That Interview for F is for Family is one of the prime examples of Bill Burr doing a comedy special by just talking and saying stuff that comes into his head. One of the funniest interviews i've ever seen.

I had an interview at Pixar and afterward the staff offered to show me some of the fun and cute things they had in different offices. But one of them said, “oh no, HE’s going to be here” and everyone got nervous and focused on just getting me the hell out of there. The tried to explain that it was essential that they be seen working and that I be gone from the site. That interview day was my introduction to Steve Jobs’ reputation and effect on his staff.

I'm with him on Jobs, first off it was Woz that was the genius behind the tech and 2nd off Iphone/pod wasn't even close to the first. The only reason it took off as much as it did was the marketing. Which was Jobs completely, but he gets credit as this tech genius rather than a shrewd asshole who knew a good buck when he saw it.

2:30 Always said Jobs and Apple's only accomplishment was convincing people old technology was cutting edge. The iPhone wasn't the first smart phone, that came out 9 years earlier. The iPad was a ripoff of the Tablet PC which was introduced 10 years earlier. The iPod came on the mp3 player scene 4 years late. Every flagship product of Apple was just their version of an existing technology. And now, each new iPhone is just a rebranded version of a 5 year old Android with a massive markup. So many of the parts are Samsung that they get $110 for each iPhone sold.

By that standard everyone is guilty of convincing people that "old technology" was cutting edge -Edison's lightbulb wasnt the first lightbulb to be made -Alexander Graham bells phone wasn't the first phone to be made. -Newton's laws of motion weren't the first laws of motion to be invented -Einstein's theory of relativity wasn't the first theory of relativity Steve Jobs and the individuals above did was to revolutionise already existing industries by providing better and more advanced solutions to improve upon old technologies, that is not a small feat, and it should not be looked down on. smartphones as they operate today owe a lot to Jobs and apple. and only God knows how long it might have taken for us to have such technology , If jobs didn't come along. Sir Isaac Newton: "If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants."

I loved Stephen Colbert right until I saw that interview with Bill Burr. He was a terrible host with one of the most gifted comics of our era. He was distant and almost hostile at times.

3:30 "When the technology didn't exist"??? What on EARTH are you smoking, Dave? Apple Computer: personal computer (Apple I) released 1976, first PC released by HP in 1971. Apple Lisa/Mac Computer: released 1983/84, first GUI computer released in 1973. iMac: released in 1998, first all-in-one computer was likely the Kaypro in 1981. iPods: released in 2001, mp3 players were invented in the mid to late 90s. iTunes: released in 2001, media players were invented in the 1980s. iPad: released in 2002, tablet computers were invented in 1989 and all of them ran off Microsoft. iPhone: released in 2007, pocket phones were invented in the mid to late 90s. The only thing Steve Jobs INVENTED was his own MYTHOLOGY. The guy was a literal scumbucket.
