Me and my coworker (who also worked in the bike shop) watched you change a bunch of gears before you took off and we had started cringing as you started pedaling, then it started all the clunking of the gears trying to change under load and a little voice from behind the camera said “that sounded bad” and we both died laughing!! I love it. We are both jealous of your detached shop 🤩 thought you might get a kick out of the fun caused by your little person. We both live in Memphis. Love your channel.

Yeah it old thing that FWD trucks fight when really big /tall tires changes the powerband of the truck, getting ready to change my 04 GT from the stock gear which I believe they 3.27 and put 3.73 gears.

U can convert the rear drums to dic brake rock auto 87 turbo Thunderbird rear brakes u have to buy the mounting bracket from LMR and brake proportioning valve u have $400 in it well worth it

Old tire size/55mph divided by new tire size/x =. This will give you your speed, and the difference between tires. Applies to gears, anything that rotates that changes wheel speed.

I’m a tall tire fan. 305/45r18 on my TA with 4.56 gears.

I'm the type guy that looks are greater than speed. I'd rather my car look good than hook good. Not gonna sacrifice the look of the car for 12 seconds of a race. Thats just me though.

Maybe I just need to get some 28's instead of changing gears down for turbo.

By now somebody has said that the wheel spec chart you showed is for front runners.

That’s just another reason for an automatic… 3.27’s with my 28’s the car been a 1.36 60’ and has a good bit left in it.

You mentioned that it is common for fox bodies to lean slightly to the passenger side. My 90 GT leans significantly to the driver side, which I have read up on and seems to be quite common as well (foxbody lean). When I bought the car In completely stock form with 80K miles the car was sitting about 1inch lower on the driver side, front and rear. 25 years years/20K miles later, I have replaced and upgraded every single suspension piece on the car and it still leaned to the drivers side. I finally “fixed” the issue by putting coilovers and adjustable control arms on the car in order to even everything out side to side. As I mentioned, I have read up on this issue quite a bit and and have even seen some cars in stock form with pretty low miles leaning to the driver side. From what I have found so far, nobody seems to know the cause. Any thoughts?

I smell what your stepping in! 😂 my 95 5 speed with 4:10’s, cammed, gets almost 20 mpg’s. I did almost all highway driving when I checked it, back and forth to work, 1/3 backroads and the rest high way and interstate, drive through a little town with a couple stop lights. Just incase someone out there was wondering.

Tire spin saves the drivetrain but taxes the valve train. If you stick it with 60’s you will find the weak link. The higher gear sets in a 8.8 are stronger. 3.08 , 3.27 , 2.73. Try the 315/35-20 radials with adjustments to back space

I have 4.1o's in my 02. 1st gear is basically useless. 4th tops around 12o and gas mileage is actually good on the highway (2o-22 mpg)

Mine are 25.9" tall by spec, with 3.55 rear with 335 T5. A tad too tall for my idea, originals were 25.1". If gas mileage really matters, why are you hot rodding your car?

I run 325/50/15 and they stick out a little. The taller tire for me is better at the track as with 3.73 I run out of gears in the 1/4 and have to shift to 5th gear when using 26" tires. On the 28s I just finish the 1/4 at 6000rpm in 4rh.

I went from a 2.73 rear gear to a 4.10 I could tell a huge difference from just letting the clutch out the car would stutter and do all this crazy shit with the 2.73s and the trans had a 3.35 gear set I put the 4.10s and it’s so easy to get the car to move and it feels even more powerful

I just bought the vms v star wheels for my car I’m looking to run a 26 x 10.5 m/t stiff wall on mine didn’t want to go to tall because the doesn’t make much over 300 hp on motor it also has a 4:10 to help it get out of it’s way lol those Hoosiers look good by the way

Man I remember on my old 86 before I got my 91 I had some mickey Ts on there I think the gear was stock nothing crazy well I started doing donuts with those slicks bad idea after awhile I instantly heard a clunk and thought I dropped my transmission it would still go in to gear. But later I found out that my rear end got twisted up and torqued the pin that goes in there. So after watching this video now I know lol

I think the fox looks good with as fat of a tire as you can fit under them without tubbing the rear.
