"Breakdown" is a CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED Kurt flick. Saw it on cable when I was 13 and have loved it ever since. It's only now finally gonna be put on blu-ray.

He was in three of the best movies of the 80's: 1) The Thing 2) Escape from New York 3) Big Trouble in Little China. I saw those in the theaters and was blown away. I love those films.
When speaking of Kurt Russell people always seem to forget Used Cars. It's very early in his transition to an adult actor and it's brilliantly funny. Who can forget the scene, "fifty dollars never killed anybody?"
Yeah, I like it. Saw it opening weekend. It would have benefited from a being a bit longer, more world building, and a producer keeping an eye on the director. Great movie to watch on a Saturday night with some take-out.
He actually says " I'm your huckle-bearer" which back then was a slang for Paul bearer because in the old west they dressed coffins with huckleberry leaves.

Funny thing is that this is the second time recently that this has happened with a movie. It was purely a random RU-vid video that just happened to mention a movie that I had seen that day.
Kurt Russell in Escape from NY is the soul inspiration for Snake in MGS. He's always been amazing in every roll; even Deathproof. He also got to fuck Goldie Hawn. I mean, c'mon, man.
Deathproof is such an under-rated film. Big Trouble was awesome. The Escape movies, Captain Ron is hilarious! edit: Forgot Tombstone. Bloody fantastic! Greatest Cast all up in cowboy film history IMO...
"The Thing" is the best, pure classic..... the first movie I saw with him, was "Stargate", but that's because I'm a millenial :D:D but loved the guy ever since
As a kid I truly wanted to be Kurt Russell's character from Backdraft. This badass, macho, firefighter..... that didnt turn out too accurate lmao. But still love that character and movie. Pure nostalgia with that one.
Just rewatched Big Trouble in Little China because it was free here on YT. One movie I saw as a kid that is just as good as a I remembered! Death Proof is VERY underrated too. He plays a villian just as good as a hero.
Movies like Bone Tomahawk are very, very few and far between nowadays. Unique execution, and threw political correctness out the fucking window for good measure. I bet it will be rediscovered in the future and regarded as a cult classic.
First time seeing him was on a Gilligan's Island rerun. He played semi-pro baseball, here in Portland for the Mavericks who were owned by his Dad, Bing Russell. My Mom got to meet them both because she worked at a place that sewed the numbers and letters on the team's jerseys. They'd give her tickets to the games, sometimes so, I actually got to see him play. Total fan of his acting abilities. Tombstone is a bad-ass movie and Kilmer should've won an Oscar for his role!

My high school football coach had us do windsprints for over an hour after we lost a game. Finally with everybody puking and passing out the team captain yells at everybody and says "No more. Fuck this guy. Dont run! Nobody run!" My coach blows the whistle and nobody runs. He looks at us and says "Now you're a team. Hit the showers!" That guy was an old school korean war vet with ptsd! Nasty bastard, but a solid coach!
Ken Morrow graduated from my high school, about ten years ahead of me. He was on that team then went to the Rangers and won the Stanley Cup that year. When you get to town the sign says "welcome to Davison, home of Ken Morrow, Olympic Gold medalist, Stanly cup Champion." Bill's boy Tim Thomas went to my school too, another Cup champion. We produce some hockey players in this town I guess.
No one ever mentions Kurt Russell in Breakdown. One of the greatest road trip thrillers ever. When I watched it I was like yeah films like this is why I go to the movies

Kurt Russell is one of the greatest of all time. In my opinion. His body of work is insane. Just reading his IMDB page can take up 30 min of your time.
Tombstone is a movie that we watch annually at my buddies cottage, sober drunk or wasted, the movie is amazing and the whole weekend is spent just naming off one-liners from that film while playing bocce and smoking cigars
