The Ford Fiesta ST is one of my favorite cars Ford has EVER made. Lightweight, great handling, enough space for most things, and great driver feedback. However when I had the chance to drive a 300HP BIG turbo Ford Fiesta ST I just couldn't say no. So how is a bunch of power in this little hot hatch? Let's talk about it.

I sold my 2017 5.0 to get a 2016 FIst cause of money. Despite how sad I was after I sold it, the FIst was like finding a new girl that isn’t as hot as the last girl, but she makes you way happier overall.

@@liamoconnell1308 I went from a 08 gti to a 15 Fist and loved it! For me it was so much more fun to drive, but the gti felt way more luxurious. My biggest gripe over the years was the interior design being so dull for dailying. I made a few upgrades that made a big difference visually like red/black leather wrapped steering wheel and carbon fiber shifter etc. but all in all i have no regrets. Owned it for 7 years now and still get excited for every drive.

@@liamoconnell1308 Back in 2015-2016, I test drove the Polo GTi, Golf GTi, Proceed GT, 208 GTi, Clio RS, Focus ST, Fiesta ST, Mini Cooper S, and... the Swift Sport. eventually settled for the Fiesta ST200 (a EU special edition) because it was the most fun to drive, and the cheapest, after the Swift Sport, which was actually also fun. Problem with the VW lineup, they are fast, but expensive, and boring. the driving feel is just boring. too much nanny computers.

Get a intercooler, racing thermostat, and possibly a radiator! Especially if you live in an area that gets HOT

In many ways, I regret getting the Focus ST over the Fiesta ST. I wanted the added power and space, but now I'd be more than happy with the better MPG and lower monthly payments.

I thought I was gonna be disappointed after driving a heavily modified focus. Ended up getting a moderately modified 83,000 mile fiesta for 13,000 (focus was 17,000) and I couldn't be happier. A little more space and power would be nice but I'm making it work! I have a single dirtbike\mtn bike trailer and I'm gonna throw a hitch on when I get better shocks and closer to stock height. It's a blast and I'm stoked to take it on the dragon soon!

You have the one you want unless you’re 5’5” and have no friends lol I’ve had both you really won’t notice a difference in economy but you’ll spend every day noticing the lack of space and power not that fost is a powerhouse but definitely beats the fist in general passing power…

Had a FiST for about 3 years. Recently got rid of it for a Golf R for some added room, and of course faster. In almost every way I miss the Fiesta ST!

I had an .:R 32 and when I totaled it I bought a FBO e30 FoST as a replacment cash no payment. and let me tell you I DONT kiss the .:R 32 what so ever. when I'm done going BT my next car will be a MKVI R ✅️ . the FoST is such a fun car and so light weight

Awesome video, I have a 14 Fiesta ST with 97,000 miles on it, it has a Cobb stage two tune, short shift kit, 3” exhaust. I’ve had 14 cars & 9 Motorcycles in my life and at 73 years young it’s the most fun I’ve ever had driving, I’m on my 6th set of tires, that’s how hard I drive it, my friends can’t believe I’m on the stock clutch. What makes it so unique is there rare, there not like your normal cookie cutter cars, I have many Visual mods and I get compliments all the time. The Fiesta Flash. 🤙🏼🍺🍺🍺

I've had mine since 2016. I gave it to my daughter last year. I made her give it back since I missed it so much and gave her a munch fancier car and one that cost me 30k more than the FiST in 2016. Thats how awesome this tiny car is

Have had a Fiesta ST for a new months now and it's just as much of a blast as everyone says it is. Can't wait for better weather and auto x season. Everytime I see it getting praise in reviews it just makes me smile. I love it's scrapy underdog vibes almost as much as the rewards of driving it hard. 🙌

Fiesta in general is just a solid car. I have the 1.25L version and honestly I love it, she's not fast but she handles like a dream and she's a blast to drive. Everything you can ask for from a cheap and cheerful car

I literally lay underneath my fiesta ST right now watching this lol. Just installed a Spec sprung clutch, not a bad job with a heated shop and a lift To elaborate, this is my 3rd time having the transmission off in 3000 miles of ownership 🙃. First time I thought slave cylinder had failed, it was the master. New slave blew out cuz I put the clutch in backwards (99% of the other cars I've done were different). Removed trans a second time and fixed the issue. Then I was able to afford the right part($500 sprung Spec clutch for my single Mass flywheel) so I slapped that in.

I'll be doing the input bearing in mine, and most likely the clutch and wear parts around it. Never done one, I'm a little nervous, but tired of dealing with a literal ticking time bomb lol.

It's funny that you mention that the factory turbo reminds you of a Saab, because I have always been a Saab fan and I kind of get the same kind of spirit from my Fiesta ST. It's kind of like a modern 99 Turbo, even the dimensions and wheelbase are really similar. I think I'm going to go with a hybrid turbo though instead of the full "big turbo" on mine though because that low-end torque is addictive!

TDIB with another subcompact! Having grown up in 2300 lb 80s $#!+boxes I recently test drove a Mazda 2 (the little cousin of the Fiesta) and within 30 seconds said to myself "it's good to be home". I'm enjoying all the tiny car reviews of late. If the spike in car prices (and gas prices for that matter) has been good for anything, I've had a rediscovery of little cars. Keep them coming!

My buddies setup is pretty similar except custom manifold, LSD, coilovers, a few other suspension mods and half gutted. It’s a blast to drive and ride in definitely top 3 handling cars i’ve ever been in

Had mine a year and a half now, it's also on an S280 and I just got that coolerworx shifter installed. Car is an absolute blast. It's a massive shame the Focus STs were a more popular buy because these are hilariously fun cars

I own one and know what's going on. In these cars, the seatbelt loves to slot in where the seat latches upright when you fold it down. If you don't move the belt when putting the seat back, it doesn't latch, but looks normal, until the first time you brake hard and it slams the back of your seat, haha.

Great video on a great little car. I had the Quaife limited slip installed in my Fiesta ST and what a huge improvement to an already great car. Amazing traction on takeoffs and out of corners. Highly recommended mod especially if your going to add power. Not cheap but so so worth every penny. My car is now ready for a bigger turbo.

Perhaps the most fun car I've ever owned. I saw one of these in Europe and bought one of the last new Fiesta ST's when I got home. The best part of owning one is the rare occasion when you pull up next to another Fiesta ST owner and they have the same big smile on their face because they know. The only downside is knowing I'll never be able to drive one off the Ford lot again.

I had a 2014 fiST orange w/orange recaros, stage 3 Cobb on stock turbo. Imo fist was so much better then the fost. I worked at Ford at the time and two of my co workers had stage 3 fost's so I had seat time in both. I remember people complaining about the rough ride in the RS, but I though it was pretty smooth compared to the fiesta st. Sold it to my brother and he still owns it. Miss that car.

Had mine with a hybrid turbo for 155k miles in 5 years. Super reliable and quick. Had the old pumaspeed x37...which is slow compared to the s280

This car is awesome. Stock turbo is a limitation. I have aftermarket FMIC, radiator, Turbosmart WG, catback, Whoosh hybrid, and Indy 500s. Got a catless dp in the mail. Add in an e30 tune later this month and should be over 300whp. Gonna hurt some feelings.

@@wetwea33 Where are you in the country? Here in NY e85 is easy to find but I spent three years in SC and could easily find it on Hilton Head Island where I was at but it was rarely found outside the big cities on the mainland.

I bought a 2016 fiesta st in 2018 with about 30k miles and ive put about 80k miles on it since ive owned it. Its really reliable, easy to work on, and very fun to drive. Im a delivery driver, and its my daily, and i love driving it all the time. Only complaint is it does not have a lsd. Planning on replacing that over the summer, along with some other goodies as well.

I just bought a 16 kona blue FiST this week and I'm in love with it so far. I can't wait till I do more mods to mine. Mine came with some simple but clean mods. After driving on for a bit, everything your saying is true! I went this over the the Focus ST/RS. Best decision ever!

theres a dude who lives just like 3 miles up the road from me and he has a white turbod focus and it sounds great everytime i hear it i can hear the turbo flutter along with snap crackle and pops. honestly not the biggest fan of non v8s but that focus is mean!

Europe been have the Focus ST/RS and Fiesta since 2002 but the RS badge been around for a long time. The Fiesta and Focus is still alive in Europe. Bought a Focus ST new and I love it I want a Fiesta next want both

One thing I noticed, between Focus St owners and Fiesta St owners, is people who used to own a Focus st, really don't miss that car. They don't brag about it, they rarely even mention they owned one. BUT oh my, you Fiesta St guys, the comments are filled with previous owners, regretting their sale of the car. That alone speaks volumes of the driving experience this little hatchback was able to provide. I didn't have an st, but I did have one of the rare 6 speed manual, 1.6ecoboost Ford fusions. Only 2013s, and they are hard to find.. Yes it was slow, but again, that experience of just owning the car and thrashing it, makes me miss it.. If I wasn't 6ft3, and fat, maybe I'd try a Fiesta st. Lmao. Fusion was just easier to sit in.

I have a FiST, i envy the cleanliness of his lol. 4:46 the oversteery brake vectoring is in the FiestaST too, just let off of the gas in a tight corner and youll feel it work. Sid North slid his in a corner.

Without this brake vectoring, would it be better to stay on the gas a little while in corners? I have a habit of letting off and just cruising or lightly on brakes in corner when spiritly driving but I heard that sometimes off the gas can mess you up

@@markie2xx yeah, you can trail brake mid corner until it almost straighten and gas out. You can also brake early going into the corner and gas lightly and then full throttle out at the end. Really just depends on how tight the corner is. Like lets say a 3 left corner (not sure if you know rally terms, but mildly tight corner.) I can be going 45mph with gas half pressed then slow press into full throttle as it straightens. Lots of weight distribution goes into play, too. Love it!

Keep it on that power level. 28.5 psi , injectors, xdi pump and e40 was a little too much for my block. Cracked a couple of cylinders.

I recently upgraded to the EBC Balanced BBK and OMG the stopping power is INSANE! I also threw K-SPORT coilovers on it and DAYUMN, its a BEAST! Crushed a Porsche 911 Carrera the other day on an of ramp. Guy was so confused LoL

yup, my fav car I was very late to the party! Glad I got my 2019! First-year no mods after I paid it off. SO far it's full bolt-on minus the bigger turbo. The tune was the biggest thing for this car Even stock a tune was massive! My next thing is Aux fuel & Big turbo. Love this car!

Go aux fuel with a hybrid big turbos take the life out of the car. I have stratified aux fuel, snow WMI, whoosh hybrid turbo, and I'm sitting around 360hp and 340lbt at 31lbs on 93 oct and 50/50 water meth injection

I'm currently doing an '07 Focus wagon build. I did a 2.5 swap from a Ford Fusion, 5-speed swap, full suspension with poly bushings and motor mounts, yada yada yada. Going the turbo route in the spring after I sort out the head and cams. Tuning this thing should be fun 🙄. TDIB you should drive this when I'm finished with it. My tuner and I are figuring on around 380 WHP. I'm from the Allentown PA area. I'll email you sometime in May/June when it's 'finished'

My FiST is easily the most manic, boneheaded fwd car I've ever driven. It loves spirited driving, it's easily manipulated handling wise and if you really want to, you can kick the rear end out 😂 its amazing

Just put my fiesta on a dyno and it put out 370 whp and 342 tq. I've got the turbo technic S280 big turbo and a single port aux fuel system running 50% ethanol mixture

I've got all new motor mounts ordered and I still would like to put in a stronger clutch and LSD before I beat on it too hard. This is my daily driver so I gotta try and not break it. So far only rolling races

@@anthonyh2540 oh, and I've raised the ethanol content to 65%. It didn't add any more power but it did eliminate all knock. 65% is about all the single port can handle without getting larger injectors and a better fuel pump

@@anthonyh2540 it's definitely a fun little car. Before this I had a GTI with about 300hp (280 to wheels) and when I got this I was becoming very disappointed with every modification that I did. Until I added the bigger turbo and it all just came alive. With about 400 HP (370 to wheels) and about 600 lbs lighter than the GTI, this thing is a blast to drive

Have had the S280 turbo on my fiesta now for 30k miles, it's still amazing. About to turn it into a monster because finally moving daily driving over to a Veloster N.

I was shopping between a used Fiesta ST and a Taurus SHO. I ended finding a SHO before a FiST. Not to say I made a bad choice, but looking back on it, I would have probably faired out better with a Fiesta ST. Yeah not as fast, no AWD boost launches, no massive trunk that a family could live in, but it would have likely been much more reliable and definitely better on gas and insurance. Cool little hatches!

Hey David , you should Review some camper van / off grid rigs I recently crashed my Subaru and am switching up fast turbo noise for reliability and practicality , housing market isn’t great rn either so I know a lot of people including myself are interested in a vehicle that also doubles as a home . U get drone from exhaust noises. And that's the beauty of turbo cars. They're originally intended so you can save gas while not on boost, and get a surge of power when you need it. However nowadays you pretty much always wanna be in boost.

I miss my ST. Ford bought it back due to paint just flaking off everywhere. Other then that and the harsh ride (kills your back when you have recaros). Such a fun little car though for the 2 short years I had it.

I loved my fiST but the recaros SUCKED!! It was fbo dizzy tuned absolute blast but I hated driving it more than an hour, my current s4 recaros are a night and day difference, I can easily drive 8+ hours with no back issues!

@@Poppenwicho yes I had this issue as well lol I think it was the seating position. Like you you were planted good in the seat but the angle your legs are at just wasn’t ideal for some people.

@@tech-garage1527 I’m with you. That’s quite the upgrade tho very nice! I switched to a 10th gen civic Si coupe. It doesn’t have recaros but the seats are worlds better. I am even on lowering springs (to keep active dampers) and it still is so much better then the ST suspension. I did see people saying coilovers could fix it but since Ford bought it back that never happened.

Hey I live in Ohio down the road from a guy with an original Saleen focus! Yellow with the numbering on the bumper. Only one I’ve ever seen and it’s in perfect body condition. Unfortunately it does sit often as this person is not the kind of person to detail his cars regularly so it has a moss build up every now and then. He raced me one day in my 1.8t Jetta manual swap big turbo and kept up for a minute. It was impressive. I would love to buy it for you to drive.

I have a big turbo focus ST and love it. The only thing I don't like is the gear ratio in the mountains. I'm in fourth gear doing 70 going uphill so I don't bog out.
