Ash needs to know it wasn't just the fans saying things to the players , a fan threw a full drink on Ron Artest and thats what set everything off.

it started before that even with Artest and a player, Ben Walllace, not with a fan. Then Artest layed on the booth and out came the drink. Meta World Peace was already redlining from the confrontation with Wallace.

Gotta do both(because the animator did an incredible job); but it's gotta be Bill's live act first or watching the animated one will ruin the physical comedy & mic work performance from that bit(because you can tell he's doing it listening obviously), which is the other half of what makes so amazing it's more than just the story & punchline. That bit is watching a standup at his peak, everything about that joke and the performance from the special is just as good as it gets.

The streaker that ran on the field at this years super bowl placed a bet that there would be a streaker during the game. He bet 50K. the payout was like 260K or something like that. His 3 friends that went to the game with him also bet 5k each. I dont think that bet will be available anymore.

As an American who grew up and still loves British comedy/humor/shows, it's really weird that people don't know as much British comedy/comedians as I thought. It would be good to see you react to some British stuff, maybe some best of things like Vicker of Dibbly, Father Ted, IT Corwd, Are you being served?, Yes, Chef, Black Adder(s), A bit of Fry and Laurie, heck even stuff that was popular here, like Python and Fawlty Towers. I'm sure a lot of your fanbase is in the USA, myself included.

Gotta have the 'Malice in the Palace' reaction, YT be damned! LOL The key to getting the most enjoyment out of Bill Burr is to just prepare yourself and accept that he's going to push you for most of the bit, but you KNOW he's setting you up to begrudgingly agree with him at the end of it. This is all deliberate, intentional, you know it's coming, just accept it LOL. He's, IMO, the ultimate line-walker, he just rides it so damn well! There's a place and time for streaking. It can absolutely be cringy, a poor streak attempt is just terrible - but, a well executed streaking? It's a legendary thing!

Talking about streaking, it used to be much more prevalent in the 70's. My dad tells a story about how he and my mom were in the college cafeteria, and a dude just casually strolled through with nothing but a paper bag over his head, taking all the time in the world. Just out for a casual walk, naked, in a crowded public place.

2003 or 04, the Malice at the Palace. ..the incident went viral here before social media existed...this incident along with some Knicks vs Heat fights in the 90s totally changed the rules in the NBA. You leave the bench now during a fight and it's an automatic suspension

That thing about Bill getting under Ash's skin -> He learned that from years with Patrice. Patrice on his specials would go out and just trigger _everyone_. His strategy always started with having the crowd *against* him. Then he would work to win them back.

Just figured out the reason that Ash can't deal with Bill Burr. They are societal opposites. Apparently Ash is from Africa and likes to think she "gets" it about us black folk yet any time Bill brings up race she freaks out. Bill grew up in Boston when it was at its most racist (during bussing) and he ended up being best friends with Patrice and marrying Nia.... Sometimes when someone or thing messes with our sense of self or our preconceived notions, we can't see the forrest for the trees, or get the jokes for our colonial past.

It was known as Malice at the Palace, because the home of the Detroit Pistons at the time was the Palace in Auburn Hills. Guys just went nuts, they were punching fans. Like clearly that's not ok, but stuff was just unleashing. You're telling Ron Artest literally anything? I don't even like basketball What I'm swinging? I'm 80 pounds. He could chokeslam me through wrestlemania.

I think the reason Bill is a love-or-hate comic is because Bill's voice and blunt approach are not what you find with most comics. He doesn't have much of a lead-up, his points are usually "counter culture" (which end up being incredibly logical and accepted later by others who cited him as wrong or bad for his points), and is direct with any premise. His voice being that of a blunt east-coast guy only compounds it because it tends to have a bit of aggression to it, even if there's not an ounce of aggression or anger in him.

I love you both, Dave and Ash, but I can’t imagine someone like Bill getting under your skin unless it literally is hitting “too close to home.” Nothing he has said about women has EVER NOT been 100% true. (And I’ve had abusive experiences with women dating back to childhood I won’t even mention here. They are JUST as awful as men…often more so.) But It’s all in fun. Don’t let comedy ruffle your feathers. 🙂
