Your catch beats my last one. An old damaged plastic bucket caught in Cockle Creek & landed after a brief struggle. The Lake was not a comfortable place to be last Friday in my kayak. Whitecaps, strong wind & chop. Waves up to 250cm. I retreated to the Creek fairly quickly & could not make it to Speers Point Jetty under those conditions. The way I see it the worst must surely be behind me now. The rudder control has been replaced & works. Let the good times & catches come. I must say that even though it was a tough session last Friday I still enjoyed it. Congratulations on your first Jewfish & your biggest catch to date.

Officially jealous, I have been chasing jew on bait and occasionally lures for 2 and 1/2 years, best I have got is a good run and a spat bait. Well done.

I’ve caught probably 30 tailor on the lake in a couple of sessions on my double clutch, never thought someone could catch a new on one! Been chasing them for so long and am trying to get one tomorrow.

I would suggest an ebay special kayak incase you don't like kayak fishing. Also bcf sell soft roof racks aswell

I have a couple of Double Clutch lures in Kawamutu colour, which are great for Tailor and Bream. Loved the Jewfish catch, well done.

Loving the Videos mate. We not long bought an onsite van at Wangi a few months back and looking at a move next year. Haven't had a real lot of luck yet, few high 40's flattys and baby Snapper, the odd flounder. Great content on the local area mate. Love em, keep em coming! 👍

Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed. I havnt spent the time to learn my sounder. I mainly use it for depth. I just pick a spot and try it out. Sometimes word of mouth drives me to a location.

Iy u lift a big flattie up to the top of the water like that you will lose him....best to keep your rod low

Just moved to Newcastle looking to put my kayak in. Where a good spot. Been out 5 times and have had no luck using 5 inch plastics. Any advice apprehiated

Newcastle is blessed with some great fishing spots. Google Carrington Boat ramp. That is a very easy place to launch from and the harbour has always been good to me. Stockton Bridge has been fishing well Lake Macquarie is rich in fish with plenty of spots to try out. I'm slowly making my way through lake Macquarie trying to find the good spots.

@@benabbey5212 I have had more luck in that creek then the harbour. Daiwa double clutch has caught alot of flathead in there. If you head up to the bridge near the car dealership that's a good spot to try. Alot of people do really well in Lake Mac, I am not one of them haha.

2500 td sol III, 3-6kg daiwa TD Zero 12lb braid and 12lb leader I believe was used that day.

Is it just me or are you retrieving too fast for flatties? 🤔🤷‍♂️ I tend to go half that pace. Great jewie....obviously he thought the pace was perfect! 😁

That pace has worked for me. 80cm flathead and that jewie. I do usually change the pace up if it's not working on that day.
