i'm happy with it. I'm looking to sell my PA 700 and purchase AP. A three x, but now, i'm not really optimistic about that because of the lack of updates and the lack of caring from korg .
with the exception on ketron, i have owned every brand of arranger keyboard out there and heres what i found. from my first arranger korg i5 to my current pa600 , korg has been dependable for me in meeting my needs on stage with the exception of some poorly thrown together styles and poorly functioning fills to variations. some were very poorly mixed which i spent over a year cleaning this up on my pa600. in comparison my old i5s was better in mixed styles and fills. now i had yamaha psr series and tyros. they were simpler in styles and better mixed ,but i never got that live band feel with yamaha. it was like playing along with a CD .my roland g series and later va and bk series were (to me )an improvement in that live band feel especially the fills and drums. i recently bought a roland bk3 on ebay for a great price as a supplement keyboard to play around with. i found myself playing the bk3 more because it just sounds better and the fills and the styles are more polished. now understand that i like my pa600 for what it offers that the roland bk3 doesnt. im retired from playing, but all i want is a keyboard to give me live band sound as best as possible on stage with the least amount of hassel so i can concentrate on entertaining. i have produced several cd's with all of the above keyboards ,each having their own advantages, disadvantages. you just work with what you got,if it get too frustrating then get rid of it. im very happy with my set up. i used to work in a business where my job was to teach you to hate your present keyboard by showing you what your next (should you buy) keyboard does. that is what is keeping korg,yamaha and others in business. also roland stopped making arrangers because of a dying customer base, profit issues, closing the italy plant and in my opinion they made a great arranger that people kept. thanks for the video ...............regards dave
I agree with you 💯 with all these issues that you brought up. I’m using Korg Pa series, for the past 20 years and I just purchased PA 5X when it first came out couple years ago the worst product Korg ever came out with. It’s very frustrating they’re not communicating with the consumer when they will be coming out with the new OS And I am one of those consumers walked away from Korg. I live in the US my circle of musicians are from different part of the world. I already told them not to purchase it. It’s not worth it not to purchase this product and let others know it’s totally faulty product. Honestly, there is a lawsuit could be filed against them here in the US and I noticed people are talking on Korg forum about it …And one of the other biggest problem I noticed they increased the sampling up to four gig but the sample slots only 30,000 that’s not enough as you mentioned for people they use long samples and number of samples.
No1 problem i had in all korg pa... everything freezes when you change the values in "record style/Event edit" menu and you need to restart the korg pa... BIG problem!
I completely agree with the video My experience with korg was terrible. I have a korg pa 1000 which was bought in 2021. Initially it had some screen freezing issues. I thought it was a bug. I restarted it for a few weeks. but after some months the display went insane! They replaced display with a new one. but still i face some other new issues. 1)screen freezing 2)screen randomly changing its menus and options 3)Some times after booting the keyboard volume automatically gets low even if the knob is turned up full.(Had to reboot to fix) 4)One of the 'Voice selection' button is not working.("Ethnic button") 1)Styles and voices are not so tempting to play.(except the strings) 2)The Fill-ins are so terribly timed that, it misses the time. Only a few Fill-ins are triggered at right intervals. 3) ESPECIALLY their kaoss effect is a function with no timing. It will trigger when it likes! I am regretting now for the stupid idea to buy this pa 1000.
I agree ....let me add an important function that Korg thinks is being taken care of by songbook ... ONE TOUCH FUNCTION ....pls just songbook cannot store one touch settings as it implies ...its nothing to write home about ...pls they shd do something about ....and let me retereit this disconnect between manufacturer n users ...they take divisions and add and remove functions at will without any consultation ....sometimes remove the favorite fubctions
1.Midi works good but you need to fix some things in DAW. 2. It is not true that it has, 15046 samples it has Dubble for shore. The rest is true. To many buggs. Korg pa5x needs a uppdate and it will come soon a new uppdate this is only TEST version
I have a Havian 30, the keyboard is problematic. One key suddenly lose velocity sensitivity, just level 127 I think. Later that key was restored without any repairs done but the same problem transferred to a different key.
Benar sekali, kritik terbesar saya terhadap Korg Pa adalah overprice 🤣 Sebagai pengguna juga Korg Pa600, saya menemukan bukti soal “measure problem” sekalipun saat perform live yaitu pada saat “fill in”. Pengguna Korg Pa600 pasti tau betul masalah “fill in” yang mengganggu ini. 🤣 Dan soal bug, kalo di Pa600 yang paling saya rasakan adalah limiter/compressor-nya yang kalo terlalu di-compress dan diangkat, akan muncul bunyi letupan-letupan yang bisa merusak soundsystem kita.

I think this is a very important video, cause i have the korg 80, 60, 50sd, 700, 1000, 4x. and psr 630, 640, 740, 1100 2000, 2100, 3000, s910 tyros 5 and genos. THE PROBLEMS ARE SOFTWARE AND KORG COMPANY DOESN´T LISENT TO CUSTOMERS. Korg is now a copy of Genos, and tyros. Yamaha wins.!
Actually we should be fair that all electronic devices have a problem. If Korg have some problems also other brands have much problem. But I consider that korg is the best so far and better than other brands. We have to look and compare korg with other so we can know the difference. I have tow korg keyboards and so far sooo good. Roland now they produce synthesis and no workstation arranger anymore. Yamaha arrangers technology is not so advanced like korg. Korg produce touch screen keyboards long time ago before any other brands in the market. Yamaha lately produce touch screen keyboards and other brands till now they did not. So we have to confess that korg still at the top regarding the arranger and synthesis keyboard and and device over the earth some times have issues. That s it. Good luck for every body.
Not true. Never had a single problem with my Pa4X and when I thought I had a bug on it and contacted support, they responded quickly. The only things that are true in this video are the price, it’s too expensive indeed, and the file management. Build quality is superb, don’t know how you use your pitch bender, but I never had a single issue with it. It sounds great too. The Pa4X is a lot older than the Genos for instance, and still offers a lot more functionalities than the Genos. Also, look at the market for alternatives. What do we have available? Overpriced Ketron and absurdly expensive Genos? Roland arrangers? No thanks! I upgraded to the Pa5X. Just waiting for it to arrive. I’m sure it is superb.
Interesting video. I've owned and been playing Korg Arrangers since their very first one over 22 years ago - the "i2" - I currently own the PA4X but I am seriously scared to part with money on PA5x because it is so NOT ready. This has left me now moving in other directions - sadly there is no alternative with regard to arrangers - Genos doesn't cut it as a professional arranger - so what else is there? Nothing!!! Do you think this is why Korg have been so lax in releasing this PA5x with so much untested? With little or no communication from Korg, it is impossible to have any idea how "quickly" they will address these problems or how dedicated they are to fix it up. I'll review it in 12 months time and absolutely no sooner. Very sad about this. Thanks for the video.......
You can use A Band in a Box, where you can input chords and choose a style. You can find a lot of videos on RU-vid about this software. For about $500 you will get 3300 styles in audio and also in midi, recorded by professional musicians in professional studios. Korg has only 600 midi styles but the price is humongous. Just have a look at Band in the Box by PG music.
Korg PA's are the best. Besides that, since they are very complicated -having so many features-, one might find some bugs. Pa5x is almost double priced for what it does. Finally there is a more than adequate sequencer on board, guitar mode 2, sampler and style creation. Competitors do not have such things. If you play eastern music, then Korgs are one way. You sound disappointed, but there's no other serious alternative. Owner of PA1000, ex Pa3x and Yamaha Genos.
@@AryaProduction I understand you, I am not even 75% satisfied with Korg and their policies. But, since it's way better (for the use I need it) than Yamaha, that's why I prefer it.
Can someone tell me if there is a app where you can create Korg styles on a PC?, I've been looking for such a app for a very long time, in the video it looks like there is such a option.
Look at Yamaha... I have Genos from beginning of its time, and it was only one major upgrade (search for improvements on the internet). We don't have SST, we have something like Round Robin, but only from factory we cannot create them. We cannot edit SA and SA2 voices or to combine them with other voices. We don't have sustain control in style (WHAT?! Yes, indeed, we don't have it, the rest of the brands implemented it for at least 15 years ago :))) ) There are much more gaps in Yamaha than Korg, but there is only one thing I like it! The sound, is different from Korg Pa4X and earlier. But PA5X is quite good, and I have friends which have bought already the PA5X keyboard. Some missing functions, but software update will solve it. There are so much to talk about these keyboards and brands, but every company has its own pluses and minuses!

Thanks for this video. I am not aware of the problems you mentioned here, specially the sampling part. But good emough, it gave me awareness. Problems I encountered so far with my Pa700 after a few months of use: 1. Glitchy screen sensitivity, must be the sensor assembly, and/ or humidity. 2. Some styles are too much for the RAM to handle. Could be the processor. 3. Compared to my old Casio CT6000, my Pa700 cannot sustain some sound after selecting one voice to another voice mid performance. 3. And last, though not a problem but i hope it is not much to ask from the developers; I just wish the display had a clock. I hope KORG sees your video. Thanks again. Subbed btw
i can not agree with any sentence of this vid. i had pa3x and pa4x used more than 10 years on stage. not one single problem .. and many updates from korg with new features. i am wondering why the creator use anonymizer voice and his identity is not provided. so i cant believe this vid and for me it is still a try to make korg looking bad … (and earn clicks here). sorry that i looked this vid. i sure will buy a pa5x bc for me it is the best instrument on the market.
I used korg from korg I30, korg pa80 until korg pa4x. Then my passion died for it because every pa arranger sounded exactly like each other. I got tiers of this and changed up to Yamaha psr series and Yamaha Genos, now I'm on vst stuff and cubase 😂
I have Korg Kronos X and I have not experienced any problems. I have never had a Korg arranger. I was about to buy Pa5X, but now I am in doubt. Is Yamaha Genos a better solution for an arranger? Regards, Ian
No, it is not, comparing to Korg Style creator and all its functions inside, Genos, and all Yamaha are quite limited keyboards. Style creator is a shame :)) Missing controls, you cannot make styles with different measure types (only PSR-A5000 can, but they don't want to make an OS update to Genos to accept different Section Type). A lot of other things in Yamaha Expansion Manager software which is very limitted, comparing with Tyros 4 internal Voice creator ;) A lot of parameters missing there, too. So, every brand has its own gaps and garbages :)) !

U gave best recommendations for Korg company with this video.specifically raspberry pie cpu that’s very weak cpu .they are playing games with customers many years instead of using Qualcomm snap dragon 8 generation one for cpu that can get higher sample rate like 16 bit 192 kHz studio quality on stage .
No appreciator on the p700. I agree a 100% with everything you're saying and I could say a lot more. It's a crappy operating system that has seen no improvement in my opinion, since the pa five hundred
First a buggy flagship arranger, then $1400 Kaoss Replay. Worse, the Pa5X doesn't have Kaoss? Korg is displaying serious Lightwood Laminate energy right here and there.
And there is a talking about removing the limit iff samples so not having a limit at all, because it is not going hand on hand with 8Gig Ram memory linear and limit of samples. Mathematik does not work so.. 8 gig linear must remove the limit of samples

why they don´t use a digital out, to record, the channels separated, on a recording software, if korg does it, everybody will want to move to korg, cause, we all want it to be recording like a audiocard does, usb from keyboard to computer. imagine 16 or more tracks recordes same time separated, no noise no cords, etc. just the usb cord. blowing mind.!
I talking about midi record... But not for aux or bus mode like digital mixer... Just for midi record 16 track separately.

It would be even easier to test it at the store for hours before buying it and selling it again lol I hope you haven't lost much money because anything unboxed loses a 1/4 from the original cost I think.
I agree with your review hundred percent I am a Korg user for the past 20 years these are the major problem with all their arranger keyboards since I’m using PA3X The reason I sold my KORG PA4X because of all those issues not enough sample memory and now they give more sample memory in PA 5X but not enough sample slots 15,000 is not enough at least they should have increased it to 30 or 50,000 sample slots as you said I am a big sample users myself that use large sample‘s now I will not purchase the 5X because of these issues I will wait and see if they make any improvements .

Another thing that Korg needs to update is the Kaoss effect. Sadly, PA5x doesn't have a Kaoss effect. Btw, not only Korg, all Yamaha products are overpriced. The most affordable products that have pro features are Casio.
korg would not put out a flagship product with all those bugs especially since it is not cheap I have a nautilus and it is perfect I know there are updates on all keyboards as little things need to be fixed what the fuck is the AI voice .... ??????
Not enough styles, not enough variability on styles. You should be able to switch a baseline while playing it in from different styles. It's a really lazy operating system and the only reason they keep it lazy. Is, people are buying this
I play Genos myself and it is a very good keyboard, probably you will comment on this too!!! What I can say is that I am impartial, and what you have said here is not even 20% true!!! What is known is that the software is quite difficult, but otherwise very good arranger keyboards! As for the Pa5x, upgrades will follow very soon for the currently missing features. I would say stop spreading this nonsense!! You will not get any likes from me and many.
@@musicman7016 Hi Music Man, I watched a RU-vid video where a guy says that when you want to transpose (he calls it shift notes) a style, you have to use a software to do it, but you cannot do it on Genos. For example, if I want to transpose a style from C major to DMajor, I can do it on a keyboard on the front panel of a keyboard, but this is not possible to do on Genos. Transposing the Pitch in Semitones (Genos): You can transpose the overall pitch of the instrument (the keyboard sound, Style playback, MIDI Song playback, and so on) in semitone steps using the Transpose +/- button on the control panel. The operation display can be called up via [MENU]-[Transpose]. Master: Transposes the pitch of the entire sound, with the exception of the Audio Song and input sound from a microphone or the AUX IN jacks. Keyboard :Transposing the keyboard pitch including the chord root for triggering Style playback. Song: Transposes the pitch of the MIDI Song.
