Once he signed onto a major label (I believe it was Warner Brothers), he immediately got a full band, a new style and just a completely new sound. The point of NSN was that it was low-grade pop/folk. That was the charm, then he turned into a cookie cutter, rent-a-singer.

In one of his interviews he said that if you didn't like the new style of music then it didn't bother him. He said that the style changes sometimes because it shows how he is growing.

Your comment is perfect. Back when he was solo and had his cheesy lyrics and Ukulele I liked his music. His new stuff is just disappointing compared to his old stuff. It's not that the songs are bad it's just not him and when he sings it you can tell he doesn't sing it from the heart like he did when he was younger and solo. Wasting talent honestly.
