I think both Escalade generations look great. Even though the '21 models is a major improvement in many ways, you can't go wrong if you still want to get the '20 model as well.
Front Grill is gonna be even more pain to clean as it’s already painful to clean the 2018 grill. I prefer 2020 front little better. 2021 looks like an oversized XT5
Nice comparison. Still prefer the front end of my 2016 Escalade than the 2021 model. Just swap out my 2016 interior with the new model and it would be perfect imo.
Several years from now, the fourth generation Escalade will still look good coming down the road. I still like the third generation especially the Premium Luxury and Platinum with the fix rear dual exhausts.
@johnls39 Agreed. The stacked headlights are what made the Escalade unique and stand out. The 2021 headlights look too simple. They should had at least made the LED DRLs on the new model extend to the headlights to make up for the stale headlights.
@@DavidJ245 I'm glad that these Escalades are very reliable and durable as well if you choose to keep them till the wheels fall off. I've seen some high mileage models w/ over 200K on the second and third generation models.
Rather pay 2015 prices than 2022 prices. (40k vs 100k) Same engine however the trans in the older version is exceptional if you get lucky lol. That 8 speed was a joke for most people then. I have an 11' EXT Escalade truck with the 6 speed. The best. Same engine as the 2 stated above. Never selling that one. Love my 15 though. I got a good transmission in it!
I will say the 2020 Cadillac Escalade looks nice and seems like a good vehicle. But the new 2021 model definitely looks like a huge improvement and I love the styling as well.
We are ordering our 2021 soon. But I’ll tell you, it’s hard to ignore the $20K off of new 2020 models that you are starting to see. Just wish the 2020 interior didn’t look so dated....
The 2020 still looks awesome, I have a 2019 and imo I’d wait for more rebates till at least next year and then buy the 2021. Another thing I don’t like about the 21 version is the side profile of the truck looks BASIC and it did not separate itself from the GMC and Chevy making it IDENTICAL from the sides.
If you lease, you'll get a deal on the 2020. If you're a buyer, you're keeping the SUV for 7+ years - best go w/ a 2021 as this model year will remain extra-fresh for years to come.
Elegant video mason and drew, as usual! Thanks guys! That’s being said...Cadillac depreciates hugely in couple of months after purchasing a new Escalade, for example... Equity difference is a matter of concern as we are talking of depreciation in 40,000 for the Escalade 2019 when it was purchased in 92,000 back in 2019.... When trading in, count for such huge equity!
Love this comparison especially since the reveal of the 2021 so many people claim that 2020 exterior design is so much better. This really exposes the truth which is the 2021 is a huge upgrade over the outgoing model Escalade. The improvements are clear as day.
Jonathan Losito I love all the new bells and whistles on the 2021, just hate what they did to the front end. As for picking from either 2, I’ll go with the 2021 for the improved interior technology and full roof sunroof. Betcha that interior looks sexy during daytime driving.
The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and the Cadillac Escalade account for 50% of all large SUV sales in the US. GM makes 340,000 of them every year and exports about 80,000 to 31 countries. They’re made in GM’s plant in Arlington, Texas, which is said to be the most profitable assembly plant in the world. We estimate they generate $20 billion in revenue for GM and about $4 billion in profits. Autoline Daily.
So sad that we lose corporate heritageous jewel head lamps in the front. I wish we could keep those from old one with 2021 interior combined. That would've been awesome. I still love 2020's stand-out get out of my way type of old front.. 😥
Thank you 🙏.. very well made and highly informative comparison. I have decided on a 2021 Escalade over the nearly $16K discount on the 2020 which the dealership was offering me.
Like the last video great coverage full description of the options available, still can’t wait for my towns dealership to get them in to test drive so I can put in my order, thanks again guys Great job!!!
I’ve loved every generation of the Escalade...this new one...not love at first sight. I’m sure it will grow on me but for now the 2020 looks way better in my opinion.
Wish GM would have upgraded the engine. 450 hp & 500 torque at least or 500 hp and 550 torque. Price is too ridiculous for the absence of mega power like the European SUVs. That said, the interior of the 2021 has stolen my heart.
Personally I like my Escalade I have now the 2020 I play RU-vid everything on my phone shows on screen I have Apple TV inside it’s comfortable the 2021 is jus up to preference what you prefer it’s nice real nice jus up to you
On the 2021 is there a handle to open the trunk manually? It is an important question, as when the temperature drops real low the computer cuts off the auto power for the trunk.
what is the bumpy road / interior noise like? I like the older one style a bit better, Escalades should be all about Bling! ahaha both are awesome, the old one still have a bit of work to win me over, from an appearance point of view
The down side is the carryover power in the 2021. 420 hp 460 torque versus Navigator's 450 hp 510 torque. 2022 Escalade will have the twin turbo in its highest performance tune, the all-new 4.2L V8 delivers 550 horsepower @ 5,700 rpm and 627 lb-ft of torque @ 3,200 rpm. It will eat Navigators for lunch.
It really is ashame, seeing that beautiful new exterior, slightly hurt by that poorly place afterthought of a front amber side marker. I mean look at how nicely it was integrated into the 2020 last gen model, why couldn't they figure something out like that for the new one. It totally interrupts the flow of design Small detail but for that much money, worth pointing out
So the exterior is only changes in design but the interior is more luxurious and the electronics are updated plus it has a BMW style gear shift. Same engine and drive line! $ Twenty thousand difference ????
Finally GM is stepping their interiors up. The Suburban/Yukon/Escalde interior was so outdated. They had they gear lever on the steering wheel compared to its competitors with a fancy electronic gear shift. The one on the steering wheel feels so clunky and outdated. Seriously whens the last time you've seen that on a car ?? They were way behind.
I have been saying that these Escalades never had enough legroom for 12 years. Now they add the proper legroom at an unaffordable price. Even the Tahoe is 70k, but our tax dollars have no problem paying for expensive Tahoe police vehicles.
