I know this is an old vid, but just a heads up, trade is worth it. 5 carts and keep hitting the caravan research. Because it's a percentage increase, it doesn't take long to blink them across the map. If you pull 100 gold per trip with 5 carts, it's 500 gold per second.
Also at above 32k HP, things will be automatically deleted, as the HP overflows to become -1, which is assigned by game engine to be dead unit. Chemistry has no effect on this. It's the Furor Celtica.
It is not how it is. The "max hp" number is assigned to be 2 bytes size (short in C/C++ langs). Such number can represetn any value between -32768 to 32767 if i remember correctly. if number goes beyond 32k, it overflows to minus hp. If unit has less hp then 0 in engine (minus) it dies. HOWEVER current hp, not max hp is assigned to diffrent data type (so called float) and this is more scientific type number that can go to very large numbers (bilions and beyond). That is why you can create unit with 32k hp or less, and after upgrade it beyond 32k hp, but you cannot create unit beyond 32k hp because max hp becomes minus value.
@Fab Elger First, it doesn't overflow to -1. It overflow to some minus number but mostly not -1. For example castle after x time architecture is 32294/32294 HP. if you research achitecture one more time you will see on castle (userpatch) 35523hp/-30013 hp. This is moment you can't create any new castle because new castle will instantly self destruct because max hp of castles is minus, however, existing castle you builded already can still be upgraded. If you go one more architecture furthermore, you end up with 32523 max hp, what allows to create new castles again, however castle you already builded will have 39075hp/32523 hp (more then max hp). So 1st, it doesn't overflow to -1hp, 2nd it doesn't kill existing units, existing units can go beyond limit, 3rd it only kills units you are about to create when max hp is some minus number.
TaToH has such an incredible game knowledge. He might not be the best in 1v1 arabia, but knows what is the best strategy in every not well known situation... His game sense is much better then from Biper...
Hello T90, it's nice to see you using this Siege Engineers approach. But did you know, at exactly 32 Siege Engineers, zero chemistry, Siege Onagers and Heavy Scorpions glitch out and one shot everything, regardless of amour or HP (yes, 1 Heavy Scorpion can 1 shot Siege Rams and Castles with Masonry, Architecture, Hoarding, or even 512 pierce armour villager; and 1 Siege Onager shot can kill my own 10k HP Siege Onagers). Heavy Scorpion is especially OP with this strat, as they pierce everything, but does no harm to your own units hence essentially invincible against all melee units, and can shoot to the border of the map. One problem is this glitch is not consistent for above 32 Siege Engineers. So upgrade with caution, as this glitch doesn't work at 255 Siege Engineers (I tested this ...)
I tested this in a real human game against both Paladin and Heavy Cavalry Archers. My Heavy Scorpions had 34 Siege Engineers and only 3 Chemistry, and shouldn't be able to kill >200 HP Paladins or Cavalry Archers with 48 pierce armour. Yet, they one shot everything. I originally thought that the number of Siege Engineers required is from 60 to 66. But it seems like 32 is the correct minimum number.
units die when built, keeps making them. has scorpions that don't die and have multiple upgrades that increase damage to buildings by 20% does not attack even with health increases to buildings they would mostly be oneshot.
Exactly. That is why Tatoh mentioned to stop upgrading when u chop 100 per swing. The vills automatically go back to drop off the wood after a tree is chopped down. So anything over 100 is pointless.
"When I create units they die! Let's continue making more and stop researching the upgrade that'll make their damage actually able to overcome their limited number"
I mean, i feel the same way. I understand watching and playing are completely different, but i was saying things that he should do and then after a few minutes he would do the thing i said and say he was late doing it or that he shouldve done it earlier. I know i couldnt execute it even 0.25% as well as him, just makes me feel good that i had the thought to do it in the first place lol.
That's Fialek's staged demonstration of the attack strength. I thought you were highlighting the glitch that happened around the same time: [ SPOILERS, obviously ] 40:05 this much hp ... 40:40 it's actually broken. Negative max hp ... 47:15 "this is really bad, cancel chemistries!" ( exactly the OPPOSITE of what one should do in that situation. -.- )
I did the calcs for optimum wood gathering. If you ignore the wood cost of DB axe, you need a ratio of 1:1, plus an extra 10 vills. But if you count DB axe as 3x the resource cost of vills, you need a ratio of 1:2 (2 vills) plus an extra 16 vills.
Late comment, but as soon as he started defending against tatoh with his SO and his castle's hp went from 100k to 60k in the span of a few seconds due to his own splash, I KNEW he was gonna snipe his own king. I also forgot about the video's title, somehow.
One thing to remember in a game mode like this. No matter how god like you feel because your units are so much more OP than normal...everyone else is just as godlike.
Wouldn't it be better if u deleted TC in fuedal....instead of building vills, you can use food to get a few double bit axes. Then make market, rebuild TC. Tatoh proved this in a Forest Nothing you casted recently when his score was like 5x higher than viper, daut, and mbl(?). That is what he did
why don't you research guilds? you have almost unlimited wood, so you don't care about the price but you must think about the time lost shift+clicking a thousand times. there is no big difference between 14 gold and 17 gold but it's something
the 256x mod is about adding up all those little differences. Most upgrades only make small differences. 140,000,000,000 is a lot less than 170,000,000,000. Time being the main thingie. It's the same with aztecs and relics in regular games. The longer the game takes, the more important such small differences are.
Watching this almost three years later and the latest forest nothing 256....... this is cute.... NO ONE thought of a vil army even though I’m pretty sure they got loom 256 automatically. The vil stats were crazy and no one put two and two together lol. Still fun to watch though lol
Doesnt conscription speed up upgrade research speed in x256? I remember playing x256 tech and maxing our conscriptions, and then I can just spam an upgrade on 1 building
T90 you wasted a lot of food. As soon as the vils chop trees imediately you can stop. The most important is to researce conscription about 15 times so units and techs will be created instantly. you only need one stable, university and so on
Conscription only effects castles, barracks, stables and ranges. So for his strategy it would only help to get the siege HP faster and not the university techs
you know what would be a funny round, next 256x mod, just upgrade the buildings to max HP possible, then build so many houses that your opponents cant move or do anything xD or markets would probably be better choice since they are larger.
My eyes and brain hurts when seeing you play, oh my god, thought you've seen or casted a lot of these games!! Wayyyyy too many food wasted in double bit axe after vils can instantly take home a tree, also you need to check when vils reach just over one hundred in capacity to avoid waste in researching wheel barrow, ahhh and not getting guilds before selling, my god, it huurts watching u play!!
Hey T90, you want to know the best strategy? as indian you can get more gold income with castle technology. if you use it often enough, trade carts give you -6............... gold. thats infinite. you can buy what ever you want. And in the castle you can speed up your technologies in unit buildings as well. so you can get really fast some thousands of cavalry hp.
You did not kill your own castle! It was destroyed by the cataphracts, but you couldn't see it burning, because it would have to have negative life points to burn because it's max HP had an integer overflow and were negative. So you didn't see it was almost down, when you looked just before it got destroyed. If you look close enough, it only had 3k HP when you clicked last. Then the 3 catas destroyed it and killed your king almost instant because of their speed. There were no onager shots near it just before you died, it really had been the cataphracts.
@@godmode8687 I think this is only true, when they are built. If a building already exists and its max HP are raised to a negative amount, it's not automatically destroyed. But the damage animation is bugged out, so no flames.
@@its_w4yne Yep, exactly the same thing happened to the SOs. The ones that already existed didn't die when their HP went negative, but the new ones were DOA.
Don't u record the ingame data? Why are u never showing some parts from that? Like showing how Tatoh did at the start.... or show us how u really died... Honestly, pls show things like that! :/
You should have waited and researched Fletching 256 times then went Castle. Research Bracer 256 times then went Imp. Research Bodkin 256 times with 256 Town watch and 256 Castle tech to improve Building LOS for outposts then just spam archer at base and hit other side of map.
I think that based on observation, one thing that might be worth trying is to actually not go for farms at all, and instead, rely 100% on wood to get everything else at the start of the game, where the prices are still affordable.
Watching through all these old 256 games and it's crazy how they never thought of selling all the early gold to get a bunch of food real quick for axe upgrades. Like I'm such a worse player but it's the first thing I thought of
One of the castles u tryed to build doesnt go up for the same reason. Its because if u start building the first milliseconds dont achive 1%. So buildings or units have 0% in first second --> died.
Should have gotten wheelbarrow, destroyed TC, made lumber, gotten the upgrades, done so until you ran out of food, destroy lumber, make market, sell wood and buy food, and made lumber to get more upgrades. Or should've just played the civ that gets free lumber upgrades and built lumber instead of farm, and replace TC with market or wait until there was room for market.
