As always thanks for watching and commenting Chris. The sun hoody is a GAME CHANGER. I'm really looking forward to the true test on the AZTR. Hope to see you out there.
I used to live in Flag a few years ago, and have ridden, trail run, hiked, and explored most of the areas along your route. Your awesome video brought back so many fond memories. Loved all the scenery, and especially the great narration in your video. Thank you for sharing.
Great video! I’ll be moving back to Flagstaff in a few months. Was a trail runner there previously but want to get back into biking (used to do DH and road). What are your thoughts on best bike to enjoy the dirt roads there (not singletrack) - gravel bike or low travel XC bike? Thanks!
IMHO it all depends on if your goals are to go fast or be comfortable. On this ride, Tyler had a Revel Rover with 45C Maxxis Rambler's at 25psi, Chris had a Marin hardtail, and I had a Ripley 130mm/120mm full suspension with Rekon 2.4's and they all worked well. I had more fun on the chunky descents than Tyler but he flew on the cadillac gravel roads. I think the perfect all terrain bike is a good ole' Titanium hardtail mountain bike but gravel bikes are becoming more and more capable. I was really impressed by the capability of the Revel Rover and if Tyler put 50C tires on there it would probably be even more capable. The Rover is a gravel bike built by a mountain bike company and you can tell.
@@TheEnduranceStudio Thanks! This definitely helps. Let me reframe my question a bit: are the doubletrack trails out there more smooth or really gnarly (with big rocks)? I’m sure there’s a bit of everything, but what’s the dominant trait?
