Great to see Bill Bradley. My hero. Rhodes scholar. Senator. NBA star. Presidential candidate. He wrote a book (A Sense of Where You Are) that I read in high school and stuck with me and articulated about getting into the “zone” and what it takes to get there - awareness, sensory perception, practice, practice, practice. Must have been the smartest guy in the NBA, never exploited it and managed to get through scandal free. I copied my game after his…swiswh the corner shot - the craft of knowing where you are and where the basket was

Central park? call from Mrs Reed? sat on a rock and cried? MAKE ROOM FOR YOUR EMMY DAN! Too bad our country wasn't smart enough to put him in the whitehouse...

These are the nuggets this show will always provide. So awesome to be able to reach into the past with someone knowledgeable like Dan Patrick. This cannot be done by the younger generations and that connection will be sorely missed by me when, or if, he ever retires.

Bill Bradley would have made a good president of the United States. He ran but did not make it past the primaries. Apart from Larry Bird, the last great exponent of the bank shot. Greatly missed in public discourse. This is a major get by the show. Just to know to try to get him on is a small miracle.

Such a great interview. I grew up on the NBA in the 80’s and after and just love hearing about the game before that time. Please bring back Bill Bradley and other players from before the 1980’s to hear these great stories from the history of the NBA. I could listen to them all day.

My first memories of NBA was the 1970 Knicks. Bradley, Reed, Fraiser, Monroe, and DeBusschere. I was 7! Then I became a 76ers fan😎

When I watch this guy, I feel sad for all the folks that gravitate towards a persona like Trump's. I'll take the class, humility, good-natured humor and simple decency of this guy over that any day.

I was only six when The Knicks won their first Championship but by the time I was Nine , I was into Basketball and I saw them on TV win that 2nd Championship. First one I can clearly remember. I was a Celtics Fan but could not deny that the Knicks at that time were superb and a true rival of the Celts. Knicks had some very good teams in the 90's but cannot compare to that earlier squad as the franchise has not won a Title since and that group won those two in fairly short time frame. Bill B. was a great team player with a sweet shot for sure and it is great to hear his recollections of those great days that he was part of in the late sixties and early 70's.

Where are the questions about Willis Reed ? Game 7 ? Thats it ????? Bill Bradley is such a brilliant dude why not ask about so many other great games concerning Celtics and Bullets. I would love to ask about Willis and his prep for Wilt and Russ and Unseld and Cowens .Willis was our leader we all knew it back then everybody on the team was great but we knew and i'm not joking we knew Willis was the one to bring home the gold for us it was a known fact to everybody .Willis was a lot like JOE Willie back then they both had the bad injuries and it seemed like the whole world waited for their comebacks which ended up being so dramatic every time they made a comeback. I could be wrong but I think that 73 team has 5 players on the 75th anniversity team more than anyone I think. Trust me Willis was a god- like hero of that era every time I hear those KNICK players they speak in awe of Willis. We all felt that way about him

All of the starting five on the '72-'73 Knicks are in the Hall of Fame. Has any other NBA championship team achieved this?
@stevedavis2426
@stevedavis2426 Год назад
@@tubbsdavid neither one of us can get enough of this stuff. LOL your on my Mikes Podcast comments. Jackson, Holtzman, Lucas makes 8 but Celts maybe had more. The Knicks defense and bench make them almost unbeatable LOL including that 68 win Celtic team in 73.

They played really tough against some Historic teams the 71-72 Lakers (without WILLIS) The Bucks Bullets and Boston. I can recall the player vs player rivalry with the Bullets was really an everyday conversation for about 5 years. Wes Unseld vs WILLIS and Frazier vs Monroe were the biggest but Jack Marin and Riordan vs Bradley and DeBusschere was epic. I recently either read or heard Frazier talking about Phil Chenier, god he was freakin pesky as all hell I hated those Bullets they gave us fits, those games against those guys were so tough

As soon as he admitted to getting punked on the court I new he was a democrat. Not saying it wasn’t smart of him but still lol. Seems like a really nice guy. Humble and good speaker. Don’t know about the suite inside the house though lol
