Love the GTI. Owned a stage 2 MK5 for a number of years. It was an '08 FSI in candy white. Didn't get to do as much as I wanted with the car before I ended up selling it to a cousin of mine who wanted it dearly. 2" drop on H&R Coilovers, on 18" black Ultraleggeras, 3" CTS downpipe into a magnaflow muffler, no resonators. Was pretty loud but still very tolerable at low rpms. Stage 2 flashed by Revo back in the day, and some other various things like a neuspeed intake, Forge DV and R8 coil packs. I had other plans for the car but other things got in the way. The plan was stage 3 with a K04, upgraded injectors and upgraded fmic. 6 Speed manual, not DSG. Car was a lot of fun, made roughly 230whp. Only had it on the dyno once. It wasn't the fastest car I've owned, not by a long shot but it was still a lot of fun. It looked amazing, it was super practical and just enough power to have some serious fun with as a daily driver that got almost 30mpg. Probably my favorite interior of any car I've ever owned with those interlagos seats.
What was your launch technique? Were you full throttle the whole time off the launch control or did you ease off the gas a little after the car started to go and then get back into the throttle towards the top of first gear?
cool video. id get tune checked car should have way more in tbh and you need slicks for sure, but my is20 car ran faster times and trap speed on street tires, thats why i say check your tune
@@alexxkolev I will sub to see your new results,I just picked up an R and am looking at the XL but maybe a standard vortex would do me better on pump fuel
Hell yeah man. I picked up some M/T radials for the GLI and they helped my times out a lot. I just subscribed. I’ll be keeping Emmy eyes out for another track video.
Yes. This was my first time at the drag. Running on bad street tires on 93 and pushing only 29psi. On slicks and e85 i should do a good time. Can’t wait for the dragstrip to open :)
@@alexxkolev I'd be curious to see how it runs with some slicks on 93 before going full E. Has to be some improvement on that trap with better traction. I'm trapping 116-117 mph with my IS38. Gonna be running E30 here soon, so I'm hoping to be in the 120's. Definitely give the 93 a pass with the tire and try it again with full E, always cool seeing the difference between the two. 😀
Street tires + FWD. It takes a sub-2.0 60’ to break into the 11s. Slicks or drag radials will get him there easily. The trap speed is the real indicator of power and acceleration.
This runs are on: - street tires - 2 revisions of my tune (not even close to full power) - 93 octane tune - wasn’t really able to turn traction off completely I am showing the process of tuning my car. Come check out my channel again in 3-4 months when i am back with slicks and tuned on e85 :)
Not bad for street tires, Are you using Cobb LC or stock? Do they really letting you race without a helmet? 🤷♂️ My only race was 12.7 @107 on my S3 APR stage 1, just waiting to get the downpipe install to load the EQT stage 2, hope to trap at least 112. Keep it ip 👍🏻
Sorry I don't know much about golfs and I can't seem to find many videos, just curious how fast do you think a mk7 gti with dsg + is38 + (best stage/e85/the usual) power would be, someone showed me viddoy where it beat a hellcat, huracan, gtr, mustang (Unknown mods of those cars) Perhaps a gtr with alpha 12 mod would defeat it or something idk haha all these interesting vehicles with different mods combos I want to see race eachother but super hard to find video or bad drivers or incorrect mod list or this or that hahaha
12.1* and i got 119 in one of the runs when i drop the psi on the tires. Haha many reasons for that. Street tires. I was only on my 4th revision of my tune so i was only pushing 29psi. My traction control was not fully on. Also that was on pump gas :)
@@alexxkolev pretty hard to launch gti as they lose traction due to fwd wheels spin/hops. But if it was rolling, definitely beat the s3 cause gti is way lighter.
12.3 . Good run but clearly your not putting down numbers close to the potential of that turbo. I was able to run a 12.45 on an is20, e30 tune from eqt
I was on my first revisions on my 93tune and first time ever doing drag racing. Going back to the drag next month with better tires and complete e85 tune.
@@alexxkolev O first revision? That’s no indicative of the final tune at all. From what I’ve read is EQTS first revision is purposely extremely down on power, just to gauge the how the vehicles running, I just picked up a standard vortex for my MK7, I’m only being tined for 93, hoping to see mid 11’ on a radial
@@debrajohnson4689 Not at all, the jerking is due to wheel hop/loss of traction. You can see he is shifting below 7k RPM on all of his runs. There is no way he has a rev limit below 7200-7300, especially since he is tuned by EQT.
