It's been a fight, but we've certainly loved having Big Red around! It's a very cool truck and an awesome story, and it's been so cool to be a part of its story!
I'm not sure what the next video will be on this truck... It still needs some work to be roadworthy, so I'm sure you'll see it again soon! Thanks for watching!
I've had luck soaking the whole carburetor overnight in gas allowing the gasgets to soften up more times than not don't even have to disassemble it also helps in being able to reuse old gasgets
I had a 66 chevy truck with a 230 six back in 87 ! Did a complete overhaul to the engine and didn't even pull the engine! Outside in the cold rain! Overnight so I could make it to work the next day! Two wheel drive has to have the engine jacked up to get the pan off! 230 head push rods go in easily! Not as tall of a block! 292 is a tall block!
That's awesome! I think we said it in the video, but these Chevy straight six's are a great for someone looking for their first project. Simple, reliable, and easy to work on! Thanks for watching! 👋
Back when I was a kid on the farm my first vehicle I ever worked on was a 66 Chevy truck! Did an engine swap! Took the 230 six out and replaced it with a 73 250 six! Found out alot about old trucks! 42 years ago!
This was the first one we've actually driven! They're definitely getting hard to find! This one is even more special because of all the family history. Very cool story!
8$ head gasket is just unheard of these days! I swapped a set of HP aluminum heads on my 78 blazer and the head gasket called for a special thickness and design and they were 50$ each. I wonder if there real cost to make was only 8$ and they only wanted to give me the shaft?
I was totally expecting to have to buy a 50 dollar head gasket for this one to. I couldn't have been happier to see that it was only 8 bucks. Have you had any problems with those aluminum heads. Leaks?
Fantastic work, glad to hear it fire up again. Bet it was 10 years ago last I heard it, after sitting out in the field for five years or more. Sounds better than it did then, for sure! 1:07:08 ❤ inspiring hope at last for Big Red! Liked, subbed and shared!
As I see it... millicorns is incorrect .. Not a valid measurement parameter. Corns are in the same measurement parameters as foot pounds. Inch pounds are in the same measurement parameters as Kernels. BTW.. Happy Valentines Day Emily and Jerry.💞🎶
That is correct. Millicorns is just the technical name for Kernels, but there are still parts of Nebraska that use the term Kernel. 🤣🤣 Thanks Ray Bann!
