I did it, one of the toughest races I ve done as 26% climbs and gnarly off-road sections .Timed sectors, some hike a bike up rocky climbs. Mentally and physically tough, easier on a mtb but gravel bike faster on the road sections.Being a racer, it was funny to see loads of people stopped at cafes ☕️ 🍰. Friday night stage about 13 miles with killer hill straight off the start. Saturday, 60 mile and 85 mile gravel race with killer climb sector 1 straight after control car section ended .
@@CycleXplorer years of doing downhill riding there I can count on one hand the dry sunny days I’ve had in the mountains. I did do the dragon ride one year in sunshine, the next year it was snow and 45mph winds 😂🤪
Don’t like Komoot.I plot my own rides avoiding towns and main roads, and mostly turn out great. Think I’m planning a similar thing ( probably involving a Premier inn) as I hate bivvying. You should have ridden the Panceltic gravel rally. Super hard, fantastic climbs , wonderful views.Right up your street I think ☔️☔️☔️🌬️🌬️🌬️😄
It's good if someone sends you a route, to check the surfaces etc. less so for planning but I didn't spend much time, literally clicked the end point and rode whatever it gave me 😂 I saw that it was on this weekend, but I've already got a few things coming up over the next couple of months. Did you do it?
