Indeed one of the best tours in the area. In your first descend from Brambrüesch to Churwalden I do recommend though taking a different single track just after the uphill about midway down. As you finish your climb do not descend on the fire-/gravelroad in the "Chlosterwald" toward the left which leads to the main road (pt 1210). Instead climb that fire road approx. 500m until you are past the switchback at around 1400m of altitude ("ob der egga"). Then take the single track leading of to your left running in parallel to the gravel road but some meters higher all the way to the end of the forest. Then continue into Churwalden through the single track crossing the meadow next to the nursing home.

Thank you. I think I'll probably do it again this summer as well. There are a couple of changes I want to make to my route to improve it. I also think there's going to be a new Weisshorn trail this year, so that might become part of the tour as well.

Not often I fall in love with a video, but that was stunning mate! The trails, the views, the villages everywhere is beautiful. Also, very glad you gave the full picture as that lift would be an issue for my ebike with the battery 😔 One thing you really need in these rides, with wide open spaces! A drone with active track, skydio 2 with the beacon is meant to be amazing. All I could imagine when watching you ride those ridges, my mavic would certainly be out with active track on 😍😍 Fantastic video, cannot wait to try this
@TrailTrackerSwitzerland
@TrailTrackerSwitzerland 3 года назад
Thanks fella. I’ve been toying with the idea of a drone for a while now. I really think that the Skydio 2 would be the right one but they’re hard to get hold of outside of North America. If you can’t take your battery out of your bike, you could always ride that section instead of taking the lift. You’d still have plenty of battery for the rest of the tour.

Awesome video really enjoyed it... amazing scenery and the trails ain’t bad either lol 👌 Wonder why certain lifts don’t allow for DH bikes and full face - is it because they’re not that type of trail and don’t want people to try and cane it past others?
@TrailTrackerSwitzerland
@TrailTrackerSwitzerland 3 года назад
Thanks dude. It's an absolute must for any keen and competent biker that's in the area. I think they want to avoid people treating shared-use trails like a bike park, which why DH bikes are banned. I guess the ban on full face helmets is an attempt to improve communication and understanding between hikers and bikers - a small price to pay for access to such awesome trails!
@jimbomtb9560
@jimbomtb9560 3 года назад
@@TrailTrackerSwitzerland definitely on my bucket list! The length of descents over that way are something else compared to UK bike parks 😜 Ah makes sense now that you say these are shared trails with hikers guess that’s what those ‘ski type’ gates are for as notice they are where there’s a crossing point!

@@TrailTrackerSwitzerland oh i read that now. so iam not allowed with my HC8? Because i think its a "DH" Bike, and i have a full face helmet? well i can take the chin protector away, but still is that a problem?
@TrailTrackerSwitzerland
@TrailTrackerSwitzerland 2 года назад
@@AemJaY You don't have to worry about the full face helmet, I wear mine every time I go there. A DH bike is a different issue though and wouldn't work for this tour anyway because of all the climbing involved.

@@TrailTrackerSwitzerland so whats the definition of a DH Bike? I have a 180 Front suspension. and i climb up "everything" so far. There are a couple of spots where it is pretty exposed. But the first bit from the Rothorn (Dark Side of the Moon) is no problem. Then if you don’t like the look of what’s coming up you can always head back down to the Lenzerheide side without tackling the Älplisee trail.

Hi. Did not Get the thing about remove the battery on the second lift? Is it not allowed to bring ebikes in the lifts in lenzerheide?
@TrailTrackerSwitzerland
@TrailTrackerSwitzerland Месяц назад
You can take e-bikes on the lifts in Lenzerheide no problem. The only issue is on the second lift in the Alpenbikepark where the lift is very old and the method for carrying the bikes ivery rudimentary, which is why there is a weight limit that most e-bikes exceed. Hence the need to remove the battery.

@TrailTrackerSwitzerland
@TrailTrackerSwitzerland 3 года назад
Painful!!! Honestly, I'm not entirely sure, but I think they might serve 2 purposes. 1. To keep cows out of some places and 2. to make bikers slow down at certain points. If anyone knows any better, please feel free to wade in.
@jxrxch
@jxrxch 3 года назад
they're there so that they can slam into your hands and be painful and worst case if you're a little too far over you slam your hand into the post, slice open your finger, damage some ligaments and break a finger... the cows don't seem to mind them whatsoever and have no troubles getting through it would seem :D hahaha
