► Hey, Adam here. In my previous video I covered the strange disappearance of Casey Hathaway, who managed to survive temperatures of up to -6 degrees Celsius for three days, and upon behind found stated that he spent time in the woods with a bear who looked after him.
Now, I’m sure you can imagine the speculation that this incident caused, and if you’ve read the comment section of that video a lot of people seem to be leaning in the Bigfoot direction. Now, I’m a person that doesn’t have a stake in the Bigfoot conversation at all, I’m not an advocate or an opponent. I’m a neutral party so it could make this quite interesting. And for those that are interested there will be a little update on Casey’s disappearance towards the end.
So, I did some background research on the term Bigfoot, Wikipedia states that the term first gained renown by a Wyandot chief who held that nickname in the 1830s simply because of the enormous size of his feet. This is actually true and here’s a brief quote from the Indianapolis Indiana Journal on the 25th of May 1833 that references this chief:
“[The adventurers] had not followed the trail far before they became satisfied that the [imprints] were conducted by Big Foot, a renowned chief of the Wyandot tribe, who derived his name from the immense size of his feet. His height considerably exceeded six feet, and his strength was represented as Herculean.”

Hey all, something completely different today but after reading the comments of the video I made on Casey Hathaway, I thought that there may be enough people who'd enjoy a break and a look at something different. We will be back to covering disappearances in the next video, and I already have a few in mind that I'd like to cover. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on Bigfoot in general and if you make it far enough, your thoughts on the Casey update aswell so please do share them

The first scientific description of a gorilla was in 1847, and some species (as we know them today) not discovered until late 1902. So calling them “gorilla” in the 1800’s America is unlikely. So “wild man” would be how they would best describe it.
@cauldhound

Something that's important to remember (hi, I'm a history nerd) is that newspapers back in the 1800s and earlier were just as affected by the inability to really fact check things as the people reading them. They could post whatever wild stories they wanted, because there would be no way to verify or disprove said stories. Entire tall tales of ships sinking that never existed, vicious monsters, disappearances, etc were all printed in that time. Often the papers printing these stories knew full well they were false, but they drew in readers and produced no repercussions, so much of the information you can find in papers regarding these things is wholly false. That being said, just to clarify, I'm not a disbeliever or believer of bigfoot. It's just something worth thinking about.

If you do some digging you can find that information yourself. I'm not a big non believer, I'm just a careful thinker with an awareness of history.

@mirandagoldstine8548
@mirandagoldstine8548 3 года назад
That means the creature would be taller than the average man at the time of the sighting. We’ve gotten taller thanks to improvement in nutrition. Of course there’s always the outlier throughout history. Abraham Lincoln was 6’4” at a time when the average height for men was 5’8” so to a person at the time a being or person who was around or taller than 6” would be a noticeable trait.

Patagonia means 'Land of the Big Feet' and apparently dates back to the mid-1500s when the Portuguese explorers arrived and encountered the Big Feet people who were a race of very tall wild humans, averaging 7 to 9 feet tall. They had very large feet and went barefoot but clothed themselves with furs. The Portuguese traded with them for a time but apparently they were almost extinct already and eventually they stopped coming around, maybe out of caution or maybe the last of them died. When the Portuguese asked the native (normal-sized) people about the Big Feet, the natives said the Big Feet were the original inhabitants of the land and used to be more numerous in times past, but it was difficult for them to survive since the climate had changed and the Big Feet needed a lot of food.

Great presentation Adam. Myself, I’ve done a lot of research into the Bigfoot phenomena, and it really depends on your interpretation of events. In the early cases people described what they witnessed expressively as they saw them in that era. Today there is overwhelming evidence that Sasquatch is a real phenomenon but for some reason is being covered up. There is only one person I can trust on this, and that is Steve on his RU-vid channel, howtohunt. There are other great sources like MountainBeast Mysteries, and Justin’s Channel is just as inspirational. Keep safe everyone.

I also wonder if Sasquatch is more of a supernatural entity rather than biological, otherwise you’d think we’d be coming across their remains or hunters getting one in the past 200 years. I am an avid hiker and I had a Bigfoot encounter. I am 99% certain they exist. I say this because I must acknowledge that there is a slight possibility that it was the largest man I've ever seen dressed in a very elaborate and expressive Hollywood grade costume. Not only did I see this being, I heard and felt it's footsteps as it strided away. I was close enough that we literally locked eyes just before it left. My adrenaline was through the roof. I have come to the conclusion that these beings are not of this world. I believe they travel here on literal vacation. Using modes of travel beyond our comprehension. Mayby even transdimentional. I'm not sure how I know, but they have no bad intentions. I work in physics and this is the first time I have stated this in public. The only person I ever told before this was my mother, out of fear of repercussions with my work.

Teddy Roosevelt was an unusual man by any standards. He was an avid hunter, conservationist, prolific writer, and he also created the very first national park in the US. What most people don't know is that he may have been among the very first mix martial artist. He boxed, wrestle, trained in Judo and Jiujitsu; he was also the holder of the very first US brown belt in Judo awarded to him by Yoshiaki (Yoshitsugu) Yamashita who not only introduced Judo to the US, but taught Judo at the US Naval Academy. Roosevelt was a man who did not tolerate fakes and would not hesitate to call them so to their face. That he would be so convinced of the veracity of Bauman's story to include it in his book is a testimony of how convincing Bauman was.

I'm definitely a Bigfoot believer, but I saw an interesting documentary where it was proven that bears can cause tracks that look like giant human footprints if they're walking in a certain way, so I'm a little more skeptical of accounts of just big footprints. Also, just an interesting sidenote: if a hog escapes its pen into the wild, it will begin growing fur and tusks within a year. So maybe Bigfoot is just a man who made a choice.

I'm Quileute Native. Grew up on our land in the PNW of WA state in the Olympics. We have the largest untouched rain forest in the inland US, called the Hoh River Rainforest. This area in particular is very VERY remote. Only one hwy in and out going to Clallam County and often get snowed in every year. Skookum is a Salish word, the Tlinglet, Chimikum and Inuit people (among more perhaps) inhabit from the top of California all the way up to Alaska on the coast. Our art (Haida), and even our clan names are specifically named after known animals, the Quileute are the wolf clan just like in Twilight unfortunately, but our sister tribe was the frog clan, etc etc. Our art extended to our lodge homes and totum poles, and we have many MANY animals depicted. But what none of us have...is a large hairy man at all...big feet or not. We only depicted real animals that we saw and shared our lands with. We have many MANY stories all of you can look at on our websites, we try hard to codify them all and have them available. We call them Raven Tales, in light of that our ancestors believed a Raven came to us all and shape-shifting us into the humans we are now. If more proof is needed...look up Mount Saint Helen's and research as much as you can about it. When it blew, it was massive enough to kill off an entire species of bird, and killed millions of other animals from mice to humans. The ash cloud from it, can still be seen from space floating in our atmosphere. It created a huge crator lake (now named that) and large lahars that dumped inp the columbia river. Many locals helped with clean up, but not one Sasquatch. Not one big foot, not one big hairy primate at all was ever found dead. Anyways....Sasquatch, Skookum, Quiklack, and other names of big wild men...exist only in our stories. Our ancestors, like now, liked a good story as much as you and I! And PS....my people were very tall. Chief Se'talile (Seattle) was over 6 ft. We lived off of the Sea. Salmon and other omega 3 fatty diets created a large difference than the plains natives everyone always pictures

Cheers mate, it's one of those topics that's quite frustrating because it would genuinely be amazing if they were here in the woods. As you say, it would be fantastic if it was provable without a shadow of a doubt. And yes! Man has this tendency to shoot first. I read an account of sailors coming across a creature that they couldn't identify and was very long... Their first inclination was to shoot it

He also was a conservationist in some ways. He moved a species of elk to the Olympic National Park and are now known as Roosevelt Elk. He encouraged what we now call "no clear cutting" in the logging industry and thought about banning old growth timber cutting. Unlike some may think, most hunters are conservationists. Many logging companies are conservationists as well.

If you've ever read "eaters of the dead", Jacko (or however you spell it) sounds 90% similar to how the creatures in that book were described, and it is considered to be a firsthand account from a long time ago. Worth looking in to if this stuff interests you.
@JS-ob4oh
@JS-ob4oh 2 года назад
Actually, that is incorrect. "Eater of the Dead" is a fictional work by Michael Crichton who based his work on 2 sources: the personal accounts of Ahmad ibn Fadlan from his travel and experience living with the Varangian (Vikings) in the 10th century and the story of Beowulf. Ibn Fadlan makes no mention of Grendel-like creatures in his written accounts.

I'm just stuck on you not knowing what terra firma was but apart from that, I found it really interesting hearing the descriptions of people from so long ago, describing incidents that people described in our time. Those whistles and rock-throwing are so very interesting. Didn't we as humans miss out so much by destroying the natives of the land because their ancestors carried so much valuable information from the past. I believe the native Americans about giants from the past, they obviously experienced these things creatures and knew how to avoid them or track them

I don't know if I believe in Big foot or not but this is what happened to me and my cousin. We live in Northern Michigan in the woods on a paved road. We have several lakes and streams in the area. Lots of wild life. One summer night at around 3:00 am. (both my cousin and I are night owls), My cousin walked out to the mailbox to post a letter and I was in the house. All the windows were open and also the front door. While she was walking back from the mailbox she and I heard a extremely loud, WOOOOOOOOOO! It seemed to get louder and stronger as it went. It lasted about 10 to 15 seconds. My cousin came in the house and said did you hear that? What was that?? I said I did hear it and had no idea what it could be. I have heard a lot of wild animals and can say emphatically that I have never heard that before or since. Big foot?

Been following this mystery for a few years now. If you heard many cases than you guys know that not all are completely similar right? We have people who have fallen from great heights, without the presence of a mountain or other high place in the vicinity. Than we have dead people who have no wounds or anything, found almost like they fell asleep no determined cause of death. Than we have cases were the remains are found, pieces of bones with some clothing for example. Than we have children lost than found who say bears watched over them. These cases although all mysterious have differences right? So that means that there are more people/things behind this. Lets start with people who fell from high above. How can you fall from so high without high ground? Lets get a bit silly but seriously, but i have no other explanation for this. - Aliens took him and than dumped his body from their ship, would explain why they fell from so high without mountains and so on. - Gravitational anomaly, like you know you hike around than bam you are pulled up and than fall to your death. ( We have strange vortexes in the USA thats where the idea came from ) Dead people without wounds no determined cause of death. Now this is a crazy one ( not that any of these are normal ) - There are countless legends of demons, monsters and the like that sucks literally your soul out. Djinn or for example the Hungarian Liderc and many more. They lead you away from civilization than torture you mentally to feed on your fear and despair. ( There are a few recorded phone calls that you can find where you hear the victims suffering, but i dont know if fake or real ) - The body found is not the original one, they took them somewhere and to stop the searching they put a ''clone'' or something like that down to confuse us. Would explain why they dont give the autopsy report out or just limited info. Remains are found many years later, no signs or predation. - Maybe they really got lost and just died because hypothermia and yeah searchers were not so good. I personally think this cant be the case. - Some kind of animal/creature took em deep underground and later dumped the remains outside. ( would explain why the dogs dont find the scent or they do but only in a limited radius ) - They got into a portal and well it ripped them apart, maybe an unstable one or they were on the '' other side '' killed there and later dumped back here. Folded clothing for me looks almost like a ritual thing. Kids kidnapped by bears or lost but a bear took care of them. - Sasquatch or some other human like creature that we still know nothing about. They have empathy and a verry strong one, they feel your emotional state from miles away. You know female Squatch mother instincts scenario. My theory is that if they exist thats why they hate electronics, smashed phones and cameras that are found you know. Why now so many cases and they keep increasing ? Well maybe some weird thing is happening that we know nothing about. Maybe humans are pushing them out of their territory or all the electronics that we build near/in nature is driving them mad. Are we the bad ones here and they are just defending their turf or maybe some yes but others are evil? What do you think guys?

"Jacko's" description sounds more like a chimpanzee to me.. And likely, not having the internet at that time, (as you previously state) there's a possibility that the people who captured him had 1, Never actually seen a chimp, 2, didn't know what a chimp looked like or, 3,what a chimp even was.. He could've been brought in from his indigenous country by ship, then attempting transport by train to a destination as a live animal for a personal collection, zoo or a circus then escaped or was released by the captors of they were unfamiliar with their tool usage, intelligence and especially strength and ferocity (when need be). He was described as being 4"tall.. Just seems like a chimpanzee could be the species of Jacko, to be.
@valerielander2310
@valerielander2310 3 года назад
My thinking too. This description varies in size and weight from the previous sightings. I don't recall what year he said this happened, but sideshows/freak shows were a huge attraction during Victorian times. A chimp could easily have been passed off to audiences as "the missing link" or some such thing.

@@josephjohn7209 lol I'm glad you agree 😊 I agree with your statement that there's no way a small group of men could capture a Bigfoot if they are as large as eyewitnesses claim, especially back in the late 19th century. Even a juvenile would be entirely too much for any size group of humans to successfully capture.. Not to mention, the mother or another older/larger family member would likely be close at hand to protect the juvie from exactly this situation. And that's all BEFORE having to figure out a way to contain and transport, then remove from said transport and transferring to a live animal containment facility.. Aye ya yayyy! Sounds like a logistics nightmare in itself, doesn't it lol 😂
