For flat pedal riders, make sure your heels are down so your feet stay on your pedals. Also, try stay central on your bike because your need even traction on both wheels. Also, use your legs and arms to pump through sections to keep your speed as speed is your friend, even if it's intimidating. Jumping certain sections definitely helps. And last but not least, keep practicing and have fun. Obviously some of these were mentioned in this video but I thought I would mention my favourite tips coming from someone who mainly rides natural trails and has only been to one bike park😂Stay safe out there everyone 🙏🤘👊

Also CushCore. I used to be terrified of roots. Since installing CushCore. I have been dominating my rooty trails. It allows you to drop that psi with out worrying about pinch flats or destroying your rims. It also give you a lot better control and grip. I didnt think it would make that huge of a difference. But after installing them on my trail bike and going back to my DH bike (no cushcore) I noticed a masssssive difference. Cushcore really does give you a lot more grip and control on the trails!

Do you find that your smaller stature (not to be confused with strength to weight ratio) allows you to be a more successful rider? learned to ride over roots back in the day as a kid - I'm 43 now and just picked up a used (only 15km riden) low budget 29er hardtail. My old bike was build in the mid-to-late 90s and the new one I got for 60% of its original price. It's my first bike ever with front suspension & after getting hooked on the whole lot of good mtb content (which I thank all the channels for). I started to ride in the woods around my home again and yes I can still do it.. Especially going uphill over roots I totally kill all my buddies. You want to attack into them - if you slow down too much you will fail to get over the bigger ones or even slip sideways. Line choice as allways is essential to overcome these obstacales. I'm allways looking to hit the roots on a spot there there top is not falling of to one side and in a 90° angle. I also try to stay over the bike not leaning me or the bike to the sides - just forward and backwards to improof traction. Its amazing how even after close to 30 years you can still do it without thinking about any of this while doing it. Cornering downhill on lose ground and jumping/droping on the other hand scares me & I'm thinking over that a lot. That too comes from my childhood expieriience as I crashed a lot doing/trying that stuff back in the day (broke of my 2 upper front tooth which when got a silver jacket crowns on it - that was horrid - I got mobbed in school at a time when mobbing wasnt even a thing (at least not in east germany) & beaten at home because l had to fight in school nearly every day). Not beeing able to get the huge bike up for a manuell (which i never learned) yet doesnt help me buildung confidence to do that stuff. On a tiny 26'' its easy to get the body wait behind the rear axle to then bailout but on my 29er this seems to be near impossible somehow maybe it goes better once I switched to a shorter stem ( again thanks for all the good content to learn from). As you can see by my ay too long post - dispite all the grievance I went thru I never stopped loving to ride bikes ;) Maybe I one day even try to rebuilt one of those things we had to build up ourselfs out of a foldable Mifa bikes and make a video project about it to show you what we had before the wall went down ;).

@michaeltihon3485

Very nice video. That's also the kind of direction I'm experimenting, position on saddle, up or in-between and on steep climbs with mud over hard or slippery rocks, it can be challenging to find the best position to get the maximum traction. Challenging climbs in difficult conditions is my favorite part of mtb because when you succeed, it's so satisfying :) I see you use the HD/MM as tire combo on the video, a combo I also like a lot. Would you have suggestions in other brands as well ? (Maxxis, Michelin, .... ?) I made the mistake of going speed compound on my rear tire, not a good idea I think. I will have to rethink this. A hard compound tire on the rear rolls fast on normal terrain but on conditions like this, it's unforgiving if you put too much power on the pedals.

Also, the trails seem to narrow as the vegetation around flourishes making the trails a little more difficult to navigate at least for me in these turns. Thanks and keep the tutorials coming Christina!
