I picked up the very same 1500 lb swivel jack from Harbor Freight about a month ago for $39.00. Works great.

Hey JD, if you move the jack to the passenger side. When you crank the jack all the way up the handle will hold itself up when you flip the jack up for towing.

Really like these upgrade videos on the classic Ford and this trailer from the standpoint of what you can do to customize something . if the Etrack is slippery just put a little sanded paint on them I think it would probably look better then the glossy anyway

I have a SureTrac 5 by 10 trailer. I added 1 by wooden sides and a 2 by 10 front that helps when I carry mulch or tree limbs. I used 8 d-rings around the sides. I cut the e-tracks in one foot sections and put three on each side and two in the front. I do have one of the wheels on the tongue . I picked up most everything from Northern Tool in Nashville TN. I should have painted or stained my floor when I purchased it six years ago. Probably need to replace the floor next year. The back gate has built in spring assistant and comes off easily. It is a solid trailer. I don’t see many of these trailers around. I looked at the Karavan trailers at Home Depot, but didn’t care for the sides. Six years ago the price was just over $1000. I love this series.

I have a 7x12 landscapers style that I bought from Home Depot at least 18 yrs ago. The very first thing I did was put garage door springs to make the rear ramp/gate because that thing is heavy. I rewired it last summer and switched all lights to led. I’m going to re-deck it this summer, I like how you stained this. Luckily I will be able to get the entire board stained before putting them on.

Love the upgrades. Please cut the trailer jack mounting bolts shorter. I see them sticking out and my shins already hurt lol. Nicely done!

I just ordered the led lights. I bought a used trailer that had the light broken. I see one tire is leaning I might have to replace the wheel hub hopefully not the axel. I have two birds that popped up at the neck might add a strip of flat bay to hold them all down since the boards might have shrank.

Very Nice upgrades. I instal a small electric winch on my trailer because I tow golf carts also paint the floor adding sand in the paint and now have a great grip when its wet. This karavan small trailer its one of my best trailer I have

The trailer looks a lot better. You might think about putting some skid tape in between the E-track. on the wood just to keep it from being too slick.

You know what... I blame you for this........ Now I really want one of these little trailers. lol. Etrack is super useful for so many different things. I have it mounted in a shed. I'm glad you went with a rotatable trailer jack. You could add a large breeze clamp and use the left over tail to hold the crank handle. Its a bit janky, but may work. I wish the 4-way trailer plug would just disappear and everything was 7-way. Its a way stronger and more reliable connector. I hope you do something with the suspension. I don't know what, but something interesting. Fancy wheels and tires would be neat to see as well. Thanks for the video..... (and making me want another trailer lol).

I have rear scissor jacks on my 6 x 12 and I mounted them just a couple inches behind the rear axle. They work great when unloading without the coupler attached. I think all the way at the back would create a ground clearance issue. What type of black stain did you use? I think it would be cool to add some off-road lighting for unloading at night. I have some 4” square off-road lights on mine wired to a small battery in the front toolbox. There is a solar battery maintainer on it.

Looking better than I had thought. Will a 60” mower deck lawn tractor fit on that trailer? What’s the payload capacity? I may need to get one. It doesn’t look big enough to fit a Gator or Polaris side by side however.

I'm not sure. I plan on loading up both my 60" deck Zero Turns to see how they fit. I'm nearly 100% sure they each will barely fit but only with the side rails down. Which means it wouldn't be practical because the side rails need to be up hold the back ramp up.

The E-Track is going to fill with dirt or bulk mulch, the D rings make sense. I wouldn't bother with a toolbox, your tow vehicles have one, (except for the Cub Cadet).

On my little 5 x 10 TS trailer i added a hand winch that is worm drive so the handle swings horizontally and doesnt hit the frame. I use it to pull up dead golf carts or lawn tractors.

I ordered the led lights from this video I’m having an issue with the boards popping up in the front might try to find a strapping system to put in the front to strap down motor cycles and quads. My ask is can you upgrade the tire size?

Have you thought about putting an electric wench on the front bar just in case the razor or tracker you have towed broke down and now you can still get it on the trailer again? (Run on sentence power activated)😂

That is my biggest gripe about my Karavan is the taillights absolutely are dismal.

A buddy of mine, he did something with my axle. To give me 2 or 3 more inches higher. Because it wasn't writing level with my vehicle so he did something. I don't know if you know exactly what I'm talking about. Maybe you do, but I think that would be something good too. To do to this Trailer, please comment back and let me know. I still have the trailer. It's been working good for me for at least 7 years. And i'm still going strong with it

Probably flipped thr leaf springs from under slung to over slung

What JD said. Putting g the leaf springs on top of the axle can gain 3 or so inches of height increase. The down fall is it can make the ramp gate angle steep, causing a mower deck to snag when you load.

Yep. Though theives will generally just hook a smaller ball in and use the chains to secure it. Best option is a valt style lock

A four year old with a Crescent wrench could take your coupler off along with your hundreds of dollars worth of locks and steal your trailer. 😂

@@kevincarson7096 If you were going to leave it exposed enough for them to have that much time, it would be welded in addition to the bolts. With enough time, ANY security measure can be defeated.

@@jbuck9821 I actually stole my boat trailer that way. The coupler rusted out on the aluminum framed trailer and with a ratchet, I had the coupler and lock off in less than a minute. A minute later I had a replacement on and was ready to tow. No one has mentioned welding the coupler, and spending that much energy on locking without securing the coupler to the trailer seems silly.

A lot of unnecesary expense. I like the front jack and stabilizers and d rings. Handles and hitck change, poo poo.

My thought is you should have spent more up front buying a better built trailer instead spending more after buying a cheap big box store trailer.So you now have invested more in your cheap trailer than you could ever recover if you try to sell it...
