Hey Neil, that looked like a hard ride! Great video as always….except the special effects with the leaves. Not up to Wilson’s and my tumble weed standards set on your Peaks and Plateaus ride. 😂 Cheers! 🍻 Parker
It's just unfair, the amount of astonishing bikepacking routes in the US so absurd. There is just not that kind of wilderness anymore in western europe. Great video.
As an Arizona resident for the last 17 years, I can vouch that it didn’t really cool down until the second week of November. I want to try this route, but after watching this video, I have a lot more training to do. The desert is unforgiving, even in late October.
I know you folks are busy, but hoping you could mention what bikes you rode to handle the chunk. Hardtail for sure - but which ones? Thanks for some really nice footage.
Great vid, love the day by day recap you each provided! I always wonder how the heck you carry a camera, a drone, probably a smaller action camera, and a ton of batteries, plus your tent and other bikepacking gear!? 😮
Mighty fine! Inspired me to go ride my boring county park that's rather redundant at this point. So thanks! Drones make everything better. Nice coverage fellas and hats off to Chris for the single speed intestinal fortitude. Vids like this are much appreciated in a world where a lot of folks don't need to quit their day job... 😁
For hikabiking suggest nothing up front, a headshock or ft shock & seatpost shock, rear rack takes everything. For obstacles a hand on the seattube pulls the load over, toptube is free to grab, front end is free, my rear brake on left to control it non drive side can inch load up stuff & stop to reset feet. Just a reaction ... looks like way more work 🍺
I know that feeling Neil, I've lost count of the number of times I've written Scott out of my will, only to discover a little later that it was all worth it ; -)
Couscous with dried fruits and nuts, a crumbled stock cube in there and some dried mint. Just add water (cold soak or hot) for a delicious and nutritious bikepacking meal. Enjoy!
Cool vid! Glad you got to check it out. This loop is in need of some updating however. A better version to check out a nice loop from Flagstaff is Verde Valley Randonee.
Amazing footage, and I know the video probably doesn’t do it justice. Hey how did you guys carry your water? I saw full frame bags, bottles, but where did they go?
Thanks! your right, It really doesn't, I should have got the drone out for the hike-a-bike! I had 3 liters in my frame bag, and another on my top tube. Never ran out, but we were starting to worry on day two before we hit that amazing "little mini" of a river.
