#thelifeandsadending A Mini bio on the life and career of actor Michael Dunn. He is best remembered for appearing on the 1960's tv show "The Wild Wild West".
He was terrific in everything he did. The Wild Wild West was one of the best series ever made and Michael Dunn was the supreme 'bad guy'. I always thought he had a great voice. He's missed.
One of my favorite movies Ship Of Fools featuring many actors. On WWW he was excellent in that role switching from evil and then flashing that great smile. Definetly gone too soon. 👍
Doctor Loveless! I loved the banter that went on between him and James and Artemis. As James said at the end of one of their duo episodes “I’ll miss him, that little man with a giant rage against the world”
Oh my goodness, I did not realise he died so young...just short of 40! He was indeed a very good actor with a very broad range. He could be disturbingly menacing to lovable and all between. I so look forward to your broadcasts!
I clicked on this video just because of seeing his face, he was a great nemesis against James & Artumas one of my favorite shows WWW, I’m singing 🎵 the opening song in my head as I write this. Thanks for the memories 👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
He was a great villain in Wild Wild West. I know I’ve seen him in other roles but that’s the one that always comes to mind. I was watching it in the 60s too.
One of my older brothers LOVED "The Wild West" and I have to admit it was a pretty cool TV show. I did enjoy teasing my brother about how Cocky James West was in the show. His haberdashery was always tight fitting and perfectly pressed! 🤣 True to his TV persona, Robert Conrad was a pretty arrogant guy in Hollywood throughout his career so I guess he just stayed in character whether he was in front of a camera or not. But I especially enjoyed seeing Michael Dunn in his recurring role. I was always fascinated with his acting enthusiasm! I agree with you Steve, Mr. Dunn was absolutely my favorite Evil Guy in this Series and that's saying something because this show had many good ones too! MOO From COW-lumbus, Ohio 👋
Thanks for sharing Dunn’s fascinating story. I never knew he died at such a young age. So sad … One important note about “Ship of Fools”: He received a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for that role.
Wow he was only 38 in 1973? As kids in the 60’s of course Wild Wild West and Star Trek were our go to shows and he was a favorite guest actor of mine. Very sad and he passed way to soon ❤️
You know, I only remember seeing him a smattering of times; however, his appearances in the different TV shows were always memorable. So, I do remember this fella well. I, too, remember the man from the original television airings of his performances. Though, I was only a kid at the time…
I too watched The Wild Wild West as a kid . So I sure do remember Michale Dunn and his character . It’s great the shows stills Aires to watch today . I especially appreciate your pictures of Michael Dunn with Lee Marvin and Richard Boone .that’s awesome❤ Oh wow 38 to pass that’s sad. 😇🎭📺🎥⭐️
Michael was terrific in Wild Wild West. 1966 Nominee Oscar. Best Actor in a Supporting Role. Ship of Fools · Laurel Awards. Ship of Fools (1965). 1966 Nominee Golden Laurel.
IMO, his best appearance as Dr. Loveless was also his first, "The Night The Wizard Shook The Earth." The character spoke one line that Dunn would have understood all too wel:"I've lived with pain so long I no longer feel it".
There are no sad endings, there's only an end that destiny has in store for you, but destiny doesn't make judgments about whether an end is sad or glorious, it simply is and there's no way out.
"Little man, with a big talent", isn't disrespectful, it's what it is. This 'giant', of a man, was a big (yes, pun intended🙄) part, of my childhood, growing up in the late '60's - early '70's😁👍!!!!
Like you, I saw the Wild Wild West series in its original broadcast. It was one of the must see shows of my youth. I agree, the best episodes were those with Michael Dunn. He also made an appearance on Star Trek in the first season, I think. In the USMC I served under a lieutenant who resembled & sounded like Michael Dunn; our platoon always referred to him as Lieutenant Miguelito!
I also saw the originals I’m 71 and he was my favorite character on the show. Actually, I turned on your video and paused it before I started it, and I was trying to think of his character name and I was doing a few errands around the house and I remembered his last name loveless. I do that at my age. It keeps my mental status up-to-date.
I didn't know who he was. Then, i remembered him in the first episode of Get Smart. His character was named Mr. Big. The show was funny and he was talented. I just thought ot funny to call the character that when he was so short. I didn't know about his other work. His early death is sad.
Dunn and Phoebe stole the show on Wild Wild West. Another good villain on that show that died young was the great Victor Buono. You could do an episode on his life and sad ending.
Juggler64, yes, that is the late Richard Kiel in that photo with Mr. Dunn. Kiel played the character: "Voltare" in one episode of 'The Wild Wild West'.
Wow I forgot all about the Wild Wild West. I used to watch it with my Aunt. I guess it was the reruns. I bet many young people don't know about 'reruns' or 'repeats' 😂😂
