I just started using OPST products and could not be happier. I started with an OPST kit for my 13ft Meiser 450-750 grain rod. Casting this is a pure joy. I gave up on using mono as a running line until I tried OPST lazerline. So supple that it sails through the guides. Skagit head with different sink tips lets you fish all kinds of conditions. I'm now using a setup for my 5 weight Sage for trout. So much fun not worrying about back cast issues. One cast and I have the fly where I need it. Just plain fun. My accuracy needs some more work, but that is just practice and time on water. I have to tell you that understanding how to select the correct OPST parts and learning to cast are not easy. I was fortunate to have a friend who clued me in and its all good now. I think the OPST guys are so attune to using their systems they have some difficulties with explaining it on their web site to folks like me with too many questions. This is why I started with a kit. I think their products are great, but they are also as pricey as all the other manufacturers. As long as they stay focused on their strengths and not try to be all things to all flyfishers, they should do fine. Thanks to Big Y for putting this out. I love your stuff also.
