This is probably the biggest platform of FREE English Learning Content on the internet. What is more, this site has some amazing free activities that many teachers and students don't know. In this video, I show you some of the best features on Breaking News English. This is an ideal video for both teachers and students because I show you some of the best free learning activities that you can find on the internet.
For example, on this website, there are dictation activities that are really interesting to do. You listen to a sentence and then you have to write in the word to complete the sentence, but you don't have to write the word in order. So it's a great listening activity and the fact that it's completely free and that you've got audio and writing and of course, you can get feedback on your performance. There's also a really interesting dictogloss type activity, where you listen to the whole of the text and then you try to rebuild the text word by word by writing in the words. This is ideal for vocabulary development, but it's also great for listening. It's great for syntax, it is great for building your vocabulary. Breaking News English has got many many really interesting activities but the sad thing is most teachers and students don't realise how many interesting activities there are on the site. In this video, I'm going to show you just how varied the website is and how useful it can be to use. It's particularly good if you're looking for listening grammar, vocabulary and reading content. And there are lots of different accents and lots of different opportunities to listen to read, to do grammar exercise to extend your vocabulary, etc. All of the content is free. There are no tricks on breaking news English, breaking news, English makes its money from the advertising so they do not ask you to pay. It is one of the biggest and most complete free video websites on the internet with content that we can make use of. I've been using this content for many, many years. And I've done many training sessions using this content. And I'm so surprised how few teachers realise just how many great activity types there are on the website.
