Hi Lord Al, Looking good your revised area. Like the stages of the project rebuild. Nice TMD, with Shed and Power Checker. Welsh Division of GBrF. A great addition to your layout. x The Bigfella x
The new engine shed all worked out perfect. i think you will like it . Brings the layout up to date again. Am sure there`s more to come on the Area. Cheers Paul..
When Lord Al sweeps his broom he doesn’t mess about does he… so relieved to know that all the Dragon Junction MK2 employees have found new employment! 😂 Joking apart I like the new developments. For those of us with wee layouts it’s great to see some of our locos and rolling stock running around a ‘real’ model layout too. Love to see your mighty fleet of 66s in action. All the best and take care Allan.
I will have to do an other running session with all the 66s . i did one a while back so i can improve on that film. So big thank you for watching Andy.
Hi Alan great job mate I now have track down on the no2 lift out bridge on my new layout I am now only two foot from track for Stranraer harbour trains now running on the lift out bridge maty
Hi Allan, what a brilliant transformation, I love the MPD’s , an often missed out feature. The new one is brilliant, and is in keeping with the layout. To see what you have done in such a short time, marvellous. I wish I had the space to do a layout of the size like yours. Inspirational layout Allan, I think the flashers were in hiding to get warm, lol. Good modelling. Keep up your good work. Thank you for letting us see your great handiwork. 🎉🎉
Hi Allan, Well my Lord you have certainly been to town on this area and it looks so much better than what was there before should provide some nice camera angles and scenes so well done as for the snow we have had none here that settled so far but wind and rain yes. Keep up the good work and will wait to see any more added and one last thought with your Freightliner hoppers parked there a fence would be a good idea maybe. Cheers Robert.
Yes Robert i have thought about a fence .it may get done over time with all the other detail things . Just add bits over time as and when. So big thank you for watching Robert.
Looking really good that Lord Al.. Look even better as you develope the greenery a bit more in the future. Really interesting to see the sort of kits available for modellers these days..great episode, cheers Chris
Hi ya Lord Al. I remember not too long ago you were considering put a submarine pen in that GBRF area. Lol. Allan never, never apologize for what you do on YOUR layout. Speaking of snow…. I had snow falling in my neighborhood a couple of weeks back. It’s been a very unusual winter here in So Cal. Back to the GBRF area. The finished article looks great. Just as long as the flashers drop by once in a while, I’m happy. I’m a simple man. Lol. Thanks for the update. See ya next time.
Thank you so much Norman...I am being told to have a grand opening so any think could turn up . Just have to come with a few ideas for the girls and other stuff. So i have to find the music to inspire me now. LOL.
Hi Allan otherwise known as Lord of the Manor 😅 great update it looks excellent. Anyway you can have as many tmd areas as you want it's your railway atb Andy
Thank you so much Gemma . It did not take to long to be honest about 10 hours all in . All done this week couple hours a day . Pretty simple lay out to do .
hi lord al....liking what you have done lately...would like to have those buildings myself but trying to not make my layout to modern looking as it is surpose to be in the sixties/seventies..
Thanks for watching but Rule 1 it`s your layout do what you think would suit. You could go for the moderation look. After all then when it all started in the 70s.
Hi Allan, I also agree with you that less is good. Hopefully, the people who were working in the docks have been able to find work elsewhere, rather than have to spend soul-destroying time in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance and thirty-five hours a week demonstrating what they are doing to look for a job. The high-vis gents look quite busy, and I dare say they will be able to pop into the office for a nice hot drink during their tea break and be able to eat their lunch. Perhaps they can buy some hot-backed potatoes with baked beans, or beef stew. I am also glad that the snow at Dragons Junction looks like it has cleared quickly, which is good, especially for people getting to work.
Thank you for the comments Alan.. All the dockers have gone for retraining for new jobs in the engine sheds around the layout .All with pay so no worries Alan.
Well, I can only saw is that, while I loved the old area, there is a definitive flow from left (looking in) and around behind you now. Less is more, but truth is, we don't have to understand why you did it. You did it, it looks awesome, and we can admire it. I think it looks brilliant. I just think the new area needed a grand opening. You know, media, big shots, ... and flashers in the background. lol Take care and all the best to you and the family!
Thank you Anthony.. Seams like a good idea on a grand opening ill give it some thought over the next few days. Just need a bit of music to inspire me now. LOL.
Hi AL,Like the idea then at about 9:40 min in I thought move your power tester forward 6in and put yur carpark near the street next to the green grass or not.
You could do as you say Mark but that means the load bank is on a curve and the locos don` t go through the barrier with out hitting the posts due to the overhang on the locos.. Thanks for watching. Mark. There will be updates on that area over time Mark.
Looking great Allan. I know you mentioned you were going to add more detail to the TMD. You may consider a walkway for staff & additional items such as oil drums & lighting etc. Do you have any plans for the Signal box to the left of the GBRF depot?
Yes things will be added over time as i get the parts and that`s a good idea on a signal box . Never thought about that. lol . So thank you for watching.
I understand that the steam engines do need a break. Wouldn't do to wear the motors out, I accidentally did that once to a Santa's Express Tank Engine. Luckily, the one I've got spare is still working perfectly. I usually utter the words Happy Modelling, but I'll let that go. You have the right to take those words out of my mouth. There's been a big gap in operations on the Cat Valley Steam Railway. I've bought a few models in the meantime: a Hornby Collector's Club E2 0-4-0 tank engine from 2009 (cost me £25, been tested and runs like a dream), a Hornby Severn Tunnel Junction Shunter's Truck with Glow-in-the-Dark wheels and a grey 7-plank Sparton Coal Open Wagon (complete with a coal load). Top that if you can. Happy modelling. I've also bought Bertie the Bus from the Tootally Thomas site (£20).
Thank you for your lovely comments Kelly .And no i can not match your Glow in the dark wheels . That`s one up for you Kelly. And by the sounds of things you got some great bargains.. i think you need a Engine shed for your lovely locos.
Morning Allan well what can I say other that brilliant looks fantastic You mentioned that rhuddlyn model shop does 3d printed Do they make stuff to order do you no ? Take care matey Sion
Afternoon Sion.. As for the 3d printing check on his E-BAY account . As for making things to order you would have to ring him.. there closed on Mondays. So big thank you for watching Sion.
Less is more, more or less Allan. I always say the the more you've got, the less you need but you did not need another TMD that's for certain, but it does look good. You're getting more or less like Susannah, changing something nearly every week. David.
Thank you for the Comments David . But the old docks was getting out of date . So a revamp was needed and i needed a GBRF depot . i could not put GBRF in with EWS could i . Plus i liked the new power testing Facility. so i think it all worked out for the best t. Am sure there`s plenty of details to add yet and just wait and see what Susannah been up to..She`s on a rebuild as well. LOL..
@@dragon-junction-MK2 I know how it goes Allan, I'm surprised you haven't built an all weather bridge over to that new shed you put in. Susannah's layout will never be the same two videos in a row. I love what she does. I think we will see everybody's locos using that power testing facility, GBRF won't miss out on the income from testing other operators locos for them.
Yep, that flows nicely, an uninterrupted view and economic. I grew up in the smoke and appreciated a bit of sparsity when I saw it. When you're happy all the nic-nacs are done, a bit of ribbon, a pair of scissors and a can of beer would do the trick...Andy (oh, and some strippers)
Well thank you Andy.. The guys are telling to do a grand opening. So ill have to dust off the girls ready for the fun.. Just have to think how to do it now..LOL.
