Heb ze op de IAA allemaal (behalve renault) van dichtbij mogen bekijken en in kunnen zitten. Die Mercedes met zn 4 treden is echt bizar hoog, daar wil je niet elke dag vaker in en uit stappen. De Iveco viel me niet tegen overigens, gezien zijn voorganger.... Maar de XG+ blijf toch wel de ruimte koning, wat een hut is dat.

I agree. This reporter is from Truckstar, a magazine always very fond of DAF as well. Sure, they're spaceous but their reliability used to a big issue for fleet owners in the past. I've no idea what it's like nowadays as I've stopped reading Truckstar well over a decade ago.
In European trucks, little more space should be for two persons for sleeping together, both single bed as well as double bed.And little more space for storage above the window side.Cabin should be little more backward for little space for bed.
Er zijn geen slechte auto's meer, alleen voorkeuren, heb de stoelen en stuurpositie van iveco altijd het fijnst gevonden, de oude stralis hi way versie, maar voor de rest gewoon kwestie van wennen met andere merken. Alleen raar dat het iveco bovenbed geen trapje meer heeft, dat had de Hi-Way juist wel. Daar heeft renault slim het trappetje onder het bed gemonteerd, die ook makkelijk eraf te halen is voor gebruik. Renault heeft nu ook zijn stuurverstelling verbeterd, waardoor je nu wel goed en lekker kan zitten, vorige model had dat weer niet. Man, altijd prima auto geweest, Mits de opties er niet vanaf gehaald worden. Daf, ja, blijf het een storing auto vinden, rijd en zit voor de rest prima Scania, ja, goeie auto, alleen het standaard plaatje is minder. Volvo, zelfde als scania, maar idd krap gevoel in zitpositie. Mercedes, rijd fijn, zit prima, alleen die hoge instap is niks. Elk merk zn plus en minpuntjes, maar geen onduigelijke auto's
Jammer dat ze met z’n 2en presenteren.. het lijkt nou net op slecht acteren ipv vertellen over de auto’s. Myrthe deed het vorig jaar super in d’r eentje! Verder goeie video met goede info🤙🏻
Am driveing MAN but that DAF cabine looks huge. Swing seats best adjustable bed whats most important for driver, thumbs up for that. Definitly most compleated truck in last 6-7 years. Competition dont even come close to DAF cabine.
Admir I'll tell u why its crap, it's built on the cheap ,DAF went on about 20,000 driver's had input into it , well they must all have been bald because DAF didn't see fit to put a mirror inside for combing there hair , open the door of any premium truck and u will have space at the side of the seats and flat floors around the seat ,Volvo even has the fire extinguisher at the side there's that much space, open the door of the DAF , The wheel arch literally comes up the side of the seat ,you can't even put your gloves there,you can't get at the remote control for the suspension without opening the door , Then the wheel arch is shaped up into the door ,this in turn stops the window going all the way down ,it reminds you of a FM Volvo when u open the door ,But the FM is better designed even though its a low cab ,That DAF is unbelievably bad for a new design,then there's the side locker ,you close a Volvo once ,you need to give the DAF an almighty slam or you will never get it to lock , The steering wheel controls would drive u mad ,Touch the buttons and u lose everything on the dash u have no fuel gauge the guages move about there in one position the next time they r somewhere else ,then every time u switch it off u need to go into the settings to reset the spot lights before u move or they won't work ,the lorry is unbelievably bad how it ever won truck of the year I don't know ,I could go on and on its that bad but I don't have time ,DAF aren't the only one that don't have a design team, Volvo r not much better, people that grew up on Volvo can literally drive any Volvo model , everything is the same switches ,remotes, guages ,gear change ,that's the way it was ,until stuiped Volvo changes it with the version 5 ,it's completely different even the phone and volume switches on the steering wheel have changes sides ,it's a driver's nightmare , probably the s Scania is the most driver friendly truck apart from the rubbish front suspension and rubbish cab suspension, Iam only a 60 year old driver but DAF have made big mistakes with the xg .🇬🇧♥️🇺🇦
@Jason that's why Freightliner and Western Star use Detroit Engine, not Mercy even they one big Daimler group..., but Volvo VNL, VHX etc, stil using their engine like in EU.
@@simonrobert9858 Detroit DD 13, DD15, DD16 are basically Actros engines, just adjusted for North America. he 12-speed auto transmissions, too. Detroit Diesel is ownd by Daimler... DD13 is a Mercedes OM 471 engine, DD 15 a OM 472, and DD 16 are OM 473 engines. Navistar S13 engine is the new Scania powertrain. Navistar and Scania are both owend by VW.

In sweden and finland that have maximum length of 24 meter that us viable. But in continental Europe that have only 18 meter, that loses way to much cargo

Interesting field this year, I am not surprised that DAF won just especially not just technology features but fit n finish. Even though Ford was newer model I still think it’s lagging. It would interesting to note most expensive to least expensive truck.
James have u seen the DAF demo , the paint work is terribly finished ,the back on the side deflector are not painted but covered in overspray,the wheel arch comes up the side of the driver's seat this stops the window going right down,if u ask me someone paid to win this
@@sopissedoff sorry I haven’t seen paint work on the demo which I can understand what was your choice truck that should have won? Few years ago here in Australia MF had their brand new Ideal combine, their demo at very best field day show had two broken plastic panels on display, I was certainly not impressed n ask who would invest in combine especially cost of then trade in later with easily broken plastic panels? Manufacturers pay attention to your products.
James I think we can rule out the Iveco and the ford,I have been in either I'd imagine they r not top end , the Merc is really showing its age and needs a cab , the Volvo is very cramped and needs a cab, I can guarantee if u had that DAF after 2 days u would burn it ,the seats were great and the adjustable bed was fantastic and the extra space was great but the overall truck is not the finished thing ,that really leaves the Scania in nearly all areas it perfect ,apart from the front suspension it would break your back if u get the wrong spring set up , just my 60 years worth of thoughts
@@sopissedoff I always like Scania, definitely room for improvement but so many fellas n tanker driver I know love their truck with V8 plus servicing time n driving up hills.
@@jamieshields9521 I think it's 500 time with fuel prices ,that 500 Scania engine is possible the best straight 6 ever made , definitely room for suspension improvements ,The V8 leather seat would cut the hole off you ,Scania don't know what foam is ,from what I can remember the Scania doesn't calculate 2 week drive time so definitely room for improvement,oh well not long now until I hang my gloves up for good 🇬🇧♥️🇺🇦
Magnetron....hmm...beetje zichzelf respecterende chauffeur/chauffeuse gaat toch naar een echt restaurant. Om ook langs de weg alles in stand te houden en van elkaar aan de stamtafel informatie in te winnen. Wel zo gezellig. Jammer is wel dat ik niet zie dat cabines meegroeien met de generaties mensen die al langer worden. Met veel jongens rond de 2 meter lengte zie ik veel onjuiste stoelen en zithoudingen. Ook een krat 1,5 ltr flessen water kan je vaak net niet door je zijluik onder je bed schuiven. Verder is het zonde dat veel ondernemingen chauffeur en chauffeuses zelf laten betalen voor standairco's en het onderhoud daarvan. Zeker op landen als Frankrijk, Italië geen overbodige luxe zo'n ding. Toch zie ik ook nog veel ondernemingen gebruik maken van uitzendbureau; terwijl je juist met zo'n uitzendbureau en zwakke cao en arbeidsvoorwaarden hebt. Zeker nu zie je chauffeurs naar ondernemingen gaan onder vaste contracten. En zijn de ondernemingen met de slechtste voorwaarden het hardst op zoek naar werknemers. "Toevallig" vaak de grote ondernemingen zoals Loos/Appel, Action (geen chauffeurs cao) maken nog gebruik van uitzendbureaus die je uitbuiten. Zonde: door uitzendbureaus en bedrijven die daarvan gebruik maken en de tijdelijke contracten is de transportsector om zeep geholpen.
Wat een onzin,je bent pas een echte chauffeur als je savonds in restaurant eet?...ik gooi regelmatig een maaltijd in de ping. Lekker door moeders de vrouw klaargemaakt. En ik voel me niet geroepen om elk autohof financieel te ondersteunen.
Wow didn't even know Renault made a truck. All beautiful, but the problem with the Euro trucks is they are just not big enough to live in for long times. 2 or 3 weeks living in them full time and I just have to get out as its not comfortable. I need a 50 inch bunk or larger if I am going to be in it for a couple of months.
