I can only assume, but for those looking for an explanation to game 3's ending, mana might have been worried that the gengar would come in to explode (thus ending the turn early and preventing medicham from subbing to salac), after which kingdra could come back in and outspeed and kill outright, without worry of a sub or the high-power reversal.
what i'm wondering though is why the medi wasn't running even HP so it'd only take three subs to proc salac instead of four i think if that were the case mana just takes the set
@@smittz_ Reversal is considerably stronger at 1hp as opposed to 25%. Odd hp, along with rain setters to clear the sand, I'd say is the indicator that it was reversal as opposed to a sole salac strat.
The fact that Misdreavus can't run that night shade + willowisp set instead of Gengar is pretty criminal tbh. ALTHOUGH Duskull can and it has levitate too...
Mana lucked a whole lot to get here but it’s still sad to see them exit like this. Very cool teambuilding even if it required well timed crits throughout the bracket
I really love the thick fat. It’s nice for offensive lax. It gets you more free switch in’s then the toxic immunity. You have Meta for toxic immunity anyway and Celebi can shirk it off. 3:35 So nice for Moltres switch in. Decent for Zard switchin.
@@SvenHeidemann-uo2yl It’s not that rare actually. I run it. The protect is much more rare. I’ve never ever seen that on ladder. Imo best set is FB/Punch/HP Ice/Tox. Sucks against refresh pert and doll but it’s so nice for catching the more common non refresh variants and you get cune, flagon, milotic. I love ice to force out mence after a sack.
I gotta say: that you aknowledged the criticism regarding suicunes name in ADV Revival instead of going full defensive like most would, has gained you my heart and my respect LRXC
Giving someone the benefit of the doubt means to keep in mind the possibility that you are missing something in your perception of a matter and therefore refraining from dismissing something outright :) I have a lot of sympathy for LRXC doing that, thats all
I don't think it mattered. If medi gets salac berry behind the sub, yes it kills Gengar but brick break wouldn't have killed. Kingdra would have been over 60 and shadow ball did 35. But I do think the correct play was to sub and at least play around crit. Mana instead seems to have played for bihi to choke and switch to gar, though I think that still loses
@@t2send Or maybe it was a Reversal mindgame, but Reversal OHKO's Kingdra, so it can't be that... Mana must have been running Bulk up + Brick Break, and maybe White herb ? If you have Salac you definitely go for the last Sub
It was a 50-50. If you sub with Medi as Gar switches in, the sub fails. Then Gengar clicks Explosion, ends the turn, and you can't click sub, and you lose to the Kingdra in Rain.
Well it was a fun series. I don’t think anyone would say before or after watching this series that the winner is the better player, so good luck in the finals.
Spoilers . . . . Dude I felt like I was in the same room as LRXC just screaming alongside of him during Game 1 like wtf were those first five turns???? Seeing Snorlax switch in and get hit by Toxic made me feel like I just saw a dog hop into a car and start driving away. Thick Fat Snorlax is +aura but getting hit with Toxic immediately is super -aura. Game 2 when I saw Lapras I couldn't believe he brought it again, MixMence put on a show though, really demonstrated why it's such a powerhouse in the tier, just impossible to switch into comfortably. AND THEN GAME 3???? Bruh when the Gengar set up Rain Dance I was shook. When the GOREBYSS came out I was losing it. When the KINGDRA came out afterwards I was ready for the ER. So glad LRXC commentated this one, matched the vibe of the absurdity so well. Sad to see Mana out because they were my favourite player to watch this tournament but best of luck to BIHI. Also Amon Tobin is pretty cool.
Whata the actual fuck were these teams and games? In FINALS???\ Also, live recording are so much worse. Tons of dead time and obvious set spoilers. (Commentary was absolutely top tier though)
